Admiralty Inlet Natural Area Preserve

We enjoyed this beautiful preserve on a sunny February afternoon. Plenty of room to run your pup, lots of educational sign along the trails, and a beautiful view to top it all off. Definitely worth checking out.

We love this 2.3 mile walk any time of year. It's a bit muddy in spots this time of year so wear appropriate shoes. It's a lovely mix of old growth forest, sea views and meadow land. Every season has its own beauty.

This preserve is jointly owned by the state Department of Natural Resources, which owns a conservation easement, and Whidbey Camano Land Trust, which owns and manages the land. The NAP is located within Ebey’s Landing National Historical Reserve and protects one of only 11 remaining populations of golden paintbrush, a federally listed threatened plant species.

Great little stroll, a couple good views. No beach access.

A couple of deer were resting under a tree in the prairie (don't they know to stay off the restoration area?).
Has the remnants of an observation station that was connected with Fort Casey. Speaking of Fort Casey, the views of the inlet here are no better than the ones there.
One of the trails is a very long, useless dead end.
