I have had a lot of dental problems and can safely say Dr. Thompson is one of the more talented dentists I have visited. She was able to help with a painful abscessed tooth the day I called. She also did a great job on a crown.

Amazing Dr. Thompson, she takes care of my whole family and we are so happy! She is an amazing person who knows what she’s doing. She is skilled in areas such as cosmetics that most aren’t. Great staff. Highly recommended!

I had to use another dentist for 2 years that was horrible! Dr Thompson takes my insurance now and I can't wait to go back! I have high recommendations for her!

I came in to see what these guys were all about due to a $99 zoom whitening offer they had advertised on Groupon (something my normal dentist charges about $500 for).

Maybe I'm spoiled, maybe I'm snobby, but I chose to go to their Encinitas location because I wanted a higher level of service (you would expect things would be nicer in Encinitas vs Escondido). I'm not sure how their Escondido office looks, but walking in to their Encinitas one, I kept thinking I was in Escondido. Very run down sketchy looking place...one of those generic signs on the window that just says "dentist".

Upon entering I was greeted by a nice young lady who then asked me to fill out some paperwork for the treatment they would be doing. As I was filling it out, I was asked when the last time I went to the dentist was...about a month ago.

Their attitude changed immediately. I was still open to hearing what they had to say and letting them do their thing (never hurts to get a second opinion right?)

They take me in the back to a room and sit me down, Dr Salazar comes in and stands behind me talking to his assistant for a few minutes before he even comes over to introduce himself to me. (coming from a customer service background, even if you have other things to do/prepare, I fell you should always at least acknowledge your customer first)

He then sits down and starts looking at my teeth and coming up with a list of "problems" and work that needs to be done. He asked me when my last dentist visit was. "last month". And how many more treatments does he have planned for you? Because you need a lot of work. "none. We finished everything up last month"

Then he goes on to tell me that I have all these cavities, and that I need to have a crown/cap placed on a baby tooth that I still have in so it will make the tooth on the top of my mouth stop growing (has anyone ever heard of that before?)

Then he tells me "I can't confirm any of it without looking at X-rays, but it looks like we have some work to do"

They then go in and do the whitening procedure (which hurt like crazy), then came in and took the stuff off and said "have a great day"

Very weird vibe...if you are looking for a new dentist, don't try these guys.

My big concern is, if there was all this work that needed to be done, how come my dentist didn't mention any of it to me? Seems like these guys are just trying to scam you for as much money as they can get.

Came there because of cavity but they cant' or won't do it unless they do other expensive works totaling over $4,000. We'll I still have the cavity and still looking for a dentist who will work on specific problem. Stay away from this dentist.

Rude. Doesn't care what you're feeling during procedures. Rough. Cops an attitude if I say I can feel pain or discomfort during procedure and says that you dont. Always pushes buying things I don't need after I repeatedly say NO. I would never recommend going here. I walked out after being numbed and starting a tooth extraction cus her attitude and carelessness never gets better. Multiple members of my family had this same experience.

I called my new dentist, Dr Marlene Thompson DDS, and explained that I recently switched insurance and have not been to this office, but I'm having a dental emergency and need to be seen right away. The receptionist told me she doesn't have any new patient openings until November. Whether or not there are new patient is not a concern at this time. What is a concern is a broken molar and excruciating pain. She said that she understands what I'm going through, so she will schedule an emergency appointment for me 2 weeks from now. This is absolutely unacceptable. If a patient calls you with an emergency, you get that person in. I would certainly be understanding if my dentist called me and had to cancel a cleaning because another patient had an emergency. This is not right.

This lady is a wack job, she is the WORST dentist ever, if I could give her zero stars I would! I went to Dr. Thompson because I didn't have dental insurance and I thought that it couldn't hurt. I have gone to my regular dentist, every 6 months for 21 years, and I went in for just a cleaning since it would be cheaper here with the groupon then with my regular dentist. worst decision ever! I have had 2 cavities my whole life and after my cleaning she used a laser and told me when I hear a beep that means there is a cavity; she told me I had SEVEN cavities and that 4 of my filling need to be redone. To my surprise I had no clue what she was talking about as I had gone to my normal dentist 6 month earlier and I had one cavity that was filled the next week... I have two fillings in my mouth including the one I got 6 months prior. I asked what she was talking about since I didn't even have as many fillings as she claimed in my mouth and she told me I was wrong and didn't know what I was talking about. She suggested I schedule an appointment to start getting the $2000 worth of dental work that I needed done, I did not schedule an appointment.

I recently went to my normal dentist and a year later still have yet had any of the seven cavities that Dr. Thompson said I had and I got x-rays and neither of my two fillings were cracked like she said and I didn't have 2 other fillings that she also said I had. She is a scam and just wants people to get unnecessary dental work so she can make a profit. This lady is a quack and I would stay very far away from her and her office! Spend the extra money to see a dentist that knows what they are talking about.

Also, if you go in once they will never stop calling you to "remind" you to schedule your follow up appointments even if you ask to have your chart shredded.

Consider yourself warned. Went in for a cleaning with a coupon. Told I needed a bunch of work (deep cleaning and 8 fillings). My mom, retired from dental field, said no way, get a second opinion. Paid to go to a different dentist two days later. He said my gums were in great shape and, based on my description of the procedure, I never needed or had a deep cleaning and I only needed two fillings. If you are told you need a bunch of work - get a second opinion.

LOOK THAT UP ON YELP AND READ THE REAL REVIEWS. 1.3 STARS. I PROBABLY HAD 7 OTHER DENTISTS THAT WORKED ON ME IN BOTH OFFICES. I MUST HAVE BEEN IN THERE TWICE A MONTH SO SHE COULD DO HORRIBLE WORK AND SCAM MEDICAL. I NEED 3 TEETH PULLED DUE TO HER DENTISTS GREED. PLEASE REPORT HER TO MEDICAL. SHE RUINED MY POOR MOUTH. I NEED TEETH PULLED THAT WERE IN PERFECT SHAPE DUE TO HER DAILY QUOTAS. I CANT WAIT UNTIL SHE HAS TO ANSWER TO CHRIST. THE NAME SHE USES TO ABUSE US ALL.

Very rude and forced me to do unnecessary procedures (photo, not x-ray) that my insurance doesn't cover.
