Fantastic stay.

Travel plans got massively messed up during the late August hurricane in Florida. Was able to find this place at the last minute and drove up from ATL airport during the storms.

What an amazing delight to find this spectacular cozy place deep in the mountains of NC.

The staff and owner went WAY above and beyond taking care of us. I was stranded with no where to go on our way home. (A bunch of dirty laundry as well.) These guys helped us out when we needed it the most and will not forget it.

Also super Clean, excellent value and restaurant is incredible. Bears seemed friendly.

Can’t wait to come back.

The room was spacious (there were 4 of us), bathroom was clean & spacious, but the best part was the service and the attention given to each guest by the staff. The restaurant waiters were the best I've experienced in years... Better than most 5-star places. I will return just for that pampering. Oh, and the food was very good, too.

Staff, food, and views were amazing! Their pop up Christmas bar was adorable and the oak steakhouse was amazing! Gabriella at the front desk was super welcoming and helpful. Some neg reviews say no fridge but they will bring you one if you ask :)

What a unique and special property! My daughter invited me for a special occasion because I have been wanting to visit Skyline Lodge for quite some time. The views are breathtaking. The courtyard area is perfect to sit outside and wither start your day or wind down at the end of the day. There are special areas tucked away around this proper that all visitors should explore. The manager, Ian, was very welcoming when we met him and he was everywhere every day making sure things were running seamlessly around the property. AJ and Gabriella in reception were amazing! They answered our questions, helped us get situated (coming and going) and made us feel like VIP’s every time we saw them. We are already counting down the days until we can return. Thank you for an amazing trip!

We stayed at the Skyline Lodge in early Spring for a conference. The room, facilities, and especially the staff, were all top notch. The restaurant is definitely worth a visit. The property is a very short drive to downtown where there are great shops and restaurants, and it's also close to some great hikes. Would definitely stay there again.

My husband and I stayed with our medium-size dog for four nights. This hotel is so unique. The views are incredible!! There’s nothing around the hotel, so it’s peaceful and secluded with great mountain views. However, it’s still only 10-15 minutes from town. The room was perfectly clean and the furnishings were updated in a lodge style. Every staff member was super nice and helpful. They went out of their way to make us happy. The heated floors were a luxurious touch. The balcony was huge. The bed was new and comfortable (but the mattress was firm). Some negatives: we stayed on the lower level and could hear every step above us and a dog barking down the hall. We turned the sound machine on fairly loud and wore earplugs to block this, so take this into account if you’re sensitive to noise. They treated our dog as kindly as a human and had homemade treats and a lot of pets for her daily. Also, the steakhouse was wonderful. Everything we tried was delicious and the ribeye and the venison were amazing. Again, the views alone from the terrace at the steakhouse were worth it. The whole unique experience was a great value with kind people. We will definitely be back!

Nice area and restaurant. Patio come check it out. Book ahead to ensure a place to stay. The roads are not for the faintest of heart. Just take ur time you’re not in a hurry.

We had such a nice stay here. Loved the property and super close to the downtown area. Trinity at reception was the best! Very thoughtful and helpful employee. Restaurant was good and the fire pits were fun at night. We will be back!

Wow..where to start. Location, very secluded but close to town in a beautiful setting. Rooms, small but very. very nice and comfortable with a deck and like everyone else I love the heated floor in the bathroom. The Vibe, now this is where this place really separates itself from other hotels. Its very cool and such an inviting space. It promotes getting to know other guests with all the common area's. We did and enjoyed it both nights we stayed. Very relaxing weekend. The Steakhouse is pricey but worth it. The staff at both was friendly and accommodating. I wish they could get access to the creek that runs beside it but that's just me wanting more. Seriously if your looking for a great stay that's sort of out of the box in a good way this is your place.

We took our two boys up for a quick getaway after Thanksgiving and we had the absolute best experience! The room was really cool and the staff was so caring and considerate! Just can’t say enough great things about this place. Particular shout out to Savannah at the front desk for being super helpful and nice!

Also whether you’re staying there or not Oak Steakhouse is a must!! Absolutely incredible. Can’t wait to go back!

The location was ideal—close to town and lots of hikes, but far enough from the noise to still feel in the woods. The rooms were cozy and clean, the bathroom floors were heated (!), the balcony looked over gorgeous wooded mountains, and the courtyard was a gathering place every afternoon and evening for games and enjoying the gorgeous weather. It was just idyllic. Plus, the staff were insanely friendly and helpful. We loved this place so much.

