Hudson's Hardware & Outdoor Equipment

Pretty good little store. I definitely save tons of time heading here instead of Lowe's or Home Depot. It's obviously a much smaller store so there is not as much selection in various sections. But that's never really a big deal, I've been able to find plenty of what I need and even sometimes they have items/brands you won't get at those big box stores. The staff are ok and always ask if I need help with anything.

The only thing I'm not a big fan of is the hours. Sometimes I don't finish work until late or may need something a little later in the day, or on Sunday at all. It's understandable that it can be hard to expand the business hours, especially when it seems companies are battling to fill all positions with today's workforce(or lack there of). It would be nice to see them open even an hour longer on Friday's or Saturday's.

That's not a deal breaker by any means and to be honest, it definitely helps me plan ahead better than I normally do. Plus, it gives me an excuse to step away from work sometimes, haha.

I really like this store and it is a great channel for me to do my part in supporting smaller businesses. They've definitely earned a majority share of my lawn care budget.

Nice solid hardware store. So glad they are expanding stores. Wish they had a few more nail sizes. I recommend.

I can't believe I never knew how great Hudson's is until recently! I used to take the long trek to Tractor Supply in Smithfield for my garden and poultry supply needs but now I can shop much closer to home! I visited Hudson's while the store was under COVID restrictions and the employees were still so friendly and helped us with a smile.

I was excited to find the rare Cherokee Purple tomato plants here and a huge variety of other kinds. All the plants I purchased are thriving in my garden.

If I ever decide to buy more hens, I'll check here when they have chicks in stock. My neighbor got her chickens here and they are healthy little hens. They have a good variety of poultry supplies which is awesome! I'll definitely shop here again.

We needed a new garden tractor for our new house. While I like the big box stores, there's NO support after the purchase especially for a riding mower. Hudson's is a full service shop with significant local rapport. We worked with Daniel Copley to finalize out decision on a Husqvarna TS348D garden tractor. Daniel was open, honest, and incredibly easy to work with. He wasn't trying to make a sale but rather make a new customer happy. While Daniel completed the paper work, I took my time to walk around the store to see if there was anything else we needed. We will be back for sure.

Very good shopping experience each time I go. Staff is friendly and helpful. Their products are priced competively and they carry some brands you wont find at the big box stores. They are one of the few businesses left not trying to price gouge us into oblivion.

Today I took a jammed up staple gun to Hudson's Hardware in Clayton to ask for help. Jackie spent so much time helping along with two other guys and Garrett finally was able to complete the task, refill my staple gun and send me on my way. This store has the best staff ever and it hasn't been the first time they have come to my rescue. Kudos to everyone there because they are always willing to help.

Nice little place. I ALWAYS bring my saws and stihl products here for repairs. The pricess are VERY good. As long as they stay as reasonible as they are I will never go to another place.

I also get hardware sometimes, chicken food, plants in the spring and they have a vaccination clinic and sell farm animal/pet foods.

Again nice local store. It reminds me of a "Neighborhood Tractor Supply" store and not actually having to drive to another city where they actually have one.

I own Dreams Come True Landscaping an we use this place almost everyday. The customer service is over the top. Travis an his crew are truly amazing. Everyone is so very helpful an always willing to go the extra mile. HIGHLY RECOMMEND them to everyone in in Johnston county

Yesterday I visited Hudsons’s needing chainsaw parts/pieces. I encountered a young man outside handing a gentleman his repaired chainsaw. I heard a small bit of their conversation, thought the young man sounded very nice. I’m standing in line (as this section was busy), the young man comes in and says, “have you been helped, mam?” Two times now this young man named Victor has been spot on with manners, being calm, just having a calmness with confidence to him! He looks up the parts I needed and rings me up. On the second register was Chase dealing with a man that was obviously aggravated. Chase was being pleasant helping him, and he did so respectfully. Needless to say I was very impressed with Victor’s calm, polite demeanor! I was also impressed with Chase handling the not so nice man! The day after a bad storm, things are hectic but both these young men were so respectful, polite and handled the needs of your customers!! I shop Hudson’s often, always get good service from your older staff but yesterday these two young guys impressed me!!!! Good job yesterday guys!!!!!

I’ve been shopping at Hudson’s for years and have never had a negative experience. Every time I enter the store I’m always greeted with a smile and there is always enough staff on hand to help with any questions I have. I get very helpful answers and recommendations on whatever I’m in need of. In a day where customer service is a lost art for so many businesses, Hudson’s gets it right every single time. Mr. Hudson himself is a kindhearted man and that is reflected in all of his employees as well. I encourage everyone to give them a try before heading to the big box stores. The pricing is always reasonable and the customer service is truly exceptional!

We absolutely LOVE Hudson's in Clayton. Our son calls it the "Popcorn Store" because they always have fresh delicious popcorn waiting for you (along with lollipops). Huge win for the kiddos. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. From dog food, to lawn equipment, to herbicides/pesticides, to hardware and more, they have all that I need when I need it. And, I'd much rather support them more than the big box stores. This store truly gives you that small town feel, where smiling and friendly faces greet you, assist you, and help you with your items to your vehicle! It's like no other place. Thank you for all that you do for our wonderful Clayton community!

Great business. Employee are ALWAYS super nice and helpful. Products are great! Love the quality and pricing of their perennial plants. Seasonal stuff is great as well.

Our weekend go to for everything the house needs. The gals and guys working here are friendly and genuine. Everyone is ready to help. The variety of dog food is great. Better than going to larger chain stores. The garden department, is 1000% better. They have excellent suggestions. Highly recommend going to Hudsons. We will miss these guys when we leave JoCo.

I love Hudson's Hardware! I'm there at least once a week, mostly for plants or other stuff for the garden. I had some great finds there and they have the best organic soil and mulch. They also have great chicken food you can't find nowhere else. Very nice people working there, they're always right there when I need help. This is a very custom oriented store, hard to find nowadays.

The owner/manager at Hudsons is a pleasure of a person. In every business there will be issues just like in life. But for the fact that the owner/manager is going above and beyond to fix an issue is definitely worth the business regardless of mishaps. They definitely have enough to meet your needs. Thank you.

We just purchased a tractor from the Clayton store and Travis was our salesman, He was friendly honest and knowledgeable very helpful with helping us pick out the tractor that fit our needs. The delivery guys were awesome and went over the tractor with us from top to bottom. This store is truly is a gem in the midst of a big Clayton community they definitely have won us over.
