Millstone Family Restaurant

I went for dinner and it was great. It has such an old school feel, but everyone there knew each other and it was so nice to overhear conversations between waitstaff and customers about their lives. The food was really good and the service was fantastic! Special shout out to Cristin who could anticipate whenever I wanted a drink refill, or a larger salad plate, and was great about checking in.

This is one of those now hard to find Family Restaurants that live up to the name. Great menu selection, tasty food, friendly service and there are obviously regulars who come back frequently. They have a decent soup and salad bar. Breakfast, lunch and dinner menus to choose from. There are also desserts but my wife and I don't usually order desserts.

Nice atmosphere. A little more expensive than IHOP, Denny's or similar establishment however the food was great. I had the smoked sausage Skillet which was loaded with sausage, eggs, Hashbrowns and diced peppers and onion. Served with your choice of breads or pancakes. I had chosen the Rye, which were thick slices. Unlike other establishments that say you get "two slices of bread" which is one sliced cut in two you actually get two slices of bread that are cut in two.

There was no shortage of sausage!!!

I had to find a family restaurant when I flew in from Wisconsin, ended up here & I was not disappointed! The waitress was so very sweet. I chatted with some of the customers who made me feel at home. My dish hit the spot.

We love the Millstone both locations are excellent. We usually get breakfast when we go here but they do have really good dinners and lunches as well. They have a really good salad bar that has plenty of options for everyone. For breakfast we usually get the Black Hills skillet and we substitute the toast for a side of pancakes which is awesome. They have really good Belgian waffles and they also have really good biscuits and gravy. My dad used to love going here he would always get the hot hamburger meal with mashed potatoes. They also have a location in Spearfish South Dakota and possibly some others I'm not quite sure.

I loved it here! The atmosphere was fun, the waitress was funny and gave everyone a hard time, the food was FANTASTIC and I loved every minute of it being here. It’s nice going somewhere where the people enjoy their jobs and like to enter act with their customers.

Best waitress I have come across in years! Vanessa was super attentive and personal and made sure the food was served to our liking before walking away. The food itself was good as well, excellent salad bar and soup too!

We were driving through Rapid City and needed a place to grab lunch. Millstone immediately caught my eye, and I'm glad it did. Our food was very good, and I loved that they had a soup and salad bar. The broccoli cheese soup was especially good. We'll be back next time we're in the area.

This was a great find on Google Maps. A great little restaurant and a favorite of the locals and understandably so. The staff here were all great and professional and the restaurant opens very early and is clean. The food was excellent. You must try the pancakes even just as a side they are great. This place is easy to get in and out of and close to the interstate.

Millstone is a Family Oriented Restaurant and gives off a at Home vibe,It has a GooD Menu with A Variety of Items,I ordered the Turkey Bacon Club and it was amazing.This will be one of the Restaurants I frequent.

We came to meet a friend for coffee and pie. The food we saw and the aroma of the delicious f9od will have us coming back to eat here.

They have a very warm and comfortable atmosphere. Family friendly, lots of seating options with tables, booths or sit up at the counter.

As a South African I've not found a decent restaurant to eat at and this place was nice. We really enjoyed the food and they have a salad bar that's included in the meal. The various dishes available was also a plus. We really enjoyed it

First time eating here and it's reputation is spot on. I've heard what a great place it is and I was not disappointed. Everything from the staff to the food was amazing!

Didn't know what to expect and was pleasantly surprised by their extensive menu and the abundance of comfort food. I had the fish and chips and the salad bar. Food was piping hot and fresh and our server Samantha was attentive . The restaurant was clean and bathrooms sanitary. Definitely the place I'll be returning to when passing through the area. Very friendly staff made the experience even better!

I have had nothing but great experiences at both locations! Food, service and atmosphere is always great. If there is a line, don't worry they are fast. It's worth the wait!!

Food and service was both really great!! We were made to feel welcome and our meal tasted like good home cooking. The pumpkin cake is delicious. Also very reasonably priced

We stopped here for breakfast on way to black hills. Whole atmosphere is up beat and waitresses are super nice. There is rush but yet service was prompt. Pancakes were soft and delicious. Did not know what skillate is but yet ordered it and loved it.

The initial visit was precipitated by not researching your base beforehand, and flinging a dart at Google results. What a great surprise to find The Millstone. We both got the chicken fried beef dinner with carrots, mashed potatoes and country gravy. The menu described the gravy perfectly, "lucious". This came with a very diversified and clean salad bar. We were unable to finish off our generous portions and probably could have just split one order. We came back for breakfast the following three mornings and found breakfast to be equally as good. The wait is slightly long, but we were unaffected by the constraints of time and savored the coffee which flowed freely, accompanied by the smiles of the wait staff who were busy, but professional and friendly. Great for kids, groups and seniors.

Came for Taco Tuesday to try the Indian Tacos and we were not disappointed. The beef taco was well-spiced, reasonably-priced and the bread was fresh with the right amount of thickness. The hot fudge cake was superb: it was moist and not too sweet. The strawberry cream cake was on point as well. Staff are very friendly and the restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere. Locals obviously frequent the place, so that tells you something. A must try when you are in Rapid City!
