Sealevel City Vegan Diner

We eat at sea level everytime we go to Wilmington and we're never disappointed. The food is delicious! I usually get the baja "shrimp" tacos and my husband gets the big snack. Both dishes can't be beat. The service is friendly and they are attentive to any food allergies, double checking to be sure nothing is included that shouldn't be. There aren't many vegan or plant based restaurants in the area so we're so glad that sea level is there and has the best food around!

Sealevel is sooooo good! Everytime I go, I have an excellent meal...so many flavors. I recently took my family and they all loved it too.
The Reuben and Cheeseburger are my favorites but there are so many fun items to pick from the menu. They have a great selection of deserts too.
The atmosphere is fun and funky too. Be sure to check out the cool wallpaper in the bathrooms. I highly recommend!

I’m a meat eating, gun slinging, woman loving dude and I came here solely because my wife forced me to. I have no complaints. The staff was extremely pleasant, they were friendly to my kids and the food was actually pretty good. While I wish I had meat and real cheese, it was tasty and filling. My favorite was the plantain appetizer. Will i come out here by myself? Probably not… will I come out here again with my wife, absolutely. Cheers!

This is one of my go to vegetarian restaurants. There are lots of options to choose from and the staff is always super friendly. The lentil cheeseburger is my favorite! Definitely recommend if you are in Wilmington

The joke is on you if you're like me and made a disparaging face when your wife suggested a vegan restaurant.

I'm a truck driver. I haul arms, ammunition, and explosives. I've driven 49 states and half of Canada. I've been a certified welder. There's not anything around a house I can't fix. I like a good steak, and generally am a steak, potatoes, and whiskey kind of guy. I'm probably not the usual patron of a vegan restaurant.

I am not at all the guy who picks a restaurant like this, and I absolutely would roll my eyes if anyone suggested I eat there.

But, I would have missed the best chili dog I've ever eaten. The hot dog tasted just like a hot dog. They did not destroy the flavor of the chili by over-cooking it, like so many places do, and the bun was not soggy which was awesome. The chili had a robust flavor with real peppers and a hearty, traditional taste that went nicely with the red onions and mustard.

I also had a German dog. I'm German so I'm no stranger to sauerkraut and good German cooking. This delicious German dish would have made my mother proud. I bet the person that put this German dog together probably makes a mean goulash.

The generous helping of fries are not too thick and not too thin, they're Goldilocks fries, perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of salt.

I don't usually do dessert, but they offered banana pudding, and I thought why not after such a flavorful lunch.

The first bite was the perfect blend of real banana, pudding, and whipped cream. As my wife and I worked our way through the dish, we found it had just the right amount of graham crackers to add to the medley of tasty sensations.

I took a good minute to write this review, because they obviously put a lot of thought into these dishes and most likely years of experience went into their fantastic menu.

This is really traditionally delicious food made with healthy ingredients that any red blooded American male can appreciate.

Check out this casual diner for the best vegan food options. The burgers, sandwiches, salads, and desserts are all absolutely delicious. Also, don't miss out on their rotating specials. I have yet to have anything I don't LOVE here. You'll also enjoy their sides of delicious homemade chips, fries, plantains, salads, and more. Highly recommend and I've had a lot of friends be very pleasantly surprised at how good the food was.

Amazing! These were the best nachos I have ever had. This place pays attention to small details and it makes a big difference. The lime salt on the nachos is brilliant.

What an absolute gem! The staff is awesome, food amazing, atmosphere is fun and the prices are probably too low. We had crunchy dogs, plantains and fries. I think that was the best hot dog I've ever had (kimchi was like icing on a cake). I love that the menu was so scrumptious, I had a hard time deciding what to eat. New in town? Look no further than this for your vegan meals. This is what you're looking for. Trust me. We flew in from Orlando and needed to satisfy our vegan pallette with hearty food, not just deserts, and it was satisfied at Sealevel.

