Rival House Sporting Parlour

Staying at the Doubletree from out of town. Betty was my server and she was very kind.

I got the apple walnut salad and it was great! Not a bad portion size either.

Seemed like a good spot to pop-in and grab a drink from. They have TV’s with games on as well.

Edit: I came in a 2nd time and Betty remembered me and greeted me with a huge smile! Made me feel very welcome. Sisay from the to-go stand was so friendly, we literally chatted for 20 mins haha. Thoroughly enjoyed that.

I got the Apple Walnut salad again, with the tots (added Parmesan cheese) and it was a 10/10.

The manager (I assume) dressed super fly and was extremely nice as well.

I’m definitely a big fan of this place now.

I wish to add to the original post after the restaurant manager reached out after the review. It was nice to know that this is an establishment that wants to make right and rectify a situation in hopes of making it a positive experience.

The service was very friendly and accommodating and worth a stop. My husband and I did very much enjoy some local beers at the bar and because of the time taken by the manager, we would stop back if ever in St. Paul again. Thanks Josh for being a caring and professional leader.

My husband and I were staying at the hotel for an event in town. We came down to the bar around 3 to have drinks while we waited for the kitchen to open at 4. At 4, he ordered an appetizer of 6 piece dry rub chicken wings. I ordered a 6 piece of blackberry glazed wings. We were both extremely hungry as we hadn’t eaten since breakfast. I had one of mine and thought it was horribly dry. He had one of his and apparently thought the same because we each had two of our own, and couldn’t eat anymore despite our hunger. The bartender came to clear our plates and asked, “was everything amazing?” We said unfortunately it wasn’t, it was dry and we couldn’t eat anymore. He said , “I’m sorry”, took the baskets, and that was it. We were charged for both appetizers, still tipped well, and went somewhere else for good food. Very disappointing the lack of customer care. We were never mean or impolite. Hope they improve for the next visitor.

Came here for lunch before I left back home. I had the fish and chips and it was really good. The only thing to the people having this fish for the first time is that it does have some bones to watch out for. It was great regardless and great service

We came here for a work happy hour and had a few apps. The cheese curds were good and I really enjoyed the seasoned tots! The happy hour prices are unbeatable. I stopped back in for dinner the next night since it’s in my hotel. I had the chopped salad with beets and goat cheese and chicken. It was sooo good! I had planned to order a small side to take to the room but was full from the salad. Service is great as well.

The whole staff is amazing. Seesay is a wonderful hostess. Betty is always my favorite server. They treat you like royalty.

Delicious flat bread pizzas and food. Some board games to play, ski-ball and other games. There are TV's to watch the game but they don't overwelm the atmosphere. Can't wait to go back!

Dom and Betty are were phenomenal hosts as we enjoyed some delicious local craft beers. Terrific, low key atmosphere, with extremely friendly staff, and great food. Highly recommend!!

Best cocktails ever! The bartender made custome drinks for me and my colleagues. Super friendly service too. Will definitely come back. Support this place!

Who knew corn in pizza was missing from my life? I sure didn't until I tried it!

We went for dinner and drinks on a double date. Our waiter was so personable and he was a ton of fun! The appetizers were good and pizzas were unique flavors that were delicious. Our waiter recommended the cocktails and they were all well made and he was spot on with the recommendations! We will definitely be back!

Felice was my server, and she was so delightful, and spunky. Our food was great, and the service was amazing! I had the salmon salad, and my uncle had the rival cheeseburger. I was surprised to not see a manager actively greeting tables, and asking about their experience. It seemed busy, but the staff all seemed to be in great spirits, and they didn't miss a beat between the front, and the back of the house. Keep up the great work! Can't wait for my next meal at Rival House!

Yummy pizza, fun vibe, good 80s tunes. Our waiter Dominic was super friendly and took great care of our table.

Dominic is the most attentive, best server I’ve had in literal years.

I’m often critical of service having been in the industry. Wow - keep this guy around as long as you can.

Dominic was, is and will continue to be the GOAT of rival house. He let me borrow his mclaren for the first date with my NOW wife. He named my first child. He saved me from an IED and lent me the loan on my first house. He is a king and deserves a raise and a promotion.

We came here for an appetizer and a drink for our anniversary. We each had a delicious tap beer. We ordered the French Fries, they were fine. The were the perfect crispy and soft and piping hot. I wish we had tried the alternate doing sauce. I'm not a fan of ketchup but that's not their fault. We didn't take advantage of all the games they have. Well have to come back to try the sauces and play some games!

This place has AMAZING food. I consider myself to have a picky palate and the food was fantastic!

I was staying at a nearby hotel for business and meet some colleges for lunch at the DoubleTree's restaurant, the rival house. Lunch was not that great and we left. Later I meet a good friend for dinner and that's where she wanted to go, hesitant to go from my experience that day, I met her there. They were busy and actually the manager there Coleen ended up seating us and said our server would be with us soon. Well he never came and she just stepped right in, apologized and ended up helping us the whole time. She was being called in 10 different directions but never once did we feel like we were not important. Always smiling, laughing with us, taking time to answer questions about the menu. Hardly ever do you see a manager of a restaurant take so much time with a guest but also take pride in their job. At the end we told her we were going to write a review about how good she was and she said if we were going to, just write about how delicious the food was, the great cocktails and that we loved the atmosphere, no need to mention her, there is alot of people that make it happen. Now that right there is an amazing leader, she wanted to make sure they all get credit and not just her. Kudos to Coleen, thanks for making my visit memorable

Yum!! Everything here is so tasty and is a step above your typical bar menu. They also have a great side room to rent, and my clients who are getting married at Doubletree love to hang out here with their wedding party and take some photos. Great spot in St. Paul!
