Hwy 55 Burgers Shakes & Fries

I love this restaurant. The 50s theme is really cool with the murals and old school link chairs. The staff was courteous, and our waitress did a great job. The JBB burger was great. I loved it all the fixings, chili, onion, and sauce. Highly recommend. My wife and her cosun got the cheese steak. They weren't impressed by it, although I thought it was tasty. They didn't like that it wasn't grilled. They wanted a little more charred taste. The kids meal come in a cool cardboard box unless they opt for a scoop of ice cream. Interesting options. My daughter had a strawberry shake that was just the right amount of thickness and flavor. We did eat right after a day at the beach, so I could have just been hungry, but I think the food was excellent.

Amanda was our waitress today and she is by far the sweetest, most attentive server I think we’ve ever had. She constantly came by asking if we needed anything then proceeded give once again, the best service we’ve received. Thanks Amanda!

Highway 55 consistently produces a quality meal. Prices are reasonable and staff is always very pleasant.

Great food and atmosphere. Definitely worth going and eating and enjoying the customer service. Willie is doing a great job and love going to see the smiling faces there. Need more people that are willing to make sure everything is right and customers leave with a smile on their face. Love this place!!

50's diner style atmosphere. The wait staff are great, our waitress welcomed us by opening the door and greeting us. I got the chicken Philly cheese, it was delicious!

Fantastic and hot, fresh food with a friendly and efficient staff. Would definitely make a detour to eat here again.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Highway 55 restaurant, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The highlight of my meal was undoubtedly the burger, which was hands down the best burger I have ever had. The patty was juicy and flavorful, and the toppings were fresh and perfectly balanced.

Food was really good but service was super slow and we had to raise our hands like kids to even get refills for our drinks.

We've been here 3 or 4 times recently, and the server remembers that my step dad doesn't like straws so she doesn't even ask anymore. She gives our table of four 3 straws! The servers are always friendly and joke with my family

Called in my order, it was made as requested. In my opinion its ome of the best places for chicken cheese steak sandwich.

I have never been less that completely satisfied with the quality and taste of their burgers, cheese steaks, fries, onion rings, or anything else I have gotten here over the years. Service has sometimes been questionable but not tonight at this store. Everyone greeted us and was extremely friendly and cordial. Thank you for the great food and service. Will be returning soon.

Highway 55 in Castle Hayne is a nice burger grill style restaurant with a 1950s theme. The staff is friendly and the service is quick.

They make good burgers and cheesesteaks but my favorite treat is the custard. One of the best places to get custard that I've found with plenty of toppings to choose from.

I do wish they'd bring the sanitation score up though.  Other than that I enjoy the food and atmosphere.  I would recommend Highway 55 as a novel treat.

My family visited here after a soccer game and our waitress Abby(?) was super nice and took great care of us. THEN we find out we left something behind AFTER we got home (2 hours away). They mailed it to us right away. Super nice people. Shout out to Mariah as well.

Employees here are always very friendly. I don't think I've ever had anything bad here. The burgers and cheesesteak are always delicious and the tater tots always taste like they were cooked in fresh oil. Great place to grab a bite to eat.

Over the past 6 years I have made togo orders, and eaten in the restaurant. The food is reliable and full of flavor. Good prices for the amount of food you receive. The service is normally fine for this type of restaurant. I just love the food and atmosphere.

Good food, I've never had a problem with anything I've ate here. Used to eat here as a kid and even then it was a good place. Good family environment too.

I don't know what it is about the Hwy. 55 in Castle Hayne but I love this place!!!

The service is always great...friendly, efficient, on point. The food is always as I expect it to be which is saying something these days ( I'm looking at you Chick-fil-A).

I've actually branched out and tried something different the past few times I have been here and everything has been great... especially with a side of cheese fries.

Keep doing what you do Hwy 55.

The employees are SO friendly and helpful. The grilled pimento cheese sandwich is out of this world! LOVE the frozen custard also! The onion rings are great! I'm VERY addicted to this place!!!

I enjoyed the all American burger with tots. It was good! Service was quick and courteous (thanks Jennifer!). Reasonably priced and well worth the time and money!
