Midwest Outdoor Resorts

We thoroughly enjoyed our June 2020 vacation stay at Midwest Outdoor Resorts' Rushmore Shadows Resort & Campground just outside of Rapid City, SD. Even in the midst of a pandemic they made it an enjoyable experience. The entire resort was clean, well kept and the cabin rental we stayed in was awesome! We're so glad we're part of the Midwest Outdoor Resort family! We've already made our reservation to head back out to the Black Hills and Rushmore Shadows this summer!

We have just passed our 5 year membership anniversary. We were impressed with the rates for cabin rental, which is what pushed us over the edge to purchase a Lodge membership. Between the free week every year and the lodge and campground facilities, we have been very happy.
Hidden Bluffs is the closest resort to us from southern Wisconsin. We have been multiple times. The staff is very helpful to us when we need them, and even when we just stop by to browse or say hi.
Our kids ask every so often how soon we get to go back, which must mean that they look forward to it, as well!
I can't wait for them to be able to enjoy their memberships when they get older. We have been able to bring family members with us and they also have greatly enjoyed their time!
We have been to Rushmore Shadows once, and have desires to get to Ham Lake.
As they say in their presentations, membership may not be for you. It is certainly right for our family.

We just stayed at Ham Lake Resort for the first time and had an absolute wonderful time! Dwight and Jeff get top favorite from me for helping guide me into our spot being the first time hauling a camper I didn't know how! but with their help and support and patience I did it!!
There is so much to do at all the resorts and everyone is so kind!!

We have loved our time spent at all of the Midwest Outdoor Resorts! Our kids have such a great time and it is such an easy hassle-free way to get together with family and friends! We have spent time camping in our camper and have rented the cabins a few times!! We always look forward to our camping weekends!!

While my boys and I are avid campers, my husband isn't such a big fan. Midwest Outdoor Resorts membership wasn't right for us at this time but we loved our stay at Rushmore Shadows and had a great experience. Appreciated the precautions so people could still enjoy the outdoors safely!

We had SO much fun Glamping and feeling like we were in the “Old West”. It was a wonderful break from technology and we had so much family time. We friended our neighbors in the other wagons and can’t wait to take the trip back.

We enjoy more local to us get-a-ways at Hidden Bluffs and Ham Lake. I love that my teens like to make it a fun weekend cooking over the fire and just spending time as a family.

Love being here. Home sweet Home. The staff are always warm and welcoming. A beautiful place to visit. Amazing.

We are very happy with our MOR membership and love staying at Rushmore Shadows. We plan to visit MOR Resorts several times a year.

My family and I have been members now for over three years. We attended a seminar for our chance to win an ATV not knowing what we were getting into. We signed up that day and rolled the dice. That being said, it was the best move we have ever done. Having access to all the various resorts and additional membership benefits, have been outstanding. Any interactions with staff at Hidden Bluffs or Rushmore Shadows has been absolutely amazing at addressing our needs and providing a great place for our kids 9 and 7. We are making awesome family memories for us and our kids. We definitely recommend MOR to our friends and family. Worth it 100%.

I have been reading the reviews and I have to say Please do not believe what you read here. I am not quite sure why there are so many negative reviews. Let me set the record straight.
1. My family and I have had out membership for 1 year and last summer we enjoyed our stays at the Ham Lake camp ground. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Cabin was clean and campsite was perfect for a weekend get away.
2. As far as the membership I'm not sure where you can go camping in MN at the prices they offer and reserve your spot 60 days in advance. Each time I called we were able to be accommodated in less than 60 days. Now holidays might as well be different but hey holidays are not much different no matter where you go!
3. The staff at Midwest are very workable to make your payments in the event you fall on troubled times.
The reviews I read felt like possibly buyers remorse, meaning you were excited to go camping but not really campers. To you I say try again and make it simple. It's a great experience to share with your kids and other family members. I mean you DID buy a camping membership!

To those of you who are reading this review and think I work for Midwest I do NOT. My family and I had a great time and are very excited for the summer to come in 2020!

