Very popular and small place so there might be a wait! We sat at the bar and the service was excellent! Menu was explained thoroughly. The fries were crunchy and flavored! Loved the truffle ketchup and garlic aioli! The Caesar salad tasted so fresh and acidic.

Now my favorite part- the root beer float was to die for! So creamy and their sodas are made in house. The grape was also very good.

Phenomenal food, excellent service, creative and effective space - Duckfat is incredible! My partner and I got lunch on a Saturday. We arrived and put our name on the waitlist, and took a little walk while we waited for a text our table was ready. We ordered the small poutine (plenty of food to share before sandwiches) and it was out of this world! The French Dip special was delicious - love the horseradish. We also enjoyed a Ruben with perfectly smokey corned beef. Finally, the Duckfat caramel shake is a must have - it is massive (see the picture of the shake in the glass +half full metal cup!) and super tasty! Our waiter Calvin was great and all the staff were kind, professional and efficient. We can’t wait for our next trip to Duckfat!

I visited here around mid October 2023, and I must say, it was fantastic and lived up to their reputation! Their classic duck fat poutine is a must from here, along with their milkshakes. It was the best one I’ve ever had! They also serve it like they did in the 50s so that was fun! The sandwich I had was great too. Wait time can be a little long on a Friday so be prepared to wait close to an hour. With downtown Portland right there, there’s plenty of places to explore. I would definitely go here again!

This place get busy very quickly, so I would advise to come early if you want to sit inside. If you don’t mind the outside, they can usually seat you fairly quickly.

My favorite is the fries, fried in duck fat. If you can decide which dipping sauce you want, I would recommend to get the flight of sauce- it’s amazing. The poutine is also amazing, crispy and creamy with the sunny side egg.

I’d highly recommend to come here for their fries.

This little but fun spot you could blink and go right by had the absolute BEST LOBSTER ROLL IVE EVER HAD!!!, The duck was cooked impeccably and tasted so good! Gotta try the fries with the duck egg and thank me later. The staff were attentive and wonderful! Ask for CC! If you’re in the Portland area definitely do not miss this one!! We drove from Vermont almost 4 hours and were not disappointed!!

There needs to be a better word for delicious, because the food here is on another level of satisfying. From the milkshakes to the fries/poutine to the sandwiches, we were satisfied. The staff were delightful and entertaining as well as attentive. I never had a Cubano sandwich that froze my mind with flavor. I would highly recommend this place, it has two different locations in Portland.

Came here for lunch yesterday with a party of two. The service was fast and the waiters were super kind, and the food was delicious! The frites were not super greasy and very hearty, and the sauces that came with them were also wonderful. The Tuscan spiced roast turkey was an excellent sandwich, the bread was crispy and it was both filling and fresh. The lemon thyme spritzer was refreshing for a summer day, but I couldn't taste much time. The chocolate milkshake was chocolatey and sweet, but not too sweet. Overall, pretty much everything was great about this place, the food, the ambience, the service and especially the wall of word magnets. I'll be sure to return soon.

My boyfriend and I came here as it is mentioned on multiple blogs and videos. It was definitely worth the stop in and the short wait (20 min) to be seated. The food was great and our server was friendly and helpful. We had a salad with smoked duck, fries with a sauce flight, and the original milkshakes. All were delicious, no complaints.

Very good! If you get the poutine, get the egg and the crispy duck skin confit! All of these things individually are okay but marry them all together and it's a delicious myriad of flavor for your taste buds to enjoy!
The black tea was the best I had while I was in Maine.
The cherry sulfate is a unique taste experience. I don't think I'll do it again but I am glad I did it once.
The server was just delightful and appropriately attentive.
If you go, make sure you get there early or prepare to wait. I got there 30 minutes before opening and a line formed right behind me. The restaurant was pretty much full as soon as it opened.

This place is amazing!🦆

While visiting the New England area, this was one of the best eats of the whole trip!

Atmosphere: They have indoor and outdoor seating with a small wooden structure that is stationed on the road that holds three long, wooden tables. The structure has round windows on the sides as well as greenery which have the space some character!
Service: Our waiter was very kind! He was great to answer any questions we had whether it was menu item recommendations or places to do in Portland.
Menu items: Everything we ordered on the menu was delicious! We ordered the Belgian-style frites with a five sauce flight, their original milkshake, lobster roll sandwich, and doughnut holes which absolutely slapped!

