Kemi was amazing! She fixed my locs and made me feel very comfortable. She even taught me so much about how to care for them and make them last longer. She went over and above to make me feel fresh! 100% I recommend her all day every day.

I got my hair done last Monday here by two women. They both did a really good job and i’m really really happy with how my hair turned out. They made sure I was comfortable and okay with how they wer doing my hair, although they’re the professionals❤❤❤❤. They were so sweet to me and I loved the conversations we were having, I felt really comfortable. I’m normally not super social but they made sure for me to feel out of my quiet zone which I liked. Kemi and everyone at Bonita’s were so fantastic! I got a full sew-in and it turned out great! I struggle with hair loss and Kemi worked a miracle! I now have a full head of hair and have had a wonderful experience to go along with it. The only hiccup that occurred was because the company that makes the hair sent the wrong color, but Kemi made sure to keep me in the loop and got the correct color shipped in right away. I love my hair and will definitely be returning!

Bonitas Extensions and braids is the best place to go and take your state braiding and sanitation license class. The owner Kemi is very informative and she has over 10 years in the Education and services aspect of the salon business. I learn so much in my 30hrs class and now I am a licensed stylist. The class is very affordable and it is the best investment. The salon is very clean and welcoming, I was able to see the insider way of conducting business while I was in my class. I am thankful for choosing to take my sanitation class with Bonitas Extensions and I will be referring students her way. Bonitas Extensions is the best place to go in Minnesota and Minneapolis area.

Yesterday was my second time using Bonitas and for the second time I was greeted, given a thorough consultation to make sure they new what I wanted. The salon and staff were still just as welcoming and friendly as the last time. They made me feel like choosing them to do my hair is not taken lightly and that I am more than just money sitting in the chair. They actually made me want to get my hair done more regularly. I have been coming to Bonitas for almost seven years. My family had just moved to Minnesota and I was looking for a place to get my hair done. Whenever I come in, my service is always excellent, and Kemi does an amazing job ensuring comfort and an excellent service! My brother also got his dreads started here and loves them! I, along with my mother and brother all have come here and have only positive things to say for Kemi and the great business that she runs here! I look no further when I need any hair braiding done!

Went in for small, long box braids (20 inch) on really short hair (2-4 inch) and I couldn't be happier! As mentioned in other reviews, it can be a bit pricey, but it is well worth the price for the time and effort these women put into their clients' hair and wellbeing while in the shop.

For one thing, the hair is provided, which was a blessing for someone who 1) has extremely dense hair per square inch, and 2) doesn't know a whole lot about where and how to buy hair in the Twin Cities. I could not be more grateful for how my hair turned out and for how well I was taken care of. I'm a bit shy and awkward, but I felt totally at ease at Bonita's; the atmosphere is fun and relaxed (fun conversation, movie/music in the background, freedom to just read/listen to music/vibe if you want, etc.), and the stylists are extremely friendly and very attentive. They repeatedly checked in with me about how I was feeling pain-wise, if I needed anything (offered me free food and drink several times!), and if the hair was turning out how I wanted. Very early in the braiding, some of the braids turned out a little longer than I initially wanted (they were turning out ~24in I think) but my stylist brought it up right away, genuinely offered several times to redo it to the original length, and didn't charge me extra when I said the new length was okay and that I actually really liked it for the rest of the braids. I say this to highlight how attentive and thorough these stylists are, not in any way as a complaint - I was totally cool with it and I'm so happy now that it's all done. Really, the hair turned out great - fantastic parting, secure/tight braiding, the size I wanted, etc. - and I couldn't be happier.

For other context, this is my second time getting braids at Bonitas. I was solidly sold after my first visit just before the pandemic in late 2019/early 2020. I've always struggled with my hair as a mixed person growing up in a small rural town (not Minnesota). When I came in the first time, I was very discouraged to be as old as I was and so unknowledgeable about my own hair and the process of doing it. My stylist was very encouraging and kind, calling me and my hair "blessed" - the nicest thing a haircare professional has ever said to me.

I loved my experience, it was more than great with amazing hospitality and the conversation was awesome and Mrs.Kemi did an amazing job on my hair. I'm over joyed. I drove 6hrs and I'll do it again ❤🙏
