Let's start with the tasting - My husband and I did 4 different tastings in 1 weekend. Downtown Catering was the 3rd out of 4 places we went to, but just midway through our tasting, we cancelled our 4th on the spot. We were 1000% sure we found THE best caterer to work with. Therese and Mike made us feel so welcomed. Being a younger couple, we felt that they really took us seriously - what we liked, what our guests might like, down to getting to know our story.

We decided to do a tapas-style dinner with 3 different smaller entrees. Every single dish was to die for.

On the day of the wedding, we couldn't stop getting compliments for the food. The cocktail hour wasn't just food to pass time, the quality and presentation were amazing and they really thought of all the details. They also worked with us to do a unique seating chart by having guests pick up champagne glasses and they thought of the idea of having a server pour champagne right when guests pick the glasses up.

Everyone had a plated ceasar salad and focaccia bread prior to dinner. I could have had 3 plates of the salad if possible. It was delicious.

For the tapas dinner we had steak, a shrimp pasta dish, and a chicken and mac n cheese. We feasted like crazy over the leftovers.

We will forever be grateful to Therese, Mike, and the entire downtown catering team (and bartenders!) for making our wedding a hit. We owe it to your amazing service and delicious food!

We knew that Therese and Mike Brown and the team at Downtown Catering would be good; in retrospect, they were EXCEPTIONAL in every regard. They are not typical. The food was heaven-like. We received countless comments from guests from the day of the event and throughout the past weeks. Therese is an incredibly gifted chef (anyone who has had the pleasure of experiencing the food she prepares knows what I mean). Mike is thoughtful and organized and anticipates all with kindness and generosity. Katie was kind, responsive and super easy to work with. There were many thoughtful instincts throughout the process of working with Downtown Catering Company. They absolutely understand hospitality and service, as well as excellence in one's work. Every person from Downtown Catering who helped at the reception was amazingly thoughtful and kind. The servers and bartenders were great the whole night, and at the end they all jumped in to help beyond the scope by helping pack up boxes and the like. Such a remarkable team. I cannot imagine a better caterer exists in the DMV. They set the bar exceedingly high. We recommend them unconditionally. There is a reason that all reviews are extraordinary--it's because they are extraordinary. With many thanks!

Downtown Catering did an amazing job on our wedding! Therese is so easy to work with, and the food was tremendous! We were so happy with the food and got many compliments. Furthermore, Downtown Catering took care of all kinds of details, like rental coordination, setting up, cleaning up, and saving the top of the cake. The wait staff was also amazing! Great catering company!

Downtown Catering Company received MVV (most valuable vendor) for our wedding day. They were absolutely exceptional. We received numerous compliments from our guests about the quantity and quality of the food, attentive service, attention to detail, short bar lines, and more. My dad (who can be a hard one to please!), couldn't speak more highly of the team. My husband and I were especially impressed and felt well taken care of the entire evening.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! My husband and I found Downtown Catering Co for our wedding because of a referral. After contacting multiple catering companies in the area, we realized Downtown Catering was significantly cheaper than the other companies. Not only are they competitively priced, their service and food are absolutely incredible! It was hard to narrow down our food options because everything we tried was so delicious. Therese, Mike, and the event services coordinator, Katie, were so pleasant to work with. The communication was top notch, and Katie made the rental process a breeze. Their servers during our event were incredibly professional and we had multiple guests comment on how great the service was. I cannot say enough good things about this company and our experience!

Our coordinator Olivia MADE our wedding everything that it was. Olivia was so responsive, proactive, and did not overlook a single detail in the planning phase of our wedding. She made sure that each vendor knew their role and what to do on the day of the wedding. She was always so kind and patient with me when I had questions. On the day of the rehearsal and the wedding she showed up early and with a smile. She worked so hard the entire day and made sure I was relaxed and had everything I needed. Our wedding wouldn’t have been all that it was without her help.

Downtown Catering Co just hosted our wedding and we could not be happier!! Therese and her team did an amazing job. The food was excellent, the servers were professional, and we received so many compliments. We didn’t have to worry about a thing since they were so organized!! Therese is an absolute joy to work with and one of the nicest people we’ve ever met! The serving staff and bartender took great care of us and our guest as well! From beginning to end, the process of working with this caterer was a breeze and we highly recommend this company for your catering needs!

We had the absolute best experience with booking Downtown Catering for our wedding. Prior to booking, we had a tasting at their location and were so impressed by everyone's kindness, the care they put into our experience, and of course the food. We had done a couple other tastings in the DC area and Downtown Catering was a whole other experience compared to those. After booking, Nicole, Therese, and Mike were both quick with communication and helpful with all of the planning.

Our wedding day was more than amazing! All of the food tasted incredible and Mike constantly kept checking on me and groom during pictures and throughout the evening to see if there was anything he could bring us. His positive energy was so great to be around and I cannot recommend Downtown Catering enough!!

