This is an easy trail that is extremely well marked and “impossible” to get lost on. Mud was very minimal even though it rained the day before. This is a very family, friendly and dog friendly trail. It’s quite wide with plenty of room to pass other users. It’s just a short drive from town and is a great place to stretch your legs and take the dog for a nice walk. Highly recommend.

Super easy hike that the majority can do. Absolute stunning views. A great hike to begin or end a stay in The Black Hills. 1.7 miles roundtrip.

This is an awesome place! The hike up to this place is an easy hike. We brought our dogs with us (on leash) and they loved the hike. The view up at the top of the rim is breathtaking. There is such a great view. I highly recommend this place to others. The next time I'm visiting the Black Hills I will come back and do this hike again. Thanks.

What a rewarding hike! The trail is about 20-30 minutes total, and the trailhead is right off the highway. The view is incredible. You will probably spend more time admiring the view than you will actually walking on the trail. Speaking of the trail, it is very wide and smooth, so this is a great hike for families and people of all ages.

This is a really nice hike. Trailhead right off Hwy 16. Path is out and back. Less than two miles round trip. Easy hike, for kids and dogs. Nice view at the end. Recommend if you don't have a lot of time. Well travelled.

A very easy casual hike with great scenery. Wonderful view at the top. The trail can easily be traversed with a stroller with off road wheels if you have little ones. Usually plenty of dogs on leashes.

Gotta say I loved this hike more than I thought so would. Its about a mile to the end with a gravel path that leads you the whole way. As far as hikes go, that's basically as easy as it gets. A quick easy hike that ends with a gorgeous view and some neato nerdy facts and about hot air balloons. Only downside was the amount of trash that had been thrown by the trail, but that's lame humans' faults. I packed out 1 McDonald's cup, 1 Dasani water bottle, and one bottle of Amsterdam watermelon vodka. Trails are great, nature is great, so don't ruin it with trash 😢
