My first visit there I ordered the #currychicken and it was very delicious and a nice large portion size! The food was #hot and #fresh. My friend had #jumbo #fried #shrimp and #fries, also delicious and worth the price!

Second visit I had the #Somalian #Steak #sandwich which tasted delicious! The fries were cold this time but when I brought them to be warmed up they gave us a whole new batch and offered for us to keep the cold ones. Great food and great service overall!

Lunchtime this place is very popular as employees from the local businesses come for a quick lunch. While that is an endorsement for the food, there can be a long line. It moves quickly though -- mostly because the menu is simplified so that most of it is pre-prepared.

Still very delicious! I got the Yassa Chicken bowl on couscous. The chicken looks plain and not as flavorful as I was hoping. The couscous carries the dish with a touch of citrus (I think).

Ive had the sambusa last year. The beef sambusa was/is amazing.

Afro Deli ticks all the boxes that makes for a good experience: great value, service, and food. Now, I wouldn't say this food will change your life but for the portions and quality, it was pretty dang good. I ordered the lamb chapati wrap and fries which came with their house made tomatoe aioli. It was both delicious, filling, and is convenient for individuals who need to get something tasty and fresh to go. It wasn't too busy either so I was able to order, chat it up quick with the servers, and get out in a reasonable amount of time.

I love this place. Get the Chicken Fantastic!! Second review. I got the steak dinner, it was blah. I hate it when there isnt a picture and they advertise the dish as steak, but its really thinly sliced beef. The meat wasn't tasty nor juicy. The flavor was strong, but didnt match my standard of yummy. It can very well match others. The chicken fantastic is still the best dish!! * Came back and had the Somalian Steak Sandwich. Its okay. The fries are good though.

I travelled from Costa Rica to MN and Afro Deli & Grill was a place that people kept recommending to me.

I loved it, super tasty, and the staff was so friendly, they walked me through their plates.

I’m back in CR and I keep dreaming of their food.

Great place! The food was delicious, the service quick, the prices fair and well served dishes. If you are a vegetarian there are choices for you too. Highly recommended it and we will definitely go back when we visit St. Paul again.

This is the best lunch you’ll find in the cities by far! Seriously, everything on their menu is phenomenal. They’re the sweetest folks who serve up some delicious food that I actually dream about. I highly recommend their sambusas, they’re perfectly fried without being too heavy. Plus they’ve got lots of vegetarian meals and a very sunny, welcoming environment. Great selection for a kids menu if you’re visiting downtown with kids, too!

Right in the heart of St. Paul Afro Deli has an interesting combination of Mediterranean and African food. The service is very fast and looks like it's a nice spot to eat during the summer time since they have a nice outdoor section. The food was tasty. We got the Chicken Gyro and the Afro Steak dinner.
4.5* leaning to 5 since it took them sometime to come over and clean the table as they were slightly dirty from previous customers.

Afro Deli catered for parties. I'm so thankful my workplace used their services, that's how I got to know this amazing restaurant. The food and drinks, the service, everything is great! I love their falafels, the spicy chicken wings and I'm addicted to the mango drink. Highly recommended for caterings and your everyday yummy food cravings.

Food is amazing! Get the chicken fantastic, sambusas, coconut shrimp and hot sauce! Really glad they opened a Saint Paul location with extended hours. It's crazy busy during the weekday lunch hour. Best time to go is after 5pm.

I walked here for lunch during the work week recently, not really knowing what to expect. I'm so glad I did! I have been back since. The staff has always been really friendly, answering my questions and providing their recommendations when I asked. I have tried the Somali Steak Sandwich, Chapati Wrap and the Beef Sambusa's. Everything has been delicious, including the fries that come with the wrap and sandwiches - get the Creole sauce!

Yum the lamb gyro and sweet potato fries were so good and big portion! The fries came with some kind of tasty dipping sauce as well. Only around $9 for gyro and the side of fries. Ordered online and was ready to go in minutes. Can’t wait to go back.

Love this place! Really good food. The Somali spice tea is very good too. Staffs are nice as well.

Wow! I was out walking wondering where I should go for a late lunch....and as I walked down 7th Place...the smell lofting out of the building made me stop in my tracks and say to myself...." Why have I never tried this place?!" So I stopped in and I am happy I did! I was greeted by the sweetest girl asking if I had questions...and while I checked out the menu I asked her what her favorite was...and she mentioned the steak sandwich...so I ordered it. It was PERFECT! Portion size was big enough to know down 6' 4" 250lb guys hunger...and the portions of meat/bread/veggies were great! (Wish it had a little more veggies though...) The taste... amazing! All for a reasonable price? Yup!
There was a guy behind me that said his favorite was the chicken fantastic...so that's next (I'm guessing tomorrow at this point)...
If you have not been here...you need to go! Vegetarian options....Gluten free options (my wife is celiac so huge plus) with food that is freshly made and has more taste than anything ever imagined by a fast food place!

Vegan options at Afro Deli🤗💯🥰. I love the vibe here, good service like frfr. I was really hoping for the Veggie Sandwich, ya 💣🥺🎯 like they was out but still satisfying.

The wedding I went to yesterday served various items from AfroDeli and I was totally blown away! The salad and wraps were fantastic---- oh and the baklava was terrific, too.I will be adding AfroDeli to my list of Go-To restaurants in the Twin Cities.

Incredible, amazing food. Tried a gyro, sambusa, falafel and plantains with Somali sweet tea. Everything was soo good. Friendly helpful staff. If I lived in the city I’d probably be here all the time. Definitely recommend.

I was in the neighborhood and saw this come up as a restaurant near by, I am soooooo happy I came here. My roosted veggies sandwich and sweet potato fries are cooked to perfection. Its my first time enjoying baklava and boy is it good. I'm a vegitarian and it can be difficult to order at some restaurants but this place has options. Vegitarian, Vegan, gluten free, religious diet friendly options! I will definitely be back. Thanks for the sandwich reccomendation! Support this business, they do not disappoint!