We love staying at Midwest outdoor resorts. It’s a nice way for our family of five to disconnect and get away. We have visited all 5 locations in the last couple years and we always have a hard time picking which one to go to being we absolutely love them all. The resort staff are always beyond friendly and helpful. Our kids love the campground stores..they always spy out the treats. We love the animals at ham lake a lot. The kids love riding bike at the spring grove campground..they always seem to find a muddy puddle when we go. We enjoy going to Hinkley with my in-laws for a family trip, being set up in those pods it’s very nice.

Friendly staff and atmosphere; good value of product! Received a phone call from this company stating I was a finalist in a sweepstakes (after entering the contest at my local mall to win an ATV). I was told I would receive several free gifts in exchange for listening to a sales presentation. I looked up the company on the better business bureau website and read several negative reviews from customers stating they were lied to or mislead or intimidated by staff in an attempt to sell them something. I was interested in the gifts and was adamant I would not be sold anything so I decided to go and brought my wife- we were pleasantly surprised by the low pressure environment, not what we were expecting at all. Every staff we came into contact with via phone or in person was very friendly and we actually ended up purchasing a lifetime membership. The rep encouraged us to just consider the program and decide if it was something we could use and if it wasn't for us, nobody would be bent out of shape. Reccomend this company if you like to camp, either RV tent or cabin or even just vacation in a hotel or resort. These guys have it all!

We are members and camp at Rushmore Shadows as much as we can....even though we live in New Mexico!! With family nearby as well as members, we absolutely love coming to our "SD Home"! We usually bring our granddaughters (ages 4 and 7 now) and they love it. It is so convenient and close to all the activities we love. We prefer the sites by the trees, but any are great. They are so spacious. And all the workers are friendly and helpful. If there are any issues, they are addressed immediately. I loved the addition of the coffee truck this year...it was a treat to walk down there. And the ice cream truck....waaaay to tempting for us...but love that too!

Here we are a couple days away from our 2 year anniversary of when we purchased our membership sitting around the campfire at Ham Lake Resort. Talking about how great the last 2 camping seasons have been. We have been to all 4 Minnesota locations and are planning to go for a week at Rushmore Shadows next year. All 4 locations have very clean facilities and all the help has been very friendly. We have never had any issues getting in at a location when we call to set up reservations. The Saturday activities for our kids have been great! Seeing the kids happy having fun is really what this has all been about for us. Looking forward to many more years of family fun with MOR!

We've been members since our kids (both now Affiliate Members) were small. Our "home" resort of Hidden Bluffs is the site of many great memories with family and friends--it has plenty to do, and also big sites and lots of shade for just relaxing. We've visited all the resorts and enjoy each for it's unique amenities and location. Can't wait to start camping this summer!

We've now camped at Hidden Bluffs, St. Croix River Resort, and Ham Lake. The attention to detail in service and the upkeep of grounds is top notch. The membership is a bit expensive, but you get what you pay for. UPDATE: After a full season on use, we are confident this was the right decision for our family. Aside from the quality of the campgrounds (and each one has their own, unique qualities that make them fun), the ability to roll into a campground on a Friday night without reservations and know you'll have a spot (with hook-ups!) is invaluable. We love state park camping, but a last minute weekend of camping is a luxury we didn't have before joining. We've easily found the value in our membership.

This was a great presentation very well presented and very friendly workers. They are definitely willing to work with you on financing options. Unfortunately it just wasn't the right timing for us financially. This is something great and we have a 5 kids who we would love to experience these great resprt locations with! Definitely highly recommend it!

Sam was very thorough with the information. She showed us the most affordable plans and made this experience a good one. Now we know how many resorts they own and the possibilities for traveling are endless. We came in today as people who camped in tents, but now we could build ourselves up from the pandemic and rise into people who travel the world for pleasure and family memories. Thank you so much Sam for an awesome afternoon.

We are members and stay frequently at Ham Lake... we absolutely love the new managers... they are so friendly and willing to help in any way they can. They want everyone to have a great time while camping and they always guarantee that it happens. You can always find them when you have a question or need anything at all. We always enjoy our stay at all of the resorts. But this is truly our favorite. Thanks to Dwight and Patty.

We have been members at Midwest Outdoor Resorts for a few years now. We love going here! The place is very clean, the staff are very friendly & helpful. We have used the tent camping sites, as well as the cabins. Both are nice. Love having this membership, as we don't have to worry about where to go when camping.
