Dr. Karen Sherman

I have known Karen for over 20 years. Her skill set is expansive and she thinks outside the box. She is always trying to do what is best for her clients.
Having her clients "work" in therapy and in sessions allows her clients to build their own skills so they can be more successful at dealing with their own issues later on.
She tries to accommodates her clients schedules and in an emergency will return calls and set up extra sessions if necessary.

The BEST!!! Karen has helped me through various issues over the years and she’s absolutely amazing. Insightful, helpful, relatable, kind…I can’t say enough. Absolutely adore her.

Dr. Sherman is one of the most caring and empathetic doctors I know. She is always available on the telephone for last minute consultations and, if busy with a client, will return your call immediately. She is widely regarded as exceptional in her field. I highly recommend her.

To share my own experience about Karen Sherman, in my opinion a “doctor” such as herself should possess certain qualities starting with tolerance but not limited to. This woman and her friends, who I’ve never met took it upon herself to attack my political beliefs on a public forum based on lies and her own closed minded opinions. That is called slander and bullying. She doesn’t even practice the fundamentals of what she preaches. That is very alarming and disturbing to anyone that would seek out her guidance. Extremely unprofessional. I hope she takes a good hard look at her own conscience and is able to seek professional help perhaps from a fellow colleague so she can learn not to judge people on their constitutional rights to our 1st amendment. I have also contacted NYSED to file a professional discipline complaint form so this does not happen in the future.

For a psychologist that is supposed to not judge someone on their life choice, she does JUST that! Makes assumptions on people with out even meeting them and give them a fair shot! Do yourself a favor and steer clear from her! Find yourself a more compassionate and more professional Dr.!

Think twice before making an appointment with this psychologist. Not only is she rude and unprofessional, She is judgmental and not open minded. No doctor should make you feel uncomfortable due to your political view.

I thought long and hard about leaving a review for Dr. Karen Sherman during these unprecedented times, but against my better judgment I feel as if I should make others aware of how this doctor may treat her future patients.  I am the owner of a small business that was currently hit hard by the pandemic.  Three months of shutdown without funding.  Miraculously, myself and my employees made it through and are currently working hard to rebuild. Dr. Karen Sherman (who has never visited our establishment) had heard through the grapevine that an employee of mine has a different political stance than one that she carries. She made an assumption based on hearsay.   Again, I will say, that she has never visited our establishment.  She took it upon herself to call us to let us know she would never support us due to employing a woman that supports a side that she does not.  Fine. To each his own.  After the phone call, she went one step further to leave us a one star review in hopes of others reading it and not frequenting our business.  Explain to me how this is fair and the way of a psychologist who is trained to keep an open mind, to be compassionate  and accept others? Not only that, but the lengths this "doctor" would go through to destroy a small business during a pandemic, not realizing that the ideals of one does not complete the whole of the business.  To try and destroy the livelihood of others that are breaking their backs to put food on the table during these trying times. Terrible. At my business, we accept all.  We are an equal opportunity employer that would never judge our employees or our clients.  We strive on creating unity within the work place and not diversity.  I am appalled that a doctor of her standing would go through the measures she has gone through to publicly bash a small business and an individual!!! As a patient walking through her door I would hope for a compassionate & understanding therapist, not someone who would judge me on my personal beliefs. The reason people seek the advice of a psychologist is to feel safe, not to be judged. I am hear to make others aware that the latter would be obvious, unfortunately, when seeking the advice of this doctor.

Very disrespectful. Poor representation of others in the medical community.

Disgrace to any dr in mental health.
