This is truly one of the most extensive public parks that I've had the pleasure of visiting. There are many different exhibits for people with all interests, not to mention that it's all very affordable considering the activity level you experience.

The vendors here, to me, do a wonderful job of embodying what Fairbanks history is really about. Public parks in different cities should strive to provide their citizens with experiences similar to this one!

This place might be a better start then the Visitors Museum.
The think we liked most was the friendly people in charge , always telling us much more than an information book could give.
The shops offer good price products and I highly recommend this tour.
Haven’t been at the train because it is noise.
MUST GO PLACE for an understanding of how Fairbanks became a town from a forest.

Great place to grab Soulvaki or other pleasure foods, park for your children, and Museum. This is a half-day experience so come with good shoes and by all means bring your fur babies.

Any season, Pioneer Park (known to locals as “Alaska Land”), is a must stop location. They have motorhome overnight parking, eateries, history, quaint shops, and many things to see. There’s a wonderful play area for children, a carousel, a 3 hole disc golf course, and small miniature golf course. Frequent festivals and special events take place at this park throughout the year.

Pioneer Park was a fun place to visit. It’s a great place to hang out with family and friends. We enjoyed our visit here and we will definitely come here next time we are in Fairbanks! We walked around and looked around Pioneer Park. There’s lots to see and experience. There were swings for the family as you can see from the pictures.

Cane here during the winter on a very snowy day and had a beautiful stroll around. Very nice scenery. Nice to walk around and see all the different areas of Fairbanks. Nice area for photography. Cute little log houses that you could peek into. The auditorium was a bit outdated but nice to go in and see the local art exhibitions.

The History of Fairbanks and Alaska.
What an amazing place Fairbanks has become. It's beautiful here, nature makes it incredible the people that call it home make it amazing. People ask how your doing?, and mean it. If you love outdoor activities you could do something different every day, (gearing up for ice fishing myself). Or go take in one of the local hockey games, even see the Northern Lights. As you walk around and see the historical tools and realize what it took for those that came before us to scratch out a life built on hopes and dreams. Some of those that call this home still believe in those dreams and Alaska still offers them to those willing to try.

We went to Piner Park as part of our ticket to salmon bake.
What a Great park area, they had lots of antique machinery, lots of interesting stories on easy to read plaques, some nature with a small duckpond.(there was a small family of ducks, with probably five or six ducklings)
Lots of picnic tables, the salmon bake buildings were set up great, good use of electronics so that once we paid they simply looked up our name and served us immediately. We made the comment, that if we ever did a Alaska cruise again, we would start in Fairbanks and give ourselves a couple of days to explore this town.
I saw a nice walking path along the river, well-maintained park setting, had some of the stationary exercise equipment along the way.
I saw lots of little mom and pop shops for dinner, crapes, and other eating establishments.
Pioneer Park had an an area, that included several buildings that were re-creations of the original town, each was a little shop whether candy, saloon, etc.
We went to a play, show, at The Palace which was located in the same area.
Overall we had a great time, we overheard many others with the same sentiment!

A relaxing place to take the family and learn some history for no cost! There is a lot to see and do here, and many mini-exhibits like Buddy the dog (who you can play with and talk to the owner about), restaurants, gift shops, reindeer interaction, art gallery, train car, boat, historic museum, and more! There are also paid attractions like mini golf. There's something for everyone here!

A great family spot in Fairbanks. Playground, train ride, tons of Alaska history and if you get hungry every night there’s the salmon bake. Dry camping in the parking lot which is great if you are passing through town or get there late. Great access to the Chen’s river bike trails.

Great local park to walk around and enjoy sights. Take the train round around the park, best $2 you will spend. Visit the train museum and see some old HO's and other model trains, can even walk on a steam train. The air museum is another really nice place to visit. Some really neat artifact can be found here. There a part that is like an old gold Rush town, log cabins and all.
If you have kids they have a play ground and the kids were having a blast out there. Theere is something for all to enjoy.

The Wickersham House at Pioneer Park was built in 1904 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. This is a cute historical house and a must see. Check it out!

A great place for many activities from shopping, to exploring the several museum's, different varieties of art in music to culture to contemporary, and a playground for the kids. In addition, every night at 7 they feature a music performances. The Pioneer Park also has many food vendors and a lot of different places to have a picnic or a BBQ or your organization or business can book a pavilion for summer picnic parties. They have an optional RV parking as well. So, much more to name, definitely a great place for the family and visitors. I would definitely recommend coming here.
