I first started eating at Yats at the location in Broad Ripple which I truly saw many acts of kindness to the community and customers. I’ve pretty much had everything on the menu through the years and have never been disappointed. Everyone is super chill that works there and you can get a meal fast and be in and out. Chili Cheese Etouffee W/Crawfish is probably the most popular, Maque Choux W/Chicken is delicious too! You can have half and half orders if you like two different for the same meal. If you’re not sure if you’ll like something that you want to order they’ll let you sample a small amount to see if you’ll like which is very nice. I could list all the good dinners but truly all are good in my opinion. Extra bread is always a good option too! Play great music with cool atmosphere. Another great addition to the community. Soo delicious!!! High quality food & absolutely amazing service and atmosphere!! Wife's & I first time here and we r from NOLA and we know our Cajun food & spices. Hands down best rue north of any bayou!!!

Great food really fast. Limited menu which is why they can get the food out so fast. Best place to eat for lunch in a rush or to grab for dinner without having to order ahead.

A half order is more than enough for most but the price difference makes it incredibly hard to not just get a full order.

Yum!! The food is absolutely delicious and the young man working was so patient with us and our kids.

The chili cheese etouffee with shrimp and the maque were both awesome.

Definitely will be back!

I highly recommend this place to anyone who likes Cajon style food. It is very very good. It is a hoosier style of Cajon. I am in no way saying this is true Louisiana Cajon food. However, it is dang close or as close as you can get in the Midwest. It was $37.75 before tip for 4 people. This price also includes 2 large adult drinks 4 fountain drinks and 2 bottles root beers. An even bigger added plus it takes them less than 60 seconds to get your food prepared and ready for you. Their bread is amazing. Their adult PBR IS THE BEST I'VE HAD YET. THIS PLACE IS A HIDDEN TREASURE. You can get spicy or not so spicy food too. Once more I highly recommend Yats.

Love love love. The food is amazing and friendly staff. I've been making a copycat recipe of their drunken chicken because I can't get enough. The etouffee is amazing.

I have always loved this place. My favorite is the chili cheese etouffee, with the mushroom and spinach a close second. But I wouldn't pass on any of it! The desserts are really nice as well.

Great food here. Love their roating selection. Staff is great, food prep is lightning fast, atmosphere is fun and unique. Give it a shot, there will be no regrets.

I LOVE this location!!! The food is ALWAYS hot and the staff are awesome and friendly. I will always go out of my way to eat here.... and the bread... goodness.. so delicious.

This place is an Indy staple. What I love most about Yats is that no matter which one you go to you know the staff are going to be helpful and eager to explain what is in each dish. Despite the menu changing daily the flavors are never off or seem to vary from location to location. There are several types of hot sauces available as well as some Cajun style seasoning to add to your dish. Sometimes there are dessert options available from local confectioners.

Yats is an Indianapolis staple. I tell anyone I see from out of town they need to try it. I had one of my favorites, the red beans with smoked sausage. I added sour cream, onion, and cheese with extra bread. So good. Love supporting Joe V.

Excellent authentic New Orleans creole food. I had a split plate with red beans smoked sausage (with a good smoky flavor) and chicken maque choux. Both were full of flavor and together made a good sized meal for dinner. They serve warm French bread with a butter garlic creole spread which helped make the bread especially tasty. Service is extremely fast and took only about three minutes to get my order and the folks there are very friendly and accommodating. Not a huge selection but I understand that the menu items change daily or weekly but they still had quite a few items to choose. If you like delicious Cajun food at very reasonable prices then Yats is the place for you.

The atmosphere was very welcoming, as well as the cashier! This was my first time trying this place, so I very much appreciate not being rushed, as well as the sample so I could make the right decision. Pricing per portion was sufficient and that bread was great!

Eating here was my first experience with cajun food and I absolutely love it. Truly one of my favorite restaurants. My go to is the drunken chicken with extra bread. Probably can’t go wrong with anything on the menu though! Go for a pint of an entree if you’re looking to split a meal. Also appreciate that drinks are affordable (like $2) but water cups are also available. Wide availability of seating. If you’re thinking of trying it, just go for it!

It’s been a while Yat’s and better than I remembered. Best garlic bread ever. The Drunken Chicken was awesome but The Chill Cheese Crawfish étouffée was the bomb!!

Love going here for lunch with my coworkers! Also a huge plus that they offer a vegan option!

The food is great and so is the service. They will happily give you samples of the dishes to try so you don't have to play guesswork! Will come again when I'm back in town!

We love this place. We usually go a couple times a month. Most of the dishes are a bit spicy, but the white chicken chili is mild enough for the whole family to enjoy (I think there's also a vegetarian version). The staff is friendly and the food is super fast. We plan to keep going!
