Fairfax County Judicial Center

This is the center of fairfax county judical system and the newly updated building truly does justice to its history and eminence to the common man life.My only peeve is the distance of parking from the court house for the common man, while the lawyers and the cops parking is right next to the building,we have to walk a bit in the open.

First, this place is HUGE! It felt intimidating just to enter. Understandably, they require you walk through a metal detector. Once you pass that, there is an information desk where you can get help to find the department you need. I needed the Probate office because my parents had passed and I needed to ask questions about inherited property.
The staff in the Probate office were courteous and knowledgeable. Because of a cancellation I was able to get an appointment sooner than expected; the normal wait for an appointment is about 2 months.
When I met with the Court Clerk, I had all the paperwork in order. She asked good questions and I had the documents needed. It took about 45 minutes and I was able to submit both parent's Will documents into probate and the Clerk was able to put my parent's property into my name since I am the sole heir.
It was efficient and pleasant; the Clerk was polite and we had a good conversation while she handled the processing.
