Joe's Place

The Hot Dog Special has always been a favorite of mine. Good Chicago dogs with house made fries and a drink for a little over $11. Not a bad deal for a lunch! The interior of the building is so fun, especially since the exterior doesn't lead you to believe it's much of anything inside. We will be back again!

Joes places, a local gem within the community. In the 15 yrs of me going to this place it’s only gotten better every time. Had the two dog special Chicago style of course. They packed on the fries, definitely a pound or more of potatoes on your plate. Very good job on the hot dog. Also had a medium pepperoni pizza with they how made ranch. 🔥🔥🔥 if you’re cruising thru Marengo during lunch and dinner always stop by joes.

... nostalgic Americana restaurant, with quite a bit of mid 20th century interior signage/decor. The food is very good! Everything from pizza, hamburgers, hotdogs, Polish sausage, salads, ribs, etc. I always wish the owner would add their logo, as a very large giant painted sign on the very large empty brick two-story exterior, reading "Joe's Place" and lit at night...

Food was great! Freshly made to order. We added the combo option to our sandwiches not knowing you get a huge basket full of fresh cut fries. We had so many French fries we couldn't eat them all! Next time we'll know to split the fries.

Food is very good. Front end staff always go above and beyond to Thank for business. I like crispy and wet french fries they do a good job.

Joe's has good food. The lasagna with a side of italian sausage and garlic bread was really good. We love a savory pasta sauce, and that's just Joe's has. The italian beef was ok. The fresh cut fries are really good. It was upsetting that their lemonade dispenser was out of order, or they just didn't make any.

The service was exceptional for the large group of 18 we had. We love the Portillos sort of vibe you get there.

We'll definitely visit again!!

The best Cesar salad in the area, this thing could feed 2 with no problem. Perfect amount of dressing and chicken. The dogs are good too.

Joe's Place boasted chicken is delicious. We always get the baked potato with it as a healthy side. However, their French fries are phenomenal and are an excellent choice if you don't have to watch your cholesterol. They also have wonderful pizza. Just be sure to take a sweater; it's often cool inside.

Attented a Lions Region meeting on the second floor, the place was a great venue for the event. Staff was very accommodating and provided us with a fabulous steak and potato dinner.

Good food and quick. The Buffalo Chicken wrap was very good and the bread pudding was awesome. Live all the Petroliana and other old signs all over the walls. We'll be back

Food is very good. I love Joe's pizza, Italian beef and fries, and minestrone soup.

Joe's Place is a great restaurant for traditional Chicago area lunch sandwiches. The menu includes Hamburgers, Polish Sausage, Pizza, and side dishes. I had a Polish sausage sandwich and home cut fries on my first visit, and it was excellent. Very reminiscent of Portilo's restaurants in Chicago and suburbs.

Consistently great food and very friendly staff. Been going here since it was located off of 176 and have never been disappointed or let down with the quality. We have also had food catered with all of our guests impressed by the broasted chicken especially! Keep up the great work!

Great Italian beef and the fries are cut fresh so they taste so good.

So my son and I were camping in Union IL and we stopped at Sullivan's. We were going to a different place, and saw Joe's Place was open. It's absolutely delicious. I got the big burger and it was so yummy. We got the twice baked potatoes too...all I can say is we'll be back!

Nice surprise. We pulled up and there were NO cars and we thought oh no it is closed! We called in side and ordered our food. Part of our order was a gluten free pizza which was awesome! Taco salad was really good! Chicken strips and lasagna were tasty. We ordered an 18 pizza and that also was very good, awesome!

Great food, you can tell they use high quality ingredients so it makes sense that the prices are a bit more than some other places around town. I don’t mind paying a bit more for better food! You get what you pay for. Very layed back atmosphere and an overall great experience.

We have never had a bad meal here. Love the paninis!
