Front Royal Karate & Judo Club

When I was younger, I was pretty out of line, rambunctious, and what many would call a problem child. My Sensei and this dojo gave me an outlet, a goal, and a sense of purpose.

Not only that, but my Sensei taught me discipline and how to properly deal with my emotions, while giving me a safe environment to do so.

I never got to finish all the way (as I moved away from the area in my early teenage years) but it made me who I am today.

If you're looking for a martial arts studio and/or a place to learn self defense, you can stop looking.

This is a wonderful karate school with great instruction for adults and kids. Excellent practice that builds confidence and focus, especially for kids. The school will have been in the same location for 50 years next year so they must be doing something right! Highly recommended.

I’ve been a student here since 2007. This place is a wonderful atmosphere that teaches respect, cooperation, and self confidence. It’s a great way to stay in shape; however, it is a welcoming community that has something for everyone of any body type, age, or ability. I cannot recommend this place enough!

I can't say enough good things about this school and Drago, the Sensei that has been teaching my Grandson for the past couple years now! The manner in which he teaches discipline, respect and lessons, above and beyond Karate, is to be applauded. We certainly appreciate his time and expertise more than he will ever know! The other teachers are wonderful human beings also! We are so very fortunate to have such a quality martial arts school in our city!

Great place and wonderful community! My family and I went here for half a decade and loved every moment. Sensei Drago and Miss Carol are a lot of fun to be around and are great instructors! 10/10, I would definitely recommend them to a friend.

We love this place and have been taking classes for years. Sensei Drago is an excellent teacher and very wise. The dojo has been here since 1973.

Best place ever!

I showed up with my wife and 7 week old daughter to my first class and was immediately told my family couldn’t stay to watch because they would be “distractions.” I’ve been doing martial arts all across the US for going on 22 years and have trained with many many old school instructors but, I’ve never met a more disrespectful bunch of people. Whatever charm this school had in years prior is long gone and if you can’t be polite then you are in the wrong line of work. While I cannot attest to the quality of instruction I can absolutely say that the students were out of shape, rude, and only one helped my wife and I by holding the door for the heavy baby stroller while the rest just sat around staring at us. If you want a good atmosphere and people to train with don’t waste your time with this school.