Our stay at Skyline was exceptional. Great staff that was courteous and ready to fill any need. Our room on the remodeled side of the hotel was quaint and lovely. Only thing needed was soundproofing in the ceiling of the lower floor. Loved the views, listening to the waterfall from our room along with breakfast at Butlers and dinner at the Oak Steakhouse. Just loved the open outdoor relaxed patio area and the homemade pop tart when we left sealed the deal. We will be back soon!!

It could have been a rough stay. A cold snap and several days of pouring rain is usually enough to ruin a good time. But the hotel is so comfortable and welcoming and the staff are so friendly and helpful that we made the best of it and enjoyed our stay. Soft beds, large rooms, and pleasant views certainly helped.

We were fortunate to have one afternoon of sun and had a drink on the patio before getting chased in doors by the rain. Would definitely stay here again, ideally in dryer weather.

My wife and I spent two evenings/days at Skyline this past Thanksgiving Weekend. Like all locations, Oak Steak House did not disappoint. Our room was quite comfortable --
smartly finished, and spacious. We weren't able to take full advantage of the balcony 'cause it was quite cold and breezy all weekend. The heated bathroom floor was a treat.

We found the staff there to be incredibly accommodating...all seemed to be good, nice people.

Main Street Highlands, NC just a ten minute drive away. Lots of high end shops and restaurants.

We'll be back for sure.

Really nice overall experience and would highly recommend!
Warm welcome with a 24 X 7 reception that serves all basic food.
The room was spacious and clean with nice private balcony.
Oak Steakhouse at the property was delicious food.
Highlands Main Street is just 10 min drive and so are the waterfalls - Dry Falls and Glenn Falls are a must see.
Every person on the property was super friendly and nice and did their best to make our stay a pleasant one.

We enjoyed a three night stay at Skyline Lodge. The location was great, just a short drive into downtown Highlands and to the many great hiking trails. We had a room with a balcony view of the mountains. It was very peaceful the first couple of days. They were having an outside event the required set up and breakdown the last couple of days, this did take away from the solitude some. The rooms are a nice size, the bathroom counter is small, but that was the only downside to me. The bed is comfortable but the pillows were very thin, didn’t sleep too well on them. There is an on-site coffee & pastry bar, which was very nice to have around. The Oaks Steakhouse is very good, a little loud and stuffy, but the food is amazing so we tried to overlook the atmosphere.

Was nervous about bringing our two kids under two but they were super accommodating with a Pack-N-Play. Loved the secluded location which made us feel we were away from the bustle of town (+1 over Old Edwards). Plus the attached steakhouse and coffee bar made dinner and breakfast super convenient.

Architecture and details in the room were inspiring. Ended up having to eat dinner in the bathroom since it came a little late and kids were asleep but at least floors were heated! Shower also has great shower pressure. I actually bought the same shower head for our house.

Only three things I would change: Floors are slightly thin so could hear folks upstairs pretty loudly walking around (not dissimilar from most hotels although usually at the Skyline price point you’d expect a little more noise proofing).

The thinness of the floors is felt in the hallway outside of the 100 level guest rooms. Wish it was at least padded! And lastly, wish there were some yard games maybe on the side patio (although understandable since it was 30 degrees outside).

Absolutely cannot wait to go back in the Spring/Summer to see how Skyline changes with the seasons.

We stayed 3 nights and found Skyline Lodge extremely charming especially the newly renovated interior design. It's so close to downtown Highlands, but when you are there feel miles away from everything! We met a lot of the staff and found everyone kind and helpful. They were always cheerful and made our stay such a delight! The Oak restaurant was exceptional! To date the best beef tartare we've ever had - went back for seconds! Lou and Christine are a lively duo who entertained us while we dined at the bar and enjoyed an array of delicious cocktails! We are hoping to return soon and have already been sharing our wonderful experience with anyone that will listen!

What a great experience. Great decor, cozy rooms with fireplaces. Great views. Fun activities on site. Oak steakhouse is a must try if staying. Also, the pastry chef that provides the pastries in the lobby is outstanding. The homemade pop tarts and muffins are excellent. Wonderful service.