Had NO idea this place was so cute inside! Forgot to take photos of the food, but it was equally wonderful. I had the lentil patty cheeseburger and it was really good. It held up really well and didn’t fall apart, and had a really yummy flavor to it. It was also a very decent portion with the fries for $10. I do wish the fries were seasoned a little more, but I liked the way they were cooked. Our server was really kind and let us take our time, explaining the menu and their favorite items. I want to come back and try their crunchy dogs next - a soy frank covered in corn flakes, and also the soup. I liked that it felt like a more modern diner inside and they played on diner food to make it vegan. Meals are all $15 or less. Hibiscus tea was refreshing. Overall a great experience.

SeaLevel is a great vegan spot in Wilmington, whether you’re vegan or not. The atmosphere is vintage chic with plenty of seating. The staff is always so friendly and kind. They always have specials listed and baked goods upon walking in. Every time I have come here whether it’s dining in or to-go, it’s always been top-notch. Their food is fresh, flavorful and creative. This is a must-go!

Was in town for work with my friend whose a vegan. I always look up the best spots in town and found this place. It did not disappoint.

The food was delicious! It was 30 mins out of my way but I'm so glad I went by there. The chili cheese fries were amazing. I can't wait to go back again. I was so happy to find a healthy vegan resturant while I was away from home. The burgers looked amazing, can't wait to try them next. The staff was also super friendly too.

This was such a lovely experience!! My family and I came for lunch today and were excited to try more, so we came back for dinner. 10/10 recommend. All the staff we encountered were polite and helpful. The kimchi was spicier than expected (but I prefer mild kimchi). Every dish we tried was delicious and I am looking forward to coming back to Wilmington to our new favorite diner!

Had a great meal here! Great service, great food! My favorite was the Buffalo tempeh sandwich with fried plantains! Wish it was a little spicier, but I really enjoyed it and the jerk sauce that came with the plantains was incredible!! We also got a hot dog and a brown rice tortilla wrap, both of which were good. Highly recommend, we will be back!

So dang good!! The chili cheese fries were great. We had three of the hot dogs (the crunchy, the buffalo crunchy, & the German). Every one of them was phenomenal and so cheap!!! I would happily pay twice the price for such amazing vegan hot dogs! The wait staff was super nice. The restaurant was super clean with social distancing in place. We can't recommend this place enough!

Wilmington your vegan game is strong! It's not Orlando or parts of California strong (yet), but it's better than some larger NC cities (looking at you Durham, Raleigh).
Most places throw Beyond or Impossible Meat at you and serve you a couple of variations on that style burger and maybe have some Jackfruit BBQ. Instead of following the crowd Sealevel went full old school diner and it was brilliant. The chili cheese fries were solid, the lentil burgers and milkshakes (Yes! they have milkshakes and may I recommend the Mint Chocolate Chip) were very respectable and felt wonderfully at home in a vegan diner. The best item was the kimchi, tempeh Reuben. Yes, kimchi sounds like a typo (it isn't) but somehow it works by being spiced ever so perfectly and pairing well with sauerkraut.
If you're in need of vegan comfort food and don't necessarily need it to be of the specifically Southern variety, Sealevel can fit that vegan milkshake sized hole in your stomach. Highly recommend.

Looking forward to dining inside soon. We got take out and had a great experience. Great, creative vegan selections and super friendly service. Even chased us in the parking lot as we were pulling out because we forgot the salad dressing.

My wife ordered Cashew Queso with chips, Lemongrass Coconut Soup and Plantains. I had a Lentil Burger Patty Melt with fries. That is THE BIGGEST batch o’ fries I have ever seen at a restaurant.

We will definitely be going again. If you’re vegan and in the Wilmington area I highly recommend Sealevel City.

One of the cleanest diners I've ever visited! My tree hugging, ocean loving arse loved every inch of the space. The food was awesome! The staff were all super sweet. The Buffalo crunch dog was my favorite. I'll definitely be back to try more items.

This place has such a fun and funky little vibe. The staff were lovely and very welcoming. We were greated promptly with menus and directed to sit where ever we liked. I loved that someone tended to the door instead of assuming patrons would just read the sign and sit. The tacos were SOOOOOOOO GOOD, and my hot chips were seasoned and cooked to perfection. My husband had the mushroom burger and was equally pleased with his meal. I love that I was able to enjoy a delicious, vegan meal with out an uptight atmosphere or super high price point.
