I was greeted and helped today by a young man in a suit, he was knowledgeable and professional, and took me right to what I was looking for. After being shown a few things I was able to find something perfect! This was my first time in the store, and I'll certainly be back. They also manufacture beautiful bones for handles!

Stopping by Old School Knife Works has become somewhat of a family tradition while driving to the Smokies. The service has always exceptional and it is clear that they take pride in their products. Blane, who is a knife-maker at Old School Knife Works, has always provided me and my dad with reliable knives and made for great conversation. Whether you’re looking for an every day carry knife, a working knife, or parts to make your own, this is your last stop! Old School’s wide selection and expertise will ensure that you find what you’re looking for.

They have the most AMAZING collection of knives and jewelry I've seen in one building to DATE! Unfortunately (or fortunately?) They're phasing out the jewelry side of their business, how that MAY be fortunate is the jewelry they have onsite is now up to 50% off. The photo that I attached is of a skull necklace I bought there. It's made of Buffalo Bone and since it was 50% off it only cost me $25 before taxes. They also have $5 knives that are okay but used. THEN they have the GOOD stuff. The vintage models that are in the hundreds of dollars. Some of the less rare items can be in the $20-$50 range. They also carry new knives in the $10-$169 range (that I saw). There may be more expensive ones because I didn't get to see everything they had to offer. If you love knives, like I love knives, you'll LOVE this store!

Amazing, BIG knife shop located in an old, stone elementary school, just like the name says. Great selection of knives—new, used, collectible, vintage—and knife-making supplies. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. I enjoyed talking with Blane, who sold me an Opinel for a very reasonable price. Enjoyed meeting Colonel the dog, too. Accidentally spent an hour there. Great place, well worth a stop.

These guys are the real deal. Helpful, honest and full of insight with a sense of humor. I will be going there for years to come. Great selection of new and used knives that they acquire from collectors. Also, they sell the world's best knife sharpener.

Good people, great selection. Any knife need is represented, fron Gerber to custom made Damascus steel blades. I went for a simple pocket knife but left with a pair of pieces of art....no, one was not enough! If you need a knife they've got it.

I just happened upon this place while on vacation today. Blane and his salesman were fantastic. I sure wish i had known about these guys before I spent $300 at a different place. I did manage to find a KaBar that is now in my pocket. I love finding a small, local business with whom to spend my money.

Had a great visit just browsing the cases. Buyer beware and hold on to your wallet! We went in looking for a knife for our son and picked up three. It was an experience as much as a store. Wish I would have gotten his name, the older gentleman was good at ‘sales’ and I mean that in a good way. He was able to figure out what my son was looking for and made quick work of the many many cases they have in the showroom. It would have been too overwhelming without him to provide some guidance and direction.

Loved shopping in a local store as opposed to online. We looked up our purchases and were surprised that they were cheaper at this shop as opposed to a big online retailer.

Love love this place. So helpful and knowledgeable. Fun experience. Can’t seem to walk out with less than 2 knives. Such good variety and unique things. This is becoming an annual venture. Thank you Blane for being fun and kind.

We go up to Franklin, NC a few times a year and every time my husband makes a point to stop at Old School Knife works. The folks there are nice, helpful and they have a great selection. Whether you want to buy a hand made knife from someone local, big name brands, something totally unique and fun or supplies to make your own, it's a great place!
