Excellent!! Not sure what the person who gave this restaurant a 1 was talking about. Great service. Friendly staff. Very good food. Nice ambiance. Definitely recommend. Looks like a family owned restaurant. Very pleased.

Great food! My chocolate chip waffles were the bomb! Price was very reasonable especially given the fact that Highlands is such a posh area.

So glad we found this place to have breakfast on our most recent visit to Highlands. We found the quality of food and preparation was better than a couple of the other more popular breakfast places that we have been to in town. There’s definitely a Mexican influence to the menu, but it’s also possible to get a “gringo“ breakfast. Fast and friendly service. I had the breakfast tacos and my wife had the veggie omelette. Both were excellent. And the coffee was good, as well.

High stars are partially due to it being an outlier for Highlands. Their simple Mexican-influenced diner fare is always good. Multiple breakfasts have all been great. Don't forget to ask for the red sauce! Looks like a family business of down-to-earth, hardworking people making a good go of it. I love the place. I go whenever I'm in town.

Excellent diner that Ron Swanson would love. No frills with good service and excellent food. The chorizo was great and the eggs exceptional. Quick and efficient. We were going to go to the higher rated place on Google across town, but they had a 45 minute wait with a herd of people standing around while they had enough open tables to seat everyone waiting. We walked the half mile to black bear and were seated, had coffee, and were nearly done with our delicious meal before we were even called to be seated at blue bike. Highly recommend trying black bear. We were in no way disappointed.

The four of us all ordered something different for breakfast: stuffed hash browns, country fries steak, breakfast burrito and a Mexican omelet. Three coffees and a chocolate milk. No flavored creamers available. Food was flavored well and no salt or pepper was needed, but shakers were on the table. Toast was thick! We would eat here again.

Omg this place was Amazing!!
My husband and I came to the Highlands for the first time for a birthday trip. We came here for breakfast after our stay at the Park on Main.
I got the avocado toast and it came with the yummiest eggs! Then I got the waffle and it was perfect! Husband got the breakfast tacos and black bean concoction and it was to die for. The coffee was one of the best we’ve ever had and it came straight from Columbia. It was so so good! Next time we come out this way, we’ll definitely be back here!!

Love all the items on this menu that our party had. Chips and tasty salsa... volcano (5 pancakes) breakfast with scrambled eggs and bacon. Pancakes were light and fluffy. Chimichanga, I chose beef, was beefy with cheese and tasty ranchero sauce. No sauces were too spicy... that's why I said tasty, each had great flavor.
.. the popeye soup was perfect for a child's meal. It had 3 finger size spinach quesadillas with the chicken soup that was filled with spinach, mixed vegies, cheese, and bread. Pic is attached... an easy way to get your vegies.
We will be back!

The service seemed a bit slow for a Saturday, but the wait was worth it. The food was wonderfully fresh and flavorful. Their chicken soup lunch special was the best chicken soup we’ve had in a long time. I plan to try a copy their recipe the next time I make it at home! I will definitely go back.

Breakfast here was perfect! The staff was so kind and the food was delicious. We had two dishes, an omelet with chorizo, a biscuit and fresh fruit and the scrambled eggs with chorizo, black beans and potatoes topped with pico and a perfect red salsa. So yummy!

Breakfast Tacos were amazing, and I definitely recommend you ask for the homemade got sauce - which is a powerful heat with great flavor. Tacos come with black bean soup, which feels odd for breakfast, but has great flavor and is refreshing against the fats in the tacos.

This place is just what Highland needed. A great breakfast place with a Mexican flavor.

A full menu with traditional American items and some with the south of the border influence.

We had breakfast tacos and eggs over medium with sausage and bacon. Both we excellent.

They are brand new and anxious to please.

We've had breakfast there twice. Both times I've had their French toast and it was awesome. I guess it is the Hawaiian bread they use? Will definitely go back for breakfast... and will try their lunch menu sometime soon.

We enjoyed a good America -Mexican breakfast. I had the egg tacos which were fresh. Peppers and onions cooked to perfection. My companion had the avocado toast with over easy eggs that were done ‘just right’. Recommend this spot.
