This place is absolutely amazing. We have been going there since it opened and we have never been disappointed. The great thing about this place is you can sample before you buy. JUST AWESOME. Takes the guessing out of the "I'm not sure if I will like it". Next time your in downtown Norfolk, stop by. I bet you will be glad you did. DISCLAIMER: Don not blame me if you become addicted.

Beautiful place of business employees are warm and friendly and the CAKES ARE DELICIOUS!!!!! I’ve tried strawberry, butter pecan, coconut, pineapple, and I must say every single time I’ve never been disappointed.You can call in orders or pickup I do orders of the mini pownd cakes but they offer different sizes 10/10

My husband and I are huge fans of Pownd Cakes by Jen, so choosing them for our wedding cake was a no-brainer.

Jen was super accommodating and allowed us to try as many cake flavors as we wanted. We settled on caramel (our favorite), lemon, and chocolate chocolate chip.

We ended up purchasing a large three-tier cake to decorate, along with mini cakes that we cut into fours so the guests could try each flavor.

The cake was a hit among our guests, and we certainly didn't mind taking the leftover cake home. :)

What an awesome first time experience with Mrs. Jen! She let us sample as many flavors as we wanted and answered all our questions! Being a chef myself I must say her mini pound cakes were delicious. Very moist and flavorful. We will be back! 🥳🥰

Met the owner and her family on Christmas Eve as their server. I was so grateful how patient and kind they were during a hectic dinner shift. They blessed me with their pineapple and cinnamon cake. Flavor and texture is exceptional! I fell in love at the first bite. I'm torn between which one is my favorite! My mom shares my sentiments but loves the pineapple. It's easily the best pound cake I've ever had. I've tried different flavors, and they are all so good. Soft, moist, and flavorful without being too sweet. Cinnamon might be my favorite

Ordered a large caramel cake for my wife’s birthday and they wrapped a cute bow and put a Happy Birthday sign in the package. Great flavor and the cake lasts for several days

This has to be the tastiest, moistest cake I have ever eaten, ever! Second only to my wedding cake. I needed a cake for my husband’s birthday and I made an urgent call to the cake stores I found online based on their ratings. I made a last minute switch from the first bakery I had wanted to order from because of their poor customer service and unfriendliness. While trying to make enquiries about the cake I could hear so much impatience in the lady’s voice who sounded like she was rushing me off the line. Even though she had a flowery 5 star review when I googled l knew I could not buy from them. I respected myself and went for option B, “Jen’s Pownd Cakes”. Not only did Jen herself answer all my questions, she told me how their cakes are made and the secret to the moistness ( for me that’s the most important part of any cake) . She made the cake that same day so it would be super fresh for the next day. The nastiness of the first cake shop pushed me to discover Jen’s Pownd Cakes. It’s super delicious without being sugary, melt in your mouth softness. Just everything and more a cake should be. This was a 7 Star cake in taste and texture. Can’t wait to order another one from her soon. Will make it bigger next time.

Jen is so kind and welcoming! My first visit was great. She took a lot of time to welcome me and answer my questions.

She let me taste several flavors before I made my choice which was great. I was able to taste lemon, coffee, party, and cinnamon. Cinnamon is super delicious and was the first ever flavor. It was very very good and I understand how it’s the beginning of everything.

All the flavors were yummy and moist and super flavorful. In the end, I went with lemon and turtle.

They have rotating flavors seasonally and core flavors that are always the same. I’m looking forward to trying some spring flavors like orange, orange cranberry, key lime etc...

Branding inside is all about super hero Jen with a cute pink register and super cute menus and handouts.

So, I was attending Norfolk State University homecoming festivities and a friend was talking about this Pound Cake place. She was saying the cakes, which come in different sizes are delicious. She said they have different favors and they were moist. I decided to try it out. The store closed at 6:00 pm and I had 15 minutes to get there in the midst of evening traffic. I called and told the young lady that I was coming from NSU and my GPS told me I would arrive 3 minutes before the store closed. So, I asked her do they close the doors early and she said, no. I arrived at 6:01 and she let me in. I was shocked. She was very polite, courteous, friendly, and professional. There were some customers from Alabama who had also heard about it and walked in after me. She was the same with them. She allowed me to sample the different favors and they were absolutely delicious. I purchased six mini cakes. Oh my gosh!!! DE-licious!!! Totally scrumptious! I highly recommend "Pound Cakes by Jen." Because of dietary restrictions, I have to monitor my food intake especially sweets. However, it doesn't hurt to eat them occasionally.

WOW. I love a good cake so I was already excited about stopping into this shop. Every expectation I had was exceeded. As soon as you walk in the door Jen and her staff treat you like you are a guest in her home, trying some goodies she just baked up.

EVERY flavor is good. No joke. We bought NINE cakes. NINE. I've never had such melt in your mouth pound cake, or really any cake like this. Try the butter flavor or lemon blueberry, those were my top two, but of every flavor I tried (all of them) you can't miss no matter what you choose.

These cakes are absolutely delicious. I definitely enjoy every one.

Where do I begin. My boyfriend and I came to town from Delaware for his sisters graduation. I believe I actually found this place on tictok. My bf was so skeptical lol It was 4:30 on a Saturday and I believe the shop closed at 5 so I floored it there. I love me a good piece of cake. We arrive and are greeted by 2 lovely ladies and the woman who I believe to be Jen!
They offered samples and I tasted Butter, my bf tasted the red velvet... When I tell you my knees almost buckled!! I looked to my bf and he looked at me and I just KNEW we had to buy 6 at least!! ( We were breaking our diet to begin with!) I was literally just taken back on how Moist and delicious these cakes we're. We ate one (a piece) just sitting in the car lol!!
Long Story short... Jen Girl, you took us to Pownd Town!! We Will Be Back!!

My friend and I came here because we wanted something sweet and were blown away by how moist and richly flavored the pound cakes sold here are ! I don’t typically opt for pound cake as my dessert choice but these won’t disappoint.

I love this place! Staff is always friendly and willing to help and make recommendations. It's one of my fav bakieries, hands down. The cakes are moist and taste exactly what the flavor is...perfect! They even offer samples!! I usually get a variety of small bundt cakes, so I'm sure to get my favs & try something mew! 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

We had such a phenomenal experience. The pound cakes are amazing and there are a lot of different flavors offered. I would definitely recommend supporting this local business and the amazing human who owns it.

Surprised with this cake for my birthday, the turtle flavor was amazing! And my mom chocolate cake eating husband ate the chocolate cake and enjoyed it. Will be back to try all the flavors!

Absolutely love this place. The staff is so friendly and The cakes always fresh and moist. Last Christmas I gave all my coworkers Cakes and everyone loved them. So lucky to have this place in Norfolk area

I don't leave reviews on Google anymore, but I felt obligated after yesterday's events. I bought three cakes, and we all agreed that it was the best cake we'd ever had in our whole lives and it wasn't even close! These cakes could be sold globally! Absolutely unbelievable.

Hands down the best pound cake I have ever tasted. Moist, rich, and buttery, melt in your mouth goodness. It's definitely a must try.
