St Vincent Catholic Church Basalt

I had a pleasant experience at this church with it's refined ambience. Very peaceful and a good place to connect with God.

Father Rick is the best.... join us for a great Mass and homily.

The current deacon is extremely inappropriate. As a first time visitor, I went to this church with my family. Out of a nervous habit of mine, I tend to chew gum a lot throughout the day. Before leaving the house, I had a piece of gum I was chewing on that I had forgot I even had in my mouth. Anyways, during communion, I still had my gum in my mouth that I had forgotten to spit out. Walking up, once I accepted the communion, the deacon gives me a nasty look. Behind me is my aunt, which he proceeded to tell her that “she has gum in her mouth” when she went next. A few of my family members noticed this. What a great example of a deacon, right? Ha. After mass, we were helping my gpa walk to the car. The deacon calls me out in front of my family, basically harassing me over a piece of gum (that was on the side of my mouth, not even chewing/smacking). This deacon is honestly pathetic and needs an ego check. Or he needs to stick to his 9-5 job in the real world and stop power tripping. I didn’t want to go to the church in the first place, but for the respect of my family i did. Definitely won’t be going back. If i do, I’ll make sure to bring a pack of bubble gum.
Also, the preacher is overall cringe and gives a bad vibe for someone who preaches “kindness”. Definitely can find someone better and I hope they do before they lose more members.

Where is the altar? Where is the tabernacle? Is this even a Catholic Church?
