Chena's Alaskan Grill

The food was very delicious. Went many times during the trip and the prices were a bit more but that’s Alaska. The salmon was original and tasty, the seafood pasta was excellent as well. Honestly have no complaints. Service was prompt and our waiter was very informative for any questions we had.

This is one of those places that we knew was a tourist trap, but wanted to see the appeal anyway. We went in a little worried because recent reviews said service was non-existent, but it proved the opposite. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The food was good. I think Alaska prices make it a little pricier than it typically would be. We wanted to try the salmon or halibut, but we are still new to fish and didn't want to dive head first, so we went with the seafood fettuccine as well as the elk meatloaf. My only complaint with the food was that my mashed potatoes were really cold. The rest of the meat and veggies were hot, but the potatoes even though they still tasted amazing; cold. The fettuccine was really good. There was large chunks of vegetables as well as good sized pieces of salmon, halibut, and shrimp. The house salad was a bit boring for the price. I think that could have used more toppings just because $10 is steep for just lettuce and a little bit of carrots. Otherwise, this was one of those places we have gone to and it was good, but nothing I need to return to. It wasn't bad, I just wouldn't have a reason to go back.

Had dinner last night ,the food was fantastic! They use hot plates so food comes out hot and fresh ! We had the seafood chowder which was amazing ! Tried the calamari which is strips and comes with an apricot chili sauce which was so delicious we ordered coconut shrimp with the same sauce . Be sure to ask for the bread with pesto ! Add some wine for a lovely evening
Our waiter , Petco was from Bulgaria and we so enjoyed his company and his service was beyond exceptional. We sat in the outside deck which only enhance the whole experience!

Settled on the River, live music, nice outdoor deck. Said we had an hour wait, but seated in 35 minutes. Attentive wait staff, and good food.

The Halibut was fantastic. Nice large filet with good seasoning and cooked to perfection. Would like to see a larger selection of beers. Highly recommended.

Our first night in Fairbanks after a long day of travel and the waitress was incredible nice and helpful especially with our tired kids. The food was great and the restaurant was right on the river with great views.

Had my birthday dinner here last night. It was a wonderful experience. The cook who I found out was Robert McGee cooked my steak to the perfect rare it was beautiful and so tender it pretty much melted in my mouth. The mashed potatoes were hot which surprised me because most places they wnd up being cold. I felt very special the serving staff (everyone of them) came by my table and wished me a happy birthday. Our server Greg was the best (we have had him last year) he already knew that we would want creamer and sweetener with our coffee and knew to being the pot. Such a great guy love hearing some of his life stories. Told him that he should be wearing a black or a blue shirt instead of the green. Before the end of our meal Mr. Tongue, the chef Darren Biggs and the cook Robert McGee all came out and wished me a happy birthday. I was feeling just a little low this year I normally don't mind my age I usually embrace it but this year I didn't want to get that one year older. They all made me feel good to embrace being 47. Thank you to everyone last night for the wonderful memorable birthday I will have.

The food was great. Service was a bit slow, but the scenery was great, (we waited extra time so we could sit outside) so we weren't too stressed about it. There was live music that night which was fun.

What a fantastic dining experience! The food was exquisite with my personal favorites being the ground elk and beef meatloaf and the once in a lifetime clam chowder. Our server, Colleen, was super helpful explaining the selection of foods from the buffet. She also shared information about the best days, hours, and places to see the aurora. We will definitely eat here again and recommend it with 5 strong stars 🌟 . Thanks Colleen and compliments to the chef!

Great place had dinner there every night for three nights and something different every night. Wonderful waitress would recommend it to anyone in a real nice campground along the river stayed there.

Excellent food. Very well prepared. Had grilled halibut and seafood fettuccini. The noodles were just right al dente. Portions are on the small side, that’s the small complain

Gem. On the river, excellent service, pairings on the menu with 3 pages of selections. Lots of veggie and even vegan faire.... 5 stars. A little freeway noise, but its dinner in a city...
We had the honey halibut, 30 bucks and awesomeness. Beef stroganoff was rich and creamy.

We had a wonderful time. Staff very friendly! I had the Seafood Fettuccine, it was excellent! My husband had the seafood chowder. He said it was good but mine was better. We shared the cake of the day. Not sure of the name but it had chocolate chips in it and a Toffee sauce and icecream. Delicious! Beautiful setting next to the river. Great evening.

Delicious food. Like many spots in Fairbanks they say they are struggling with staffing. Had a good 8-10 staff standing around desk. Hostess kept referencing kitchen staff issues. She wasn't very nice to the floor staff. Great portions for the price.

Menu looked amazing. Restaurant is located on the hotel property. Amazing views. Beautiful restaurant with lots of outside waterfront seating. Full bar. The hotel has huge super clean updated quite rooms and lots of cabin's on property. Way better prices then other hotels nearby. Is super close to airport with shuttle available. Staff was friendly and super helpful. We will be back!

Walked up from Pikes Waterfront Lodge to dine here and was pleasently surprised. Service was super friendly and the food was great. Sunday night guitarist provided an excellent atmosphere. Certainly our best dinner in Fairbanks. If your staying at Pikes don't be lazy, do yourself a favour and take the 10 minute walk up the road it is well worth the effort.

We were so impressed by going here. I'll start off by saying we felt terrible, we arrived about 30 minutes before closing with a party of 5, 3 of them children, but we were hungry after flights were delayed and we finally arrived in Fairbanks 10 hours later than planned. I asked if they would sit us out if the kitchen was closed knowing that they were closing soon and there was no hesitation, they welcomed us in. We met our awesome waiter, Petko, who took the time to meet us and chat with us about our stay and really connect. We didn't get rushed at all! We asked about the chowder and he told us a funny story and recommended it to us "unless we don't like fish!". We loved it and have not found chowder that tastes as good or has as much substance in all the other places we have gone. We also got coconut shrimp, salad, and some easy meals for the kids. Petko came around often to make sure we had everything we needed and took the time to have quick conversations that made us feel welcome. We got our food served, ate it and were able to leave about 5 minutes after "closing" but before some other customers who were there before us (win!). We would definitely go back in a heartbeat, mostly because of the amazing service and for a chance to eat some more chowder. Thank you Petko for helping to make an enjoyable meal at the end of a very long day!

Deliciousness! We decided to stop here for dinner on our way to the airport to end our Alaskan vacation- didn't disappoint!!
We got prompt service and mentioned to our waiter we needed to dine fairly quickly because had to get to the airport. He promptly took our order and we got it, probably, within 10 min!! Our waiter was Yowan (sp?) He was so polite!!
My husband and I split the seafood fettuccine in the white wine sauce, a tad spendy, but totally worth it- it was delicious!! Great experience, cute place!

We just experienced the special Father’s Day menu. The food was fabulous. Service was excellent, Nichole was our server! They had live acoustic music 🎶 Would highly recommend
