I cannot say enough good things about purely dental! Dr. Salazar and his team are amazing. They are kind and professional and take excellent care of you. Dr. Salazar is extraordinary!! He is the best cosmetic dentist there is, I purposely sought him out because I knew I wanted him to be the one to work on my teeth, And he completely transformed my smile and I will be forever greatful!!

Dr. Salazar and his team provide the best dental care I have experienced. He combines artistic attention to detail with professional expertise and a warm personality to make going to the dentist an enjoyable experience. I rarely smiled and required extensive work to correct my teeth and I'm delighted with the outcome! Other dentists wanted to do surgery on my jaw to realign my teeth and Dr. Salazar was able to realign the bite without surgery. I have been a patient of Dr. Salazar's for over 10 years. About five years ago I moved to LA from San Diego. I still drive two hours to see Dr. Salazar at least once a year when it is x-ray time. I truly trust him reading my x-rays. I have a dentist that I see in LA for cleanings and emergencies, but Dr. Salazar is still my dentist! He has a very gentle manner to him and is not pushy or arrogant at all. Yesterday, I came to his beautiful new ultra modern office for the first time. Carolyn at the reception desk is the best and she always tries to accommodate me with my appointments coming in from out of town. Carolina cleaned my teeth and she was very gentle and through. I even enjoyed the comfy chair and flat screen TV with head phones. Also, don't forget his wife Dr. Schreiner, she cleaned my teeth the last time and is great as well! For those lucky enough to live in San Diego or North County, look no further for an excellent dental office!

Dr. Salazar takes the time and effort to consider your mouth and health as a whole rather than just filling one cavity at a time. I also really like his communication (the show and tell). With other dentists I felt like I was at an auto mechanic and they were telling me the Fetzer Valve needed to be replaced. You just have to either believe them, or not. Dr. Salazar provides evidence and communication at every step. Finally, the office is well run. This is important because it means that I have never shown up for an appointment and waited. They have always been on-time.

Without hesitation I give Dr. Salazar my highest recommendation. After 14 years of mediocre dental care in San Diego I was referred to Dr. Salazar by a local Endodontist who understood my frustration. I was fortunate to have had a wonderful dentist for many years before moving to San Diego so I knew what I was missing.

From my very first visit, Dr. Salazar and Staff were welcoming and professional. After my initial consultation my gut feeling was that I had found a GREAT dentist. Dr. Salazar took time to examine my teeth, review my dental history, and understand how an injury 25 years ago had gradually effected all my teeth over time. I trusted that Dr. Salazar was the right Dentist to restore my smile and he put a comprehensive plan together.

Fast forward to today, my teeth are healthier than they have been for decades and my smile looks great! During the course of the restoration we did come to some obstacles however. At one point my teeth (specifically my front tooth with an injury from 25 years ago) was not cooperating with the plan. Dr. Salazar paused the restoration and took time after hours to consult with an Endodontist, Periodontist, and Orthodontist before making any decisions on how to move forward. This resulted in an outcome that was definitely the best case scenario for me. I can't tell you how relieving it feels to have a Dentist that truly had my best interests in mind.

Even more important than the the outstanding care I have received from Dr. Salazar is the great comfort in knowing that I can trust my growing family's dental health to Dr. Salazar (hopefully for many years to come)!

A crown I had cracked and completely broke late this past Thursday night. I was scheduled to fly back east for my nephews wedding on Friday. My dentist is off on Friday. I didn’t know who to call. I read the reviews for Purely Dental and called their office early Friday morning. Carolyn and the rest of the staff went above and beyond and fit me into their morning schedule. The whole staff was amazing!

Dr James Salazar was so incredibly helpful. He took the extra step during a FREE consultation to show me how a bonding treatment would look.
He spent his valuable time with me; explaining to me how the upper and lower teeth work in unison and that merely correcting the appearance of the teeth would not correct the underlying issues.

I had a filling done to one of my wisdom teeth and honesty I don't even know which one got worked on. There was no pain at all. I like how gentle my dentist is and the fact that I never had to wait for more than 5 min. The staff always had my paper work ready before I arrive which saves a lot of time too. Their office is modern, clean and just nice. I enjoyed visiting purely dental every time.

I went to see Dr. Salazar today. I had my wisdom teeth pulled 2 months ago and my bite felt different and I keep biting the inside of my cheek. Dr. Salazar took his time and really llistened to my problem. I look forward to returning to this office to see what treatment plan he has worked out for me!!
