Samuels Public Library

A lovely place here in Virginia, in operation since the 1800s and continuing to serve ALL of the community. Unfortunately, a small group of book banners attempting to censor reading materials according to their own, narrow views is putting the very existence of this institution at risk. Please support this critical community resource and stand against censorship and book bans. It's 2023, ffs!

I could spend all day here. They have incredible programs for kids and adults, comfortable reading areas, the most friendly librarians you could ask for, private study areas, a beautiful children’s garden, board game loans, and more.

So grateful to be a patron of this library. They have incredible resources for the community, offer fun events for the family, and the staff are the nicest people I’ve ever met.

Modern facililty and equipment, very frindly and helpful staff, wonderful and diverse selection of literature. Plenty space for work. Print and make copies. Computer center and conference room.

This library is a priceless asset to the Warren County area. This library provides more community programs and resources than any library I have ever visited. The staff are wonderful - pleasant, knowledgeable, and professional.

Wonderful experience at the library today. Received very helpful support and recommendations from the three individuals working the adult reference desk. Always a positive experience!

First off it has books, so they got that going for them. The staff is friendly and nice. The building is clean and well maintained. They always have some kind of learning activities going on. There is an outdoor area that has all kinds of neat stuff including a huge chessboard which is usually set up wrong (right square on the bottom right, and queen on her own color) but we can't have it all. If you know how to play show others teamwork makes the dream work. They have internet and printers. A person literally has no excuses to not know something with the access to knowledge granted here. Go check it out.

Well organized and a pleasant environment. Everything is comfortable and peaceful.good book supply and a very kind and helpful staff. Also great community events. Nice kids garden. See for yourself.

The library staff are always friendly, prompt, and helpful. I've had staff take a great deal of effort to help me find books for myself or for my children. The ambiance is quite nice. Perhaps the only thing I would change would be to increase the selection of books. However, online library resources are an excellent complement to what they currently have.

I’ve been a patron of multiple NOVA libraries. The main Arlington branch used to be my favorite.
Although Front Royal is a small town and has a lot less funds to work with, when compared to those NOVA libraries, Samuels can stand right beside any one of them.
We should be very grateful to have such a high quality library in FR and WC.

Kind, helpful librarians. Very clean and well organized. Shelves are spaced well for spending time researching the books you might need. Great study areas and computer stations. Chairs towards the back are amazing for relaxing and reading a bit.

Always so friendly and helpful. They were extremely happy to see my girls there. Curbside pickup is still available, but we wanted to go inside, for a change. (Masks are required for adults & children over a certain age.)

I was visiting your town and had to stop at the local library and I Iike to thank Erin and Sandra for being very helpful friendly and professional to me we need more people like you ladies.

Great library! Free notary public on duty. Lots of friendly staff and computers. A sunny study area.

Forr the kids there lots of library programs and the coolest kid section you will ever see. It looks like you're in a fairy tale, but with book shelves. There is also a huge play area and fun toys.

The garden is worth a stroll. Plenty of fairy garden type decorations and pretty horticulture. There is even a large chess set which could be fun.

Great library stocked with a huge selection! The staff is community oriented and is developing a lot of great classes, reward systems, and holiday themed events to engage readers.

Great public library. Very responsive to the community. Lots of programs. Meeting and study rooms, computers and copying machines. Good selection of books, many ages and genere including manga.
It also has online book borrowing so you don't have to leave home.

My daughter and I signed up for the mother/daughter reading club. Today we discussed our first book "The Music of the Dolphins". Initially my daughter Catie and I were not impressed with the book but after the discussion with kids and moms we changed our minds a bit. We are so excited about this group and cannot wait until the next group discussion this fall. We had so hoped it would be each month during this summer but we will anxiously await this fall.

This is the best public library we have around this area, and I've been to many. The staff is very friendly and keeps the library very clean. Every Covid precaution is being taken to keep us readers safe. I'd recommend this place to anyone.

Samuels Library is the best in Virginia. It is also one of the two oldest libraries in the Commonwealth and has aged beautifully! The new building offers meeting spaces that range from small enough for a two person meeting to large enough to seat over 100 people for a community event. The collection is large, diverse and reponsive to what residents need and want and the staff is highly professional and very friendly. Mr.Chan's earlier remarks are regretable and misleading. He mayhave been having a really rough day but his comments do not reflect the thousands of positive praises you will hear from regular patrons at Samuels Library if you ask. So stop in and visit or come by for one of the excellent programs offered by the Friends of Samuels Library. Happy reading!

I love this library. All the librarians are extremely helpful and welcoming. My almost 3 year old absolutely loves going to the library. Great sitting areas, tons of books, and movies.
