I have to say that I was excited, I have been living in Virginia for a long time and I have never been able to enjoy a typical Cuban food, at least if it was not made by me. But the place surprised me, good service, the food was very good. I love the details of the place, it is quite simple but cozy. definitely a place where it made me feel like I was at home. A good Cuban bread and a delicious coffee. I can wait to bring my friends and family next time.

An authentic Cuban restaurant in Chesapeake?! This place has very authentic food and a huge selection of mojitos! We really enjoyed the experience here and the food was good! Also has a full bar with many beers on tap. Service here was excellent! The bay of pigs nachos were my favorite part! Will definitely be back! Oh and they have happy hour!

Heard about this place from a group I'm a part of online and was pleasantly surprised to hear there was a Cuban place here in Hampton Roads!
Drove up to restaurant and was surprised how spacious it is and they have a dedicated outside seating!
Staff was super friendly and inviting gave suggestions and were very attentive! They speak Spanish also! Owner came out and greeted us and we chatted for a while!
Food was the bomb.com! Giant portions and more than enough food to share items. We got the Cuban Crisis Fries and let me tell you that its a meal all on its own! Its HUGE and delicious!
We had Pineapple Mojito and a Mango Mojito, both delicious and couldn't taste the alcohol so you be the judge if thats good or bad! More drinks for me in my opinion!
We tried the Ropa Vieja and Lechon Asado and wow! I felt like I was back in FL eating Cuban food I grew up on! So much flavor, also large portions and both came with 2 sides!
Would highly recommend this place to everyone! Its added to my must go to list of places!

Must Try!!! Inviting atmosphere with great service. Happy hour prices are great and you will have the best mojitos here. The food was superb; I highly recommend the cuban sandwich and the tostones. Everything we ordered was excellent and the prices were affordable. Mojitos during happy hour were only $5 we will definitely be back. Happy hour is from 11am-1pm and 5pm-7pm and Sundays all day.

We went with a group of 11. We got the bay of pigs nachos, couple of cubanos, ropa vieja and the berry Cuban salad. Everything was spectacular. The fries are spiced and delicious. I wish I had remembered to take pictures because all the food looked so lovely but it smelled too good and I forgot to stop. The bar is well stocked and a beautiful array of monitors.

11/11 would return.

If you want the best kept secret in Chesapeake this is it. The best Cuban food in the 757 hands down. The service is so awesome. They didn't miss a beat I have found my new hangout. Thanks to the fantastic people who own this.

Finally!! Some delicious authentic Cuban food! We live in Suffolk and this is the closest place. This is the best Cuban food I've had since leaving south Florida. We ordered ropa vieja (shredded brisket) with tostones, rice and beans and a side of yuca frita (fried casava) with the garlic dipping sauce 🤤. My husband ordered the media noche sandwich (midnight sandwich) with maduros. He enjoyed his food too. The ropa vieja was tender and very flavorful. I ordered a pineapple mojito, it was very good too. They have many flavors for mojitos too. They have a very nice open space indoors with music playing in the background and seating outdoors. I also ordered an arroz con leche (rice pudding). It was good, but for me it was missing a little sweetness and the beans could've been seasoned more, but that's my taste. Service was great and we enjoyed the atmosphere. We met the owner and he was very friendly and hospitable. I plan on going back to try their other dishes and take friends.

So my family and I were looking at a house for possible purchase in this area and came across this restaurant and decided to make a quick stop to pick up a couple to go items. We became very interested when they had a Cuban sandwich on the menu. So coming from a Cuban restaurant our interest was automatically peaked for an authentic Cuban sandwich. Really like the fact that it was a veteran owned.
Wait staff was very friendly referring to everyone as "my friend". Even though we didn't stay to dine the Cuban sandwich was enough for us to give it five stars. The meat was not dry at all very tender, the bread was also moist with a little bit of crust on the outside just as you would expect for Cuban sandwich. Complete with sweet plantains. My wife and I did our best to share with our kids but devoured most of it ourselves ... LOL.
Maybe we'll dine in sometime but if you're looking for a place to pick up a Cuban sandwich for takeout you won't be disappointed which is what my review is solely based on along with the atmosphere and friendly wait staff. Price point was about what you would expect for Cuban sandwich. If I remember correctly right around $15 maybe a little higher with tip.

