NEST Kitchen & Taphouse

I've read majority of the Bad reviews. I'm glad I didn't read them before going to this restaurant. I give it 5 stars all around! The most extensive vegan offerings I've seen in Virginia, outside of a completely vegan Restaurant. Compared to other grills and tap houses, it's a touch pricy, but absolutely worth it. The Kind of place You bring someone that you want to impress while still being comfortable and laid Back. The staff was very attentive, granted it wasn't that busy. The food was delicious and flavorful. Even the physical Menüs are different than apparently a couple of months ago. I hope you give it a try!

My husband and I ate brunch here for the first time last weekend and enjoyed it so much! I had heard so many great things about this restaurant from friends and finally had the chance to try it out. The service was great! The food and portion sizes were fantastic! The price point was even better! We definitely plan on coming back more often!!

The shrimp and grits was amazing. I usually order this when I get brunch and this is my favorite place to get it by far. The service was amazing and our server Ajada was super sweet and attentive. The almond espresso latte was also delicious. Along with the lavender lemonade. Can’t recommend it enough! 10/10

Awesome food and great service! Not too busy when we went and the atmosphere was nice. The brunch menu was fantastic!
The kids menu was great for my younger child, but not enough food for my older two. When ended up ordering them extra sides. They just ordered the kids pancakes but a good tip is that the adult pancakes are the same cost but much bigger with no drink included. So we go with the adult portion next time.

First time trying NEST. A friend and me came here for a 10:30 brunch on Sat. They weren't packed. Super nice atmosphere attached to the Kiln Creek Golf Clubhouse. We sat on the outdoor covered patio. Service was good. Menu had some really unique items. I got the special Apple Cinnamon Donuts which were yum and the Duck Bacon Breakfast Sandwich with sweet potato waffle fries that was also delish. Totally would recommend this place.

Mt first time here and I have to say it was delicious. The omelet was great.

This place was outstanding. The front staff were welcoming. The waitress was extremely friendly and attentive. The manager checked on us periodically. And the food was killer. This is the trifecta. And the golf course gave ambience. Please put this on your to-do list when visiting.

Very lovely restaurant, fantastic food, professional service and the outside seating was right next to the golf course, which was my favorite part. Right from the door, the staff was very professional. I was totally blown away by the food! Every bite was delicious! Thank you for a great experience, we will be back.

I go here because it close to where I live. It's a great place, good people there. Brooke is an amazing bartender, she makes an excellent old fashion. So if you like old fashion, stop by and get one. Also try the coffee stout, I don't know how to spell the actual name. Lol. Peace.

The place didn't have a sign out front so we entered the restaurant from the lodge side by accident. The architecture was nice too, it was designed by an architect from my husband's employer Clancy & They and was rustic modern with cozy tables and booths in the front and a bar area with TVs to watch sports in the back. They even had outdoor seating with heaters to keep you warm on a chilly night. The wait staff were friendly and helpful and we were seated within 10 minutes of arriving for dinner on Valentine's Day. We ordered the Knob Creek Bourbon (I ordered it on the rocks) but they were out of it and we had Jim Beam Bourbon instead because they were also out of the Seagrams which is the house special. They had a long list of bourbon and Whiskey options to choose from. We had the mussels as a starter, and they were so delicious we decided to order one seafood dish as a main. For dinner, I ordered the Korean Fried Chicken and it came with sweet cornbread as well as peas and carrots. My husband had the Shrimp Basil Primavera and it was also very good. There was more than enough food so we took home leftovers. I didn't realize I forgot to take a photo of the main until after we were done eating because the food was so good. They had a special Valentine's Day menu with Beef Wellington which would have been our second option and special Valentine's Day desserts. We're definitely coming back for brunch and another date night dinner. My husband was initially reluctant to come because he heard that the food would be expensive and the wait to be seated long without a reservation, but there are multiple options for different price points and the busiest time is brunch.

Location! Location! Location! That's what they say and its true. Its on a golf course, which freaked me out at first because I didn't realize that was where the GPS was leading me. It feels very peaceful there. Now you probably want to know about the food. AMAZING! Everything I had was awesome. The salmon omelet sent me.. my daughter had the southwest burger and loved it. We also ordered donuts and cheesecake to go. I'd definitely go again.

The food is truly art. The attention to detail is off the hook. Amazing. The prices are very reasonable, you are getting a much much higher quality of food than the prices on the menu reflect. The blue corn tortillas chips and hummus are the best ever. I can not recommend high enough. Everything we had was amazing. The Nest is a treasure.

Love the atmosphere, the food was delicious and they have plenty of options to choose from. Service was great and no wait. Definitely will try them for dinner too.

Made a reservation for a Sunday and Friday morning and the staff had our table prepared upon arrival. My friends and I shared a mimosa bucket and split the cost, which was way cheaper than ordering individual drinks. The waitresses were so kind and accommodating to my one year old who was with us. The food portions were large! Highly recommend the French toast.

Edit: I returned a year later for Dinner and Drinks. The drinks were just OK. But our server Maeri was amazing. She had such great customer service! She was helpful regarding menu items and gave good recommendations.

This place is pretty busy on the weekends, so reservations are a must. Portions are plentiful, and mimosas are good. They forgot about one of our party's food and had to get the waitress to check on it, so that wasn't good.

Mary and Dee took care of us while visiting. Great food! We had a large party of 14 and everything was delicious!

Had a great experience at Nest for brunch. Raina was an amazing server and food and atmosphere was great. Biscuits and gravy was delicious and I've got enough leftovers for another meal. I'll be back!

Food is so delicious here and the outdoor seating is comfortable. I got the pancakes and donuts and it was all so good. Also got the Andes Hot Chocolate and it was honestly the best hot chocolate I've had. Can't wait to come back here.

This restaurant has been such a nice addition to Kiln Creek and Newport News. A great alternative to other wonderful restaurants like Second Street Bistro and Circa 1918. Quality, delicious and well crafted food, matched by great tap beer selection and tremendous cocktails. Wonderful choice for lunch, happy hour, date night or because it’s a day ending in “y”.

Made a reservation on Open Table for Sunday brunch with my mom and aunties. The food took awhile to come out considering they weren't really busy but we passed time enjoying the delicious mimosas. We all enjoyed our meal. Great service and pretty scenery overlooking the golf course.