Mike and the Downtown Catering staff were beyond everything we could have asked for in a caterer for our wedding. The attention to detail and the hospitality that was shown was impeccable. My wife and I hired Downtown Catering our winter wedding. Mike and Therese did an amazing job with the menu, and the food was delicious. They constantly communicated with us and always responded to any questions we had in a timely manner. The service at the reception was amazing. They made sure to save some hors d'oeuvres from the cocktail hour for us and got us drinks from the bar throughout the evening. On top of all this, our guests have been raving about the food and service since that night. We would recommend this caterer to anyone.

Mike and Therese and the entire catering team were a dream vendor to work with. During the planning process both Mike and Therese were always very responsive, happy to answer any questions I had, gave advice when I needed it, and were so accommodating. On the wedding day they went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect including helping our coordinator with set up. Mike was so attentive to Taylor and I and made sure we ate and enjoyed during cocktail hour, enjoyed our dinner and always made sure we had a fresh drink in our hand. Therese killed it in the kitchen! Every single one of our guests raved about the food and quite a few said it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. We couldn’t recommend Downtown Catering enough and are so appreciative of everything Mike and Therese did to make our wedding a dream!

WOWOWOWOW!!! Therese, Mike, and Katie are a dream team. The food was amazing for our wedding as well as the drinks being poured and service! We couldn't have asked for a better catering crew and team to be at our wedding. The attention to detail and questions asked were very much appreciated and everything was to perfection. We have had family mention how lovely Mike was and attentive to their needs, noticing if they needed another drink, etc. Our day was perfect, and they were a big part of that.

We used Downtown Catering for our wedding reception with no regrets! Mike and Therese were great to work with and always quick to respond to any emails/calls. My husband and I very much enjoyed doing the tasting and are looking for an excuse to be able to use them again for an event. They did an excellent job at our wedding and the food was delicious. My daughter hired Downtown Catering for her wedding this August, and from our first contact with Therese and Mike, it was a great experience. Our tasting meeting with them was so delicious and professional, we knew right away that they were the right caterer for us. Every step of the contract was handled easily, and they were very accommodating about our special requests. The day of the wedding everything went smoothly, the food was hot and fabulous and the presentation was beautiful. The staff they brought with them were polite, energetic and hard workers. Downtown Catering Co. catered my wedding on July 17, 2021 and the food was absolute perfection! I had family friends what hired Downtown Catering Co. to cater their weddings so reached out to them as soon as I got engaged. They are so responsive and easily set up a tasting to decide on the menu. Our tasting was so impressive. We were served wine with the tasting and tried close to 15 different hors d'eourves, 10 entrees, and many desserts. It was so hard to decide on the menu because everything tasted so good. On to the wedding day, Mike keep constant communication with us to provide a wonderful experience. My guests raved on how delicious the food was (the mac and cheese is the bomb!). They even packed up a meal for my now husband and I to take home with us since we did not have much time to eat during the wedding. I would 110% choose Downtown for any future catering event and will be telling all my friends and family to choose Downtown Catering Co.!

Downtown Catering Company exceeded all we hoped for in catering our daughter's wedding. We chose a Mediterranean themed menu and were totally blown away by the variety, freshness, exotic flavors and presentation of the hors d'oeuvres and buffet dinner. In addition, the wedding cake was not only beautifully done, but absolutely delicious.

Therese and her staff were fabulous on our wedding day! Food was our #1 priority and our guests have been raving about their meals since our wedding at The Barn at Willow Brook on 5/8/21. I was nervous that it being prepared ahead of time may result in a different product than what we received at our tasting, but it was truly just as good as being in their kitchen in Front Royal! We are so grateful to have had such a delicious dinner and desserts for our guests! Our wedding cake came out exactly how we wanted and was so beautiful on display. Thank you Downtown Catering!!!

We hired Downtown Catering for our wedding and brunch the next day in Luray, Virginia. To begin with, their food is incredible. It is delicious, creative, and leverages seasonal and unique ingredients. On the night of our wedding and ever-since, our guests have been saying just how much they enjoyed the food. This is particularly wonderful given that Downtown Catering helped us develop an all vegetarian wedding, which satisfied our very carnivorous extended family. Caterers that provide a steak meal or barbecue are a dime a dozen in this area, but if you want something that will truly blow your guests away - look to Downtown Catering! Beyond the unbelievable quality of the food, Downtown Catering also provides wonderful service. During both the wedding and the brunch, plates and cups were always refilled by polite and attentive staff. Lastly, and most importantly, Mike and Therese are the most wonderful people to work with. The are kind and welcoming, and people you just want to hang out with and have at your event. They are easy to work with, and I think more importantly, they just want to see you enjoy your big event. We 100% recommend working with Downtown Catering and Mike and Therese!

Therese and Mike are the absolute best! I am a wedding planner, and have the privilege working with Downtown Catering often. We would recommend downtown catering to anyone for any event! Mike was always responsive and available for any questions we had. His food was not only amazing but our guests at our wedding continued to talk about the food days after the wedding. His service throughout the entire wedding was incredible and he went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Mike was present for every meeting and taste testing and I never had any doubt that we went with the right choice. Our wedding had a speech that required servers to bring out shots for everyone, and all of this occurred during dinner as well. However, The servers managed to have everything ready to go with perfect timing.
