J.R.'s Rhodehouse BBQ Pit

We love JRs BBQ!! As good as anywhere in the USA. You can tell the care and attention that they put into their food. The owners are always so welcoming and pleasant! We love so many of the dishes! The beef ribs on Fridays are amazing!!! The smoked turkey is next level and honestly is our annual tradition for Thanksgiving. I tried to cook a better turkey and couldn’t do it. Best brisket in the dang country. The Mac n cheese is addictive. Not to mention their homemade baked beans and potato salad. The atmosphere is super fun and always incredibly clean. Now I am hungry lol…but seriously JRs is a must!

Wow! I go to a lot of barbecue places all around the country. It's my favorite type of food. This place has been the best so far. I understand that everybody likes a different flavor and taste, but this one is perfect for me. The sauce was sweet. The meat was delicious, Juicy, and falling apart. The mac and cheese had a little bit of spice to it which was perfect. Today was beef rib Friday. So I ordered that and a taste of brisket. The beef rib came as a giant chunk of meat with no bone. I was surprised. It was delicious!

So damn good; highly recommend half gout to try a little bit of everything!

Brisket— amazing!
Ribs—cooked to perfection!
Sausage—tangy with the right amount of spice!

Overall highly recommend!

We have had barbecue across the country and this is among the best we have had. This includes places like Kansas City, Memphis, Dallas... The standard for me is how good the brisket and ribs are. Here it is amazing every-time we stop in. Luckily its not in our home town or I would be 50#'s heavier. Always order plenty so we have take home as it heats up so well. Staff is always so friendly and helpful!

Absolutely delicious food, a warm "at home" atmosphere, and pleasant staff. Will definitely be coming here more often!!

I always look for BBQ when I travel. The reviews sold me on J.R.'s. The food was amazing! I had brisket and my two sides were cole slaw and baked beans. Meat was so flavorful...great crust on it... barely used any sauce. Highly recommend!

Super cute barbecue place! We love barbecue and we’re foodies, always looking for a new place to check out. Brisket was out of this world. Brisket nachos, basically set me in a good mood for the rest of the day and then ALL the sides. Had me singing how much I loved JRs Rhodehouse BBQ pit lol can’t wait come back for more

Came in today for lunch with my husband and son. He got brisket and I got pulled pork. The brisket didn't make it back to rapid city and he was begging me to turn around to get another sandwich. The pulled pork is also amazing, juicy. The sauce is perfect. The potato salad is amazing. Highly recommend. Prices are awesome for the huge portions. You can tell the meat has been smoked for hours. I grew up in Alabama and this is the southern bbq I've craved for years. 1000/10 we will be back!

My only complaint is he is to close to my house....it's way to easy to stop by for that delicious BBQ. The quality and consistency of the food is unmatched anywhere in the 5 state area. If you like BBQ you will LOVE THIS PLACE...they even cater....I'm getting hungry just reviewing this place...WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!!!!

Well deserved high ratings and praise. I have enjoyed both the brisket and pulled pork. The staff is friendly and service quick. This is by far the best BBQ in Rapid City.

There is nothing bad to say about this place. The pulled pork sandwich was perfectly cooked, and with the toppings of Jalapeños and pickles it made it even more exceptional. The Mac & Cheese was unique from any other kind I've ever had. It was creamy and just melted in my mouth. They also had a large variety of drinks, even including Jarritos soda. With the incredible smell and BBQ decorations scattered around, I knew from the moment I walked in that the food would be amazing.

Really great experience here. Food was incredible and reasonably priced. Got here at opening and there was quick moving line.
Recommend all three meats we had, brisket pulled pork and ribs. No bad choices. Pickles jalapeños and onions seemed pickle in spot and really fresh. Family running the joint seemed to really care about the place and people coming through it.

The only negative I can possibly think of is they were already sold out of the beef ribs when we arrived and we weren't in town long enough to get to try them! We ended up getting some brisket - actually moist! And pork ribs and sausage. All were great and the closest to being in Texas that we've had without actually being in Texas.

WOW! No sauce needed here folks! Pulled pork was very good. Hot link was great. The brisket... the brisket was hands down, the best I've had in my life! Phenomenal. I will be back the next time I drive through here.

We happened upon this gem during a cross-country move. I am from Kansas City, so I didn’t have high expectations but THIS IS THE BEST BBQ I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. UNREAL. The restaurant is spotlessly clean and a great vibe.

We had pulled pork, slaw and beans (the pickled onions are incredible). The BBQ sauce - perfection.

If I could move this joint to KC it would be the only BBQ I would eat.

This is one of the top BBQ restaurants we have eaten at and trust me we have eaten at sooo many bbq places in many different states!!

Brisket was sooo good… well seasoned!! All of the sides were great… esp baked beans everything was flavorful with good seasoning!! Nothing at all bland like some bbq places!!!

We are from Indy travelling through the West otherwise I would be a regular customer!!

Great find on our cross country road trip. We have eaten at many places over the past 2 week and we rank this number 1! And I am saying #1 in service, atmosphere and food! My husband and I shared the 1 meat platter and chose brisket, beans and mac n' cheese. (More than enough food for the two of us!) Brisket was thick cut and moist and it had a great bark/smoke ring. They also had great condiments to go along with our wonderful meal of slices jalapenos, pickled onions and spicy dill pickles all nice and chilled on ice! Don't forget to ask for the spicy BBQ sauce if that is your thing my husband said it was wonderful! Definitely recommend JRs Roadhouse!

Moved up to Rapid City from Houston, where we know excellent BBQ. JR's is excellent BBQ. The brisket is flavorful, the beans are delicious but what stole the show for us last night was the Hot Sausage Links. Oh my gosh, those are amazing. Even bought extras before we left to have it at home this morning with breakfast.

The best bbq in the area! Fresh and flavorful every time. They are very friendly as well! Highly recommend as they have a variety of items to choose from!

Found some awesome brisket in Rapid City South Dakota.
Best BBQ Brisket I’ve ever had outside of Texas! Also some great folks running the place!
