Middle Georgia House Sellers

Had a God-awful experience with this business. Was being led to believe that I was approved for a rental, even told to pay the deposit (I only paid half and had mentioned I would pay the remainder later in the week) to "secure" the tenancy. The current property I rent is slated to be sold and there are issues with it that have gotten worse since I moved in in 2021. Christopher Pruiser, Mid Ga House Sellers property manager had gotten the money into an account then turned around after strangely wanting to come by the house I'm currently renting and claimed that the last step was signing the lease via Zoom but that didn't happen as the day after the deposit they wanted to deny my application. This honestly sounded like the hallmark of a scam. They wanted to receive the funds immediately as a deposit at Robins Federal credit union, but after denying me they wanted to send a check which honestly there wouldn't be a guarantee of reaching me, that is if it was even mailed. I wanted the money brought to me as I refused the alternative of giving access to my checking account for an ACH payment (if I'm denied there is no reason to give more sensitive information). The property manager stated it was a process. I asked for the money to be brought to my work office and he didn't respond. It was only after I had contacted Mid Ga and mentioned a police report was being filed, that the money was brought that day. As I spoke to Macon-Bibb Sheriff's department and explained everything they mentioned it was unusual for a property manager to come to a tenant's current house that they do not own or manage to "meet the family and pets". I'm not saying that is impossible but it was a first time for me, and I believe in the excitement of being told that I can get approved as his (the property manager) word was good with the owners I didn't read the signs that were there. I would suggest doing more research as their current address is a Target superstore in Warner Robins, which is either because they use virtual addresses (such as iPostal1 or IncFile) and they do not have a physical location in Georgia or they are a scam.
