This is a gem of a restaurant in South Portland, Maine. Terrific cocktail offerings and service. The food was prepared perfectly and was tastefully garnished. We look forward to returning in the warmer weather to enjoy their scenic deck.

What a beautiful location! Food was beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. The chef/owner helped make my best friends wedding a night to remember! They have a great upstairs area for private events.

We came here for date night and everything was superb. We have been to many of Portland's fine eateries and these guys can hang with the best. Wonderful waterfront views, delightful dishes, welcoming staff. Courtney was our server and she was a rockstar. Provided insightful commentary, was prompt but not intrusive, bubbly, and thoughtful. I had an off menu drink request and she got it spot on. Highly reccommend.

The restaurant has a casual-elegant atmosphere. The dining room is spacious and well-lit, and the walls are decorated with artwork by local artists. The outdoor patio is a great place to enjoy a meal on a warm day.

The service at North 43 Bistro is excellent. The staff is friendly and attentive, and they are always happy to make recommendations.

Came here for a nice dinner to end my honeymoon trip up New England and North 43 Bistro did not disappoint! The service was timely and our waiter Matt was excellent. I had the curry spiced halibut and my husband ordered the pork chop. We also split the cornbread with whipped butter appetizer. My husband is a chef and he said the food was some of the best he’d ever tasted. If you are celebrating a special occasion or just looking to have a nice date night out, go to North 43 Bistro! I've worked with Stephanie on two events in her upstairs dining room -- one for 20 people and one for 32. She and her staff exceeded my expectations both times and were delightful to deal with at every phase. The dining room is private with spectacular views through the glass doors. The deck is perfect for pre-dinner cocktails and the entire experience is high-end. If you need to dazzle a group, Stephanie will make you look good.

My bride and I recently had dinner here and were treated to fabulous food and service. Our server, Kara was friendly and attentive. The presentation of food was as wonderful as every bite tasted. Portland, Maine has many fine restaurants. We recommend that North 43 Bistro is on the top of your list to visit!

The view is great! Food is always good, and there are usually nice vegan options for the meatless friends in our lives.

Lovely spot for a special occasion. We celebrated our anniversary and had a perfect table on the patio. Got there at 4:45 and had a happy hour drink and app followed by dinner.

My sister just had her wedding reception on the second floor with the balcony overlooking the water -- not only was this so beautiful, but the STAFF were what made this night so spectacular. **Andy, Alex, and Jane** really made our experience so flawless. We had a cocktail hour with passed hors d'oeuvres, followed by a seated dinner for approx 20 guests, and the three staff members assigned to our party really made us feel so taken care of and seen. They made sure to pause service when speeches happened, then immediately swooped in with the next course. Really lovely experience all around. Thank you so much to you three and North 43 for hosting a beautiful night for us.

Some proper mussels! What more could you want after a 30hr drive from New Orleans? Burger was amazing, the steak and cheese egg rolls were amazing, the fresh caught tuna was amazing (and I hate tuna), the views were amazing, the beer selection was amazing, our waiter from Long Island was amazing, the hostesses who seated 3 smelly guys who've been locked up in a car for 30 hrs with a dog were amazing.

Well done North 43 Bistro, you set the bar for all restaurants in the Northeast.

Always a good experience, whether for a full sit down meal with a group, dinner at the bar or a quick in and out for apps. Tonight we had the butternut squash and crab meat ravioli and spec "hot pocket" puff pastry. Both were excellent. The staff were friendly and offered suggestions.

It is always on our radar for a quick date night or family night out with our teens. Thanks North 43

Delicious and well presented meals (especially the steak which was very tender and had a wonderful smokey flavor) and friendly staff in a gorgeous location, with views of the marina, Casco Bay and Fort Gorges. Pricey but worth it for a special occasion or a treat.

So excited to enjoy this off the charts spot. The food was what I hoped... delicious! If Woody is bartending, 100% fabulous experience. A good bartender is part of the soul of a restaurant, and he's a good one! I asked him to remember us as we'll be a regular. Don't sleep on this one, kids!

They were happy to accommodate a dairy free diet restriction. They successfully cooked the food in accordance with that restriction. You'd be amazed at how many restaurants do not after the request was made. I get to find out about 12 hours later that dairy was used.
But! I got the chicken entree with grilled fig and sweet potatoes. It was perfect.

I decided to reserve a table here after the proposal to my (now) fiancé. What a treat it was! Great food, great service, great views.

Courtney, our waitress, was absolutely fantastic. She went above and beyond, and it was an absolute pleasure to be waited on by her.

When the ancient Romans concocted a recipe to blend cream from the Tuscan Foothills alongside hand picked mushrooms from the Torino mountainside, never in their wildest imagination would they have dreamed of a soup as tantalizing as the the cream of mushroom soup at North 43.

Being the first time at this fine establishment I don't have much else to share other than the bread is fantastic. The fries are amazing and the service is top notch.

Don't be a stranger and make your way down to the water front.

Great restaurant off the beaten path. Views of the marina, very friendly staff, plenty of parking. Open kitchen shows the prep area, pretty cool embracing transparency. Food was very fresh and came in time.

Nice lunch. I had the jerk chicken sandwich with fries. The chicken was tasty (not hot) but the fries were very salty. Its a nice environment to have lunch.

Great food with an awesome location right on the water. Definitely an awesome atmosphere and a friendly staff.
