Dental Specialists of North Florida

I shattered a tooth and was referred here by my primary dentist. After my consultation, I was put on the schedule for an extraction/implant with a bone graft.

I was in and out of the chair in less than 40 minutes on the day of the appointment. They were timely, had great bedside manner, and I didn’t feel a thing after the local anesthetic was given.

Due to financial reasons, I decided not to go under or even take any conscious sedative. As such, I was very nervous. Dr. Thousand and, especially, his colleague Marcia went to great lengths to answer all my questions, calm my nerves, and give me very detailed and careful post-op instructions. I had so little pain the days to follow that I didn’t even have to take the prescribed ibuprofen.

I’ll be headed back for a post op follow up in 2 weeks to check my progress.

Dr. Thousand is a phenomenal dental specialist! Dr. Thousand and staff are very friendly and inviting and extremely down to earth. The process was very simple, well planned out and I really appreciated the breakdown of details for my treatment plan. Extremely clean and professional atmosphere. If I could choose to give more than 5 stars I would. Dr.Thousand is the man! 💯 💯 💯

Dr. John Thousand is always amazing. I cannot thank him enough for his continued care for my complicated procedures. He was so thoughtful and saw me as many times as necessary to get the job done well! My whole family only trusts him.

I had to edit my review a bit since I noticed something amazing (and also something a bit sad when I came back to edit!) I am hoping this is just because of the timing but, I was there for the free tooth extraction event they held right before Thanksgiving (genius, btw.) And it seems I am the only one from the event so far that has left a review.

It went as I had hoped, there weren't very many people there, at least, not when it first got started, maybe 15-20 or so, probably just the people who ABSOLUTELY needed it - I mean who else is going to show up to get their tooth pulled the day before Thanksgiving?

Anyway: the Dr. (John), the staff, everyone was very nice. Even though the event was free, we weren't made to feel like they were rushing us or didn't want to be doing it, etc.etc., they actually seemed to care, made me comfortable all throughout my procedure, explained everything very well to me.

Even though I thought I was there for a completely different reason (two ghost teeth that were in pain that I guess were fine) John was able to FINALLY remove this impacted wisdom tooth that's been a pain in my mouth...and apparently more than that for what seems like forever - since I didn't have the funds to correct it I just sort of said, "okay well this pain is a part of me now."

What I DIDN'T know at the time was that tooth was very well what may have been causing my near DAILY migraines. Because ever since that tooth has come out I *knocks on wood* have not had a single one...hell, not even a headache. So THANK YOU, Dr. and THANK YOU everyone at Dental Specialists of North Florida! You not only got rid of this tooth for me but you very well may have CURED my migraines! If I'm ever in a position where I can get my gums fixed I'll know who to call. I sincerely hope you continue to hold that event because it truly makes an enormous impact on the lives of those who are able to make it in.

I have complex dental problems and Dr. McKinley was awesome in patiently explaining the procedure and skillfully doing it. She even called me later to check on how I was doing.
Her dental assistant Bethany was knowledgeable and answered some of my basic questions about the 3D scan while deferring to the doctor on others.
The front office too was great scheduling me and I didn’t have to wait at all.

The team at Dental Specialists is amazing. From my first consult through my surgery I felt that they truly cared. All procedures were thoroughly explained to me before and during the process. Dr. McKinley even called me the evening after my procedure to check that I was doing okay. It really shows how much they care.

I am delighted with the service I received from the staff and the extractions done by Dr. Romani at Dental Specialists of North Florida.
I’ve had a LOT of dental work over my 70+ years. The latest effort involved removing three teeth (13, 14, and 15). Dr. Romani did a wonderful job. I was anxious about doing it with only novocaine, but the staff were reassuring and it went well. After, I was shown a picture of the stitches. They were beautiful, so neat and tidy. There was no bleeding afterwards, very little swelling, and no bruising. Possible after effects were clearly explained and I received excellent documentation that guided my swift recovery.
I gladly give this practice five stars.

Can't say enough about Dr. McKinley and her staff. This was the best dental experience ever. Totally pain free and everything was explained from start to finish for my tooth extraction. Everyone was so friendly and made you feel at home. Will definitely recommend this office to friends and family.

Dr. Thousand and his staff are amazing. They made things comfortable and easy for me through 2 periodontal surgeries and have been very informative on how to take care of my teeth going forward. They made a horrible situation better and saved my teeth as well. Thank you!!!

Outstanding experience in all ways at this specialty dental practice! Dr. Michael Romani & his colleagues are experts in their discipline & the results prove it! I highly recommend this practice if you find yourself in need of implant dentistry! The office staff is exceptional, as well!

What an amazing experience! Dr. Thousand removed 2 of my wisdom teeth and made it a great experience from beginning to end. All the staff are so kind and gentle. Everything was explained before they started and make you feel so comfortable. Dr. Thousand even gave me a personal phone call that night to check on me! True patient care! I would recommend them to anyone who will listen! I’ll never go anywhere else!!

Dr. Romani is awesome! He's very kind and professional. I was a bit nervous about my procedure but he made me feel at ease. I didn't have any pain during my recovery and my results were incredible.
The rest of the staff was great as well. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. They made this experience so easy!  It's obvious that they care about their patients and want you to have the best experience possible.

I was terrified about getting an implant but the experience from beginning to end was amazing and totally painless. I was pain free from the procedures, even when I got home and the surgical anesthesia wore off. Dr. Romani is absolutely the best. The entire staff is so compassionate and professional. After hearing horror stories from friends who had gone to different dental offices, I was extremely grateful that I chose Dental Specialists!