Had a wonderful birthday dinner with friends. I think we tried about every type of mojito and loved them all. Garrett was friendly and knowledgeable of the entire menu. I think my girlfriend was trying to pick him up. The owner was out when we came, but would've loved to have met him. I really enjoy his responses to the people who try and give one star ratings on here. We read them at work and laugh at the shutdowns. Good use of the video cameras!

6 Stars would be more adequate for this restaurant! Very clean, very inviting environment! The server was more than amazing and friendly! For the food, the Cuban is what you would imagine an authentic Cuban to taste like! The Maduros are delicious! I'll definitely be back in the near future to try more food!

One of the owners of pale horse coffee suggested that I try this place out. Great call on his and then my part, the food was great. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. It was not salty and seemed fairly healthy. The pork nachos were fantastic. There was four of us who went and each of our meals tasted great (Cuban sliders, fricassee de pollo, steak, and pork). Portion size was on point, not so much you feel like a slug but also enough where you feel full. Drinks were good. The bar looks really nice. It's a shame that they opened up during this crisis, otherwise I think the bar would be slammed. Kind of hoping that when we can go back to max capacity they do dance nights, the floor area is perfect for it. I'll definitely be back.

The service is always super friendly and the food is really fantastic. Limited menu due to pandemic situation but the Cubano and Media Noche are perfect! These sandwiches are always something I look forward to when my family visits Miami and this is such a nice reminder of the delicious Cuban fare that is often not available in the Mid-Atlantic region. Happy hour is also a nice treat to enjoy. Half price mojitos and draft beers. I had the Tsar Czar Tzar. It is a Russian stout with 12% ABV, very nice stout. The mojitos are also tasty and if you are up for trying a new drink, I had the privilege of enjoying my first taste of spicy margarita there, and it was an interesting experience. I will definitely be ordering one for myself next time.

Sooooo many flavors of mojitos! Our favorite ended up being the pineapple one. Great Cuban food, and out of this world drinks. We tried the tapas appetizer so we could get a sense for the different flavors of meat dishes and were glad we did. It really helped narrow down the dinner selection - so make great options to choose from.

We were driving from OBX to Charlottesville and I asked Google maps to find me restaurants on my route. This place popped up and we went for it.

Dios Mio! This place is fantastic. Our server, Kat, was so kind and welcoming. The food was outstanding! The Cuban sandwich was the best I have ever had. Perfectly balanced and grilled perfectly. The Picadillo was also excellent. Had it with rice and beans.

The restaurant was extraordinary clean and just a really cool find in a very remote spot. It was also very affordable. Lunch for two with two beers was like $45.

Just go!

Those of you who know me really well, know it takes a lot for me to recommend a restaurant. I much prefer cooking at home because make i can usually make a better meal than they can offer. That being said, I have the highest recommendation for this amazing new Cuban restaurant that opened up in Chesapeake called Cohiba. The empanadas were to die for ! The black beans and rice, tostones and plantain we're absolutely amazing. Ryan had the skirt steak with chimichurri and I had the Cuban sandwich and it did not disappoint in any way shape or form. We ended the evening with a beef pastelitos( momma loved these!) and the guava pastry and could not have been happier. Besides having amazing food and service it is veteran owned and operated and I will do everything I can to help promote their business because the food and service were on point! You're welcome!

This is a hidden treasure in Chesapeake. Some friends told us about this Cuban restaurant in Chesapeake about 12 min from house. The restaurant was amazing. Practice social distancing and safety precaution. Servers were professional , courteous, and knowledgeable. Food came quickly and presentation was good and the authentic Cuban taste was on point. My husband and I go to an excellent Cuban restaurant in Miami called Cafe Versailles. Old Cuban restaurant with grade a service and food. Cohiba is very close to our Miami eatery with their excellent food. You have to try the brisket and black beans and rice. Happy hour was good &cheap drinks but flavorful.

This is going to be one of my new go to spots. The food was simple but very flavorful. If I had a Cuban grandmother, this is what I would imagine she would be serving. The fried plantains were some of the best I have ever had.