Next time I go to Portland, I’d love to come back here and try some more of their menu items!🦞

I had seen several YouTube chefs praise using duck fat while deep frying and wanted to give it a shot. A friend from work highly recommended this place and said the poutine was amazing. It did not disappoint! We also got a couple of their signature milkshakes which tasted great as well! The place is definetly on the smaller side so you might need to wait a bit, but we showed up just a few minutes after opening and got seated immediately.

I loved this place. The homemade Arnie Palmer was over the top delicious. I also ordered the Caesar with lobster and a side of frites. I enjoyed it all very much. Their dipping sauces are incredible.

The place seemed pretty cool, honestly not sure exactly if I noticed the difference that the duckfat made, but I loved the concept. The poutine was absolutely delicious. I would order that again in a heartbeat. The milkshake and meatloaf Panini were also very good. I would certainly recommend this place, and definitely order yourself some poutine.

All The Hype! Great atmosphere. Drinks were out fast and tasted great. Ordered the fries, original milkshakes, grilled cheese, rueben and two bowls of tomato soup. Every description was spot on! A truly delicious meal. Will visit again soon.

Really solid place. Had the fries (which were bomb) with all the sauces. Truffle ketchup, Curry, and mayo are the best. Also got a Cuban o which was solid but nothing to write home about. Also got the doughnuts which were killer. Overall cute vibe and good food.

Had been there in 2015. Returned last week. The place is so popular that it doesn't take reservations. We called as we were 5 miles away and there was a 45 mn wait. However after we parked and walked round the block, because we wanted to eat outside, there was only a 5 mn wait.

Still the same small place, with the same great fries and homemade sauces. I am not a ketchup fan (European-born, we eat our fries with mayonnaise), but their truffle ketchup is really fabulous. If you want a milkshake, i recommend the original vanilla one, which has custard in it too. It is worth all the calories! My daughter moved the roasted pork belly panino.

A glass of Belgian beer will convince you that there is no other beer in the world worthy of the name "beer" than one made in Belgium. Everything else is...

The fries were worth the wait! Came for lunch and waited about a half hour. The wait staff was so incredibly friendly and fun. The fries and dipping sauces were perfect (especially the garlic mayo and truffle ketchup!) Got a vanilla milkshake to go that was somehow the best vanilla milkshake I’ve ever had! Will be back!!

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Duckfat! The restaurant is not very big, but is tastefully decorated and had a nice, friendly atmosphere. We ordered the poutine with duck confit, a lobster roll, and the doughnut holes. The fries in the poutine were perfectly crisp on the outside and nice and tender inside, at least until the gravy soaked in. The gravy had an impressive depth of flavor - tasting richly of duck and well-seasoned. The cheese curds were plentiful, and the duck confit was remarkably tender. The lobster roll was on a round roll, a bit of a departmental from the usual hot dog roll, but the bread was soft and delicious. The lobster itself was a delight - they added some herbs, citrus, and a but of pepper jelly which all brightened up the lobster roll and made it a fun twist on the Maine classic. The doughnut holes were super fresh and hot, with the insides being moist and cake-like and the outside a deep golden brown with some sugar coating them. The caramel sauce that went with it was a good complement. I was impressed and would want to come back on a future visit to Portland!

It's an all-time favorite for both tourists and locals alike! Undoubtedly 🙌, they serve the best fries and milkshakes in town. When we're in the mood for a sandwich, this place is a go-to. Given the long wait times and limited seating, we usually choose takeout (keep in mind, they don't fry the fries until you arrive to maintain their freshness). On a recent visit, we arrived at opening, securing a table. We ordered some specials and a sandwich from the regular menu. The potato chips from the specials menu were fantastic (I wish they were available year-round), although my partner wasn't a fan of the creme fraiche. I opted for the French Dip and loved the au jus – it balanced the extra crispy bread, a Duck Fat signature, and added to the flavor profile. My partner chose the Montreal Ruben, it is a new favorite. Other staples like the meatloaf and Cuban are also favorites, especially with the Thai chili mayo for the frites. We also enjoy many of the shake flavors; for this visit, we chose the original, and it arrives in a classic glass with a thin striped pair straw – don't forget to ask for two! 🍟🥤
