Calvert Crabs & Seafood

The okra was the best I've ever had, and the rockfish bites were delightfully soft, perfectly lightly fried, with a nice sauce on the side. Also enjoyed the combo platter and crab cake.

Got a half bushel yesterday from Calvert Crabs. Best crabs I’ve had in a long time. Even had some jumbos mixed in. Best price around and crabs were heavy. $130 for a half bushel, not steamed.

This was my first time here, and the food is pretty fire 🔥 🚒 😎! I ordered the 1) crabby 🦀 fries w/pico de gallo, 2) jumbo lump crab cake sandwich w/Chesapeake chips 🥔, 3) calamari 🦑, and 4) Chesapeake Mac Salad 🥗.

There was a couple of folks that walked in for orders. So this place can be pretty popular/active. Who doesn't love seafood? This place seems like a staple. The food packaging consists of plastic bags, paper boxes/cartons, - but non-recyclable soup cups 🙃🍲.

I'd go again! Amazing food, tasty, and filling. This place is a true A1 Maryland gem 🦀💎.

I want to say I was very pleased with the food I got which was female crabs, soft shells , fried oysters, grilled cheese an they were all good!!! Shanon treated me like she knew me all my life treated me with respect an dignity! She answered all my questions an explained the options an choices of the crabs an packed them for my 3 1/2 hour drive home. If your looking for seafood I would stop there an try it out!!! The lunch specials are delicious and quite reasonably priced for seafood- there have been $10 deals throughout November and December, for example. Taco Tuesday ($2.50 per taco) is also a great idea. Service is quick and friendly. My only criticism is that there might be more seafood included in each dish. 9/10 would absolutely recommend.

Take out was great. Order was correct and seafood cooked to perfection. Best fried soft crab I have had in many years.

My wife and I had an amazing meal here tonight. We enjoyed the Rockfish bites, catfish fish fry special, and grilled shrimp tacos. It was honestly probably THE best seafood I’ve ever had. Everything was seasoned and cooked well…the food was incredibly fresh…the staff were friendly, helpful, and personable. We had a great experience and will definitely come back regularly!

OMG! I Google the goldmine because I was in the area. I never had seasoning on crabs that taste so GOOD. The fried cat fish was delicious, well cooked to perfection, meaty and juice. The customer service which is VERY IMPORTANT to me was 10 stars. I love this place! Good food and service is hard to find. They have EVERYTHING you need.

Amy was my server and she was wonderful. So kind and helpful! The food was so good and fairly priced given the increase in crab pricing of late! Highly recommend and be sure to ask for Amy!!! Crab dip was so yummy!!!

Shannon at the front of the house took excellent care of us. Being from Michigan, we were unfamiliar with the method of eating Maryland crab. She took the time to give us a demonstration. She was kind, patient, and friendly toward us. She didn’t even scold us for bringing some of Calvert beach into the restaurant with us on our shoes...

We enjoyed the Maryland crabs & had a good visit. Here employees nice. Corn on the cob delicious. I ate 2!

I got the crab cake platter and it was probably the BEST crab cake I've ever had. The hush puppies here are also very good. Staff is amazing and very patient. If you’re looking for a good seafood place, this is it.

I tried Calvert Crabs and Seafood for the first time this evening. I got take out and it was so delicious! I got the stuffed shrimp imperial, bay fries and mac'n'cheese. Everything was delicious - and that was after a 25 minute ride home. I'll definitely go back again soon!

Staff is very friendly. The food is delicious!! We have had the Seafood club on 2 visits - that says it all. On another visit, there was misunderstanding when I ordered and the server saw I was disappointed. Before we left, she came to our table with a take out order of what I thought I had ordered - so kind. On our 3rd visit, there was a triple berry cobbler on the menu that sounded yummy. We ordered it and is heavenly- a wonderful blend of flavors!!

Did a pre order for mother's day and order was ready on time. The steamed shrimp was very good. Maryland crab soup was fantastic. All the ladies working were feiendly

me and my farther stopped here last minute after another place we knew sold out. their hospitality and kindness is top notch. they had one more dozen of jumbos left and they were giant. also bought a half bushel of their no.1 and they were great, as well as there chesapeake salad, hush puppies, and i believe they were sweet chili green beans. all the items were great and seasoned well. they answered any question my farther asked very kind. i will definitely be returning.

Love this place! Found in the shops behind Bank of America, where Main meets Hwy 2/4. Had sauteed rockfish and collard greens. Very flavorful and healthy. Collard greens have bacon, which I liked. Also had pineapple upside down cake... delicious and moist! Also, their house made Lattice Chips have Old Bay and a perfect texture. Staff there are so nice!

This place is a sleeper. As in, you would never know it just looking at it that the food is awesome. Both crab soups are delicious, the rockfish bites were crispy on the outside and great with the bayou sauce. The broiled crabcakes were scrumptious and mostly crab. And I love that they give you a packet of honey to dip the hush puppies in. Amy is a doll!!! I honestly thought she was the manager, she is so on top of everything. And the cook singing in the kitchen just made the atmosphere really nice. I'm really sad we didn't have time to come back and grab a second meal here before it was time to head back to Baltimore. We will definitely be back!

I have bought steamed crabs for a few years and been very happy. Tonight I tried other items, cup of cream of crab and the 8 oz. crab cake al a cart. The soup was good. The amount of crab was good. I would use more lump for the topping. The 8 oz. crab cake was also good. I think they mixed some regular crab in but the price point reflected that as it is less expensive then others with noticeably more lump crab. All in all a very good value. I would recommend Calvert Crab & Seafood and will be back.

1st time customer & the food was totally amazing! I had the fish & chips with coleslaw & onion rings as my 2 sides & ordered a broiled Jumbo Lump Crabcake & 8 oz Cream of Crab soup. The fish was beer battered Cod that was very tasty! The onion rings were made with a thick cut of onion (nice!) & the coleslaw was great, too. The Cream of Crab soup was nice & thick & had very nice pieces of crab meat.The Crabcake was amazing, packed with crab meat & just a very small amount of filler needed to hold it together. Years ago, I had switched from having my crabcakes fried to broiled, it just seems to me to bring out the flavor better & this crabcake was perfect. They have some tables available for indoor dining & you can also order steamed crabs. This is the kind of place I wish I had discovered sooner & definitely will be making it our "go to for seafood" :) Very nice they also have beer & wine available & classic soft drinks like Grape Ne-Hi. Their menu also offers burgers & subs & desserts. The staff was also very nice & helpful.
