such an amazing and adorable cat cafe! there are so many cats and they are very active, most love playing with toys and some just petted. super well maintained and clean plus the decorations are all cat themed! really great pricing too compared to other cat cafes and i would definitely come back

I loved hanging out with all the kitties, young and old alike. I was never offered a beverage so I'm not sure about that but it honestly wasn't needed. Even if you need a fluffy break...I recommend hanging out here for a bit.

The atmosphere is 100% dedicated to the love and lives of cats. Proceeds from paid visits help them keep cats cage free and acclimate to shared spaces with other cats and humans while they wait to be adopted. There is a complimentary "cafe" with an assortment of teas and other hot drinks. We enjoyed playing with cats, reading cat books, and playing cat-themed games.

What a great place! Very clean new location. Super neat experience, well put together cat cafe. Employees were very helpful, informative, and kind. Made appointments ahead of time for our family, we were able to get in the next day. We have been to a few other cat cafes across the US, and really liked our experience here. This one was a little different, as the drinks were self-serve, but we were really there for the animals, and never got around to the drinks. I believe they mentioned they had tea, coffee, hot chocolate as some of their options. There were so many sweet cats in the center, and loved their kitten room! It was very hard to go and not take one home. When we were there, we did see a few cats get adopted which was awesome! Love that this opportunity opens up doors for these beautiful cats.

Would highly recommend checking this place out! Especially if you're in the neighborhood for a family friend.

I stumbled across the Catnip Cat Cafe and it was the perfect place to kill some time and enjoy hanging out with cats and fellow cat lovers. I enjoyed the drinks they had and that they welcome outside food & drink. Had I known, I would have come there after my coffee stop instead of before! This would be a great place for a date for cat lovers.

I visited the new location on Colley Ave and it is a wonderful place. It is very cozy, brightly lit and charming.

The cats are well cared for and seem happy. It was so nice to see adoptable cats in open space.

The young lady who greeted me was pleasant and knew about the different cat personalities.

There were adoptable kittens in another open room and I spent some time playing with them too.

There are lots of toys and playtime is encouraged.

The number of guests is limited to prevent crowding for the cats and people.

I had a good time at Catnip Cafe.

What a lovely place. The cats seemed happy and well cared for. The place did not smell at all. The staff were knowledgeable and kind. I didn't bother with food or drink. Highly recommend!

Always fun to see many cats! I want more cats if my husband would agree to have more than our 2 but still like to go see many of them at a time at some cat cafes when we visit an area that has one. It’s cheaper ($12) per person than the other 2 cat cafes I’ve been to in Virginia recently ($18 Harrisonburg, $20 DC). As a cat parent who’s done a lot of nutrition reading to fix my cats’ former issues and cut out a lot of stuff they used to get (cut fish and dry food), I think it would be good if they charged a bit more like $15+ and used that extra to give the cats each one wet food can a day (in addition to the existing dry food) to help the cats/prevent other health issues. I know that’s hard when it’s this many cats but the cost to visit is lower than other cat cafes right now, so admission cost increase could cover that. The cats overall seem happy seeing people. I don’t know how you get this many cats to get along together- we had enough trouble getting our 2 cats to accept each other over a period of weeks of slow introduction when we got the second one. That’s what amazes me when you get this many cats together.

My partner and I initially visited to find a companion for our young cat, and after three visits, we were smitten with one of their kittens. Each time we came here, we were greeted with very friendly staff and plenty of curious front desk cats. You have the option here for 1 hour or 30-minute stays, and there is complimentary tea and water inside.

Kittenpalooza is a separate reservation you can make to go into the room in the back with all of the young kittens (in my opinion, worth it!). The cats here are all from local rescue groups, and they all seemed very well taken care of and relaxed. There is plenty of space and toys for all of the cats, and you can definitely tell that their well-being is prioritized.

If you are looking to adopt, note that they don't do same-day adoptions. However, the application process was pretty straightforward and quick. The staff here are also a great resource in terms of vetting a cat's personality and determining how a cat would fit in with your household. In all, I would highly recommend this cat cafe, whether you are looking to adopt or relax!

Lovely spot with two rooms (one for adults, the other a special events area for kittens). There were 22 cats when we visited but everything was clean and you wouldn't know it.

The cats were so friendly and playful and happily all adoptable. Lots of opportunity to get a friendly cat near you for pets and love.

Such a lovely place! Unfortunately we weren’t able to adopt but the staff were very friendly, and there were 21 cats when we entered. I do recommend making a reservation, as you get to go into the special kitten room, and play with the kittens. The place not only smelled great but was decorated beautifully and kept clean, despite the free-roaming cats! 3 cats got adopted while we were there, and one was getting adopted when we left. It was very spacious and the cats all seemed very comfortable. A few were skittish, which made sense because they were socializing them to people as well as getting them adopted out. I highly recommend this place! Only slight thing I wish was different was there was no food, only complimentary drinks, but that makes sense as they were trying to adopt out the cats, not serve people food. Such a nice place with such nice people and cats. Will definitely be going back when I get the chance!

Cute place to hang out with sweet sociable cats, lovely staff and the complimentary drinks are a bonus! Definitely reserve before coming in so you can have all that time for the cats, also I reccomend coming at the time of your appointment or 1-2 min earlier. If you try to come 15-30 min early especially if you're traveling you will most likely have to wait, it's just like a restaurant reservation or movie ticket. There's a certain number of people that can be inside the cat cafe and they don't want to overcrowd the cats either, makes perfect sense to have a capacity! Check out the merchandise too, I love the socks and gloves they're super soft!

First time going. A cat lovers dream. What a variety and their stories come from every different angle. These babies need homes. Some have never had a home. And this place gives them the opportunity to learn to trust humans and possibly their future family. ❤🐈❤

This is the second cat cafe I’ve been too and I adore it! The cats are adorable and all have different personalities. The staff were all very nice especially the lady with the black cat shoes and purple hair 😊 (I didn’t catch her name). Definitely will be back!!

It was a little quaint and small space that was comfy and super nice. The cats were super nice and well behaved! (Don’t worry, the cats are perfectly healthy, they’re just a bit silly in the photos. The super flexible cat in majority of the pictures below is named Catspurr, get it? Like Casper? 10/10 would come again.

My husband brought me to Catnip Cat Cafe as a surprise date. He purchased an all day pass, so we spent a good amount of our day just hanging out and enjoying good company. It's a cozy place and the employees genuinely care about both their guests and residents. They give you insight on each cat (background, likes/ dislikes) so they truly become near and dear to you. If you can spend more than an hour at the location I highly recommend it, because it gives the cats time to become adjusted to your presence. Our favorite was MJ who started out as super shy, but was the perfect companion for lounging.

The place would be more fun if the cats are more friendly. Only a few would sniff your fingers and let you touch them.

Other than that, the place is quiet, calm, clean and cozy. Free coffee, tea and hot cocoa when you pay for a reservation.

I actually loved it! That's a shock to me because I don't tend to favor cats over dogs, but I have mad respect. It was a pleasure spending time with them. Observing and interacting with them. I enjoyed myself. 😊 They also provided coffee, and an assortment of hot beverages to drink (hence the Cafe part in the name). I love coffee ☕. My daughter actually recommended going. We made it a family outing. I would definitely go again.
