La Fontana Authentic Italian Restaurant SC

If you’re looking for good Italian food made by an Italian family that really knows what they’re doing this is the place to come. They have a sampler that will blow you away that includes four different types of food and each bite was better than the last. Everything that we have tried here has been amazing and on top of the food the owners are just so welcoming that you feel like you’re eating in a family home in the countryside of Italy. Highly recommended and don’t forget to get the bread…. it’s homemade and you have to be careful….you may just fill up on it and it would be a shame to not have room for desert.

Love this place! Went tonight for dinner and Ant our server was awesome and very efficient. Didn’t have to wait for refills, he was spot on for our needs. Our daughter ordered the pasta bowl to be made at the table they fire up and it was great, she chose the veal and loved it. I had the itilian sampler and soooo good! Husband had a veal dish and his was great as well. Service was very fast and the food tasted fresh and great! I found out they also do catering so we could order for family night in and pick it up!!!

Delicious authentic Italian cuisine !!! We ordered the Calamari as an appetizer. Then My wife ordered the Rigatoni Buongustino and I ordered the Fettuccine Bolongese! Not to mention an extra side of Italian Bread with pesto !!!

I've made a new friend thanks a lot just see you at the bar scene! And then I'm going to move forward to Paul who gave Five Star Fobes certified standard service !!!!!! five stars for you across the board thanks so much for making our stay at the light your service was impeccable and your most polite thank you for everything that you do thank you to the kitchen staff as well to the chefs and all that we know that takes to put in to make a meal great for those on the other side of the wall. You guys were amazing thank you so very much I look forward to eating their many more times in the future Happy New Year!!

This small restaurant has the best Italian food. The service and atmosphere add to the pleasurable experience. I highly recommend stopping in for a delicious meal. We ate here on our last trip to Charleston (6 years ago) and I was excited to see it is still open.

I was in Charleston with my daughter moving her into her apartment at the College of Charleston when we ran into someone on King Street who recommended La Fontana. So we went and loved everything about it! The food is amazing, fresh homemade, truly authentic Italian food. We are from Boston and are Italian. Many restaurants claim to be authentic but are far from it. Not this one, we both ate our entire meal and had dessert after saying we couldn't eat another bite! Fabiana, the owner was so kind to me and especially to my daughter who was having all kinds of feelings. She made her feel safe and at home!!! I know the food is what you are all most interested in, so you will not be disappointed! If I could I would give La Fontana 10 stars!

This place is a little diamond. Really amazing food, great atmosphere, and the staff are very polite. Would definitely recommend if going on a date or just want to relax.

A little higher priced but the service was Great, the portions very generous and delicious. My hubby has a seafood pasta which was packed with seafood! The chicken masala was also.delicious. We were able to have dinner the next night again with the leftovers!

Give La Fontana a try. Ignore trolls and snobs. Yes, Charleston is moving towards the wonderful, stylish, boutique type restaurants, but Italian is about the food. La Fontana is run by Fabiana, who is putting her heart and soul into this restaurant. I had the pasta Bolognese and it was wonderful. My wife had the tagliatelle with shrimp, and she loved it. I suggest you support a long-term, loyal, local business and not judge the book by its cover. Be now, be unique, go retro and have fun and a great, authentic Italian meal at La Fontana!

Fabulous authentic food. Andrew was so very friendly and attentive.Was so excited when the chocolate mousse came, I forgot to take a picture. Italian fare of the finest, highly recommended

Showed up with a party of 15 and they accommodated us with no problem! Food was amazing and honestly I had a few drinks so I’m having a hard time remembering our servers name but she was awesome! We had a blast and will definitely be back soon!

Had no idea what to expect and this wound up being the best meal of our entire vacation. Had Chicken Parmesan w/ a side of pasta and sausage. Absolutely delicious, sausage tasted homemade.

This was an awesome find here in Charleston! Superb food quality and service! The table bread was literally the best I have ever had. Portions were generous, and very authentic Italian seasoning. You should try them out ASAP!

Absolutely loved the food and experience. My girlfriend is Italian and said that this food reminded her of her childhood. Food is definitely worth the price, especially with the amount of food given. Most places only give 3 or 4 large mushroom ravioli, this place I was given at least 8 to 10. My girlfriend's dish was a mound of pasta all cooked to perfection. We will definitely visit this place again, we prefer this place over indaco which is in downtown Charleston.

Another great experience. We had not visited there since Covid. Wonderful food, service and atmosphere. Thank you Fabianna for making our dinner celebration very special. Great food!

This place is a GEM! So tasty and pipping HOT take out !! The Lobster Ravioli is absolutely amazing. And the Shrimp Alfredo. The owner is so pleasant and made me feel welcome💜 will definitely be back !
