I have been visiting this practice for more than twenty years now, and today, November 28, 2017, I still honestly believe it is the finest and most reliable dermatology resource in the Tidewater area.. It has recently reached its forty-fourth successful year. It was begun by Dr. William L. Coker, who is still actively in practice, and later joined by his daughter, Dr. Leslie R. Coker, who followed in her father's footsteps to become an accomplished dermatological surgeon in her own right. I have only been treated by the father and the daughter, so I know nothing of the other members of the staff--although it should probably be noted that the Tanja Nunnold referred to in the unfortunate personalized review by Ms. Ordogne is a physician's assistant, and not a physician or surgeon.

I have never experienced myself, nor ever observed toward any other patient, any rudeness from any member of the staff in all the years that I have been a patient.

This morning I went for my annual appointment with Dr. Wiliam L. Coker, who did a full-body evaluation, froze several actinic keratoses and took a biopsy of a "suspicious lesion" on the back of my right shoulder, all essentially painlessly and all in less than one hour. [update:] This biopsy detected--and removed--what proved to have been a basal cell carcinoma. I have been followed with some care, as a number of years ago a squamous-cell carcinoma was detected by the senior Dr. Coker, and equally painlessly removed..

I would never advise ANYONE not to consult ANY dermatologist--the failure to do so cost the lives of two friends of mine, who had previously undetected melanomas.

I sincerely regret anything unfortunate that has happened in the life of Ms. Kelly Ordonge, because I do not believe that her experience has been shared by any other patient of Associates in Dermatology at any other time in the past forty-four years. My wife, who is also a long-term patient of Dr. Coker's Associates in Dermatology, finds cryosurgery (the "freezing") more uncomfortable than I do, but otherwise she has had no negative experiences in a like number of years.

I went in July of 2018 and heard the words cancer. The managing of this situation was totally professional and swift.
Went back in January 2019. Dr Coker is pro active and always ready to listen and put you at ease

I’ve had some issues with my insurance so I’m behind on my 6 month skin check by about a year. I am not a new patient as I’ve been here several times. I called to make an appointment and told there is no appointments available for 5 months , 7 months if I want to see the dermatologist.. that is just ridiculous. I even mentioned my cancer history of melanoma and still couldn’t manage to work me in. Pretty disappointed and will hopefully find somewhere that can get me in sooner.

Please DO NOT go to this medical practice! PA, Tanja Nunnold should not even be practicing medicine not to mention how impeccably rude she is. I was misdiagnosed by her over 6 months ago. The first time I went in, she wouldn't even let me speak much less ask about the itchy bumps I had on my hands and feet. My second visit, she diagnosed me with Eczema. She just smiled and said, "Yeah it's just eczema." She simply said that it'll go away within 1-2 weeks if you put this cream on twice daily.. My rashes and bumps only got worse. I saw her a third time and she continued to still say it's just eczema, put this cream on and here's another cream for the itchiness. I begged her to actually LOOK at my skin and my hands closer because there were actual black bumps and lines and it didn't look like eczema. I then find ANOTHER Dermatologist, Dr. Michael Gross and tell him that I don't think I have eczema but that's what my old Dermatologist said I have. He just got out his script pads and wrote me MORE medicines, more creams, and I got a cortisone shot. Keep in mind, it's only getting worse and I have massive red itchy bumps literally all over my body. No over the counter creams and no prescription creams helped me AT ALL. I tried telling him that I've given this to other people and it's contagious. But again, nothing. I finally came to the conclusion after my own research daily, that I have Scabies and I've infected 6 other people because of Tanja Nunnold's lack of knowledge in medicine to treat me properly and actually LOOK AT MY SKIN and know what scabies looks like. I am amazed that this is her career. The emotional stress of this is over whelming for me and others infected. Ivermectin pills cleared up most of it and the cream but WE ARE STILL NOT CURED and I've been on treatment for a month and a half now. Do Not go to this practice unless you want to be treated poorly and waste your money.

Not recommended to see Dr. William Coker. He did freeze too much area on my son's finger for a wart, and now it's all swollen up badly. What he did was from the side way onto finger instead straight down to the affected area.
