Bartram Trailhead - Hickory Knoll Rd

Well maintained trail. Moderate difficulty. Passes a pretty creek at one point. Lots of tree covering and shading. As mentioned in the earlier review, the initial incline is steep. However there is a stone staircase to make it manageable. I recommend bringing a walking stick.

Good signage, big map, ample parking, great trail!

First mile of the trail is nice and open, the rest is quite overgrown so be prepared for the occasional briar patch. Roughly 5miles up the trail you will pass the Buckeye creek trail and not much farther after that is a really cool abandoned bus (marked on the trailhead map). The last mile between buckeye and the school bus is VERY overgrown so be on the lookout for the trail markers

1st mile of this section is brutal on your calf muscles

I hiked up this recently, after walking far enough up there are a bunch of dead trees that have fallen across the trail. It seemed dangerous so I had to turn around.
