Top of the World Preschool

We’ve been part of the Top of the World family since June 2021. We brought our 2 year old there after a bad experience at another daycare. In July 2021, we had our second daughter, and she has been there since she was 12 weeks old. The staff and teachers have treated our girls like their own. They pay attention to the little things and do a great job remembering little requests. We’ve seen a fair share of turnover with teachers and management, but they’ve made it a priority to not let the quality of care be effected by it. There are a few faces that have been constant since the beginning - Ms LaShonda, Ms Bella, and Ms Nenita. Our girls love them! Ms LaShonda has really stepped up and has become a great leader there. Her commitment and dedication to the school and kids is evident daily. Ms Nenita is fantastic and we’ve been so pleased with our daughter’s progress in Pre-K. Ms Bella has been taking care of our 2 year old since the beginning and the continuity of care is huge. Our 2 year old loves her so much! It’s always comforting when you drop your kids off and instead of crying, they’re racing to get inside to hug the teachers. TOTWPS is affordable and they care about your children. Give them a try! 🩷

I just read the review from Alyssa! I actually have been in contact with the preschool recently as my kids went there for many years! And currently I'm friends with many of the parents! What's comical, I knew the name looked familiar! Glad you abandoned your job as I know for a fact you were not teacher material! If I was them I would have put you out on the street the first day! Sounds like WORK is not part of your vocabulary! I will always defend them as I truly know how good they are to their staff! Her review is comical! So let me get this straight, she abandoned her job ( her own words) Asks for her w2 by threatening the school! LADY give me a break! I love the response from the owner! I'm glad TOP stands up and does not let people like her get away with false posts and thinks they can slander companies when they are the ones that can't keep a job! Sounds like you are from the generation of Government GIVE ME everything and don't earn it! OHHHH that's why you are so desperate to get your W2! lol. I know for legal reasons they can't really put her in her place! WELL guess what I CAN! If you need anything TOP let me know! I still work in law enforcement!

I’ve always said I wanted my kids to grow in one daycare as long as their in child care totwp is where I would want them to be. Totwp makes my kids feel loved as much as they are at home always happy to walk into the doors sometimes without a goodbye to mommy biggest shout out to Ms Lashonda & Bella for the great communication and support, and welcoming smile at all times! This place won’t disappoint!

Two of my kids went here previously and i would recommend! Lashonda was the best person to deal with!! Super helpful and informative, and the kids loved the vibrant and positive energy she always gives off!

Being a mom of a 13 month old, it is scary to put your child in any other individuals care besides your own. I wanted to find a place where my child felt loved and was going to be stimulated to learn. The last place I had her was an in-home day care and thankfully I found out on the second visit how my child was being cared for. Since my errand was shorter than expected I went to pick up my baby girl earlier to find out she was left on a bed, crying hysterically, while the sitter was taking a shower. The other toddler was down stairs watching television. I didn't feel my child was going to be learning properly there. When I visited Top of the World Preschool, I got to meet Mr. O, the owner, and the staff. Mr. O has an amazing heart for children to learn and be stimulated perfectly for their age group. He used to be a teacher, and being a teacher myself, I related to his love and passion for students growth. He believes in the potential of each child. Later I had gone home and read some negative reviews, but I hope you do as I did and visit the preschool and meet the owner. It may not be the newest building, but it is clean and well supplied. Honestly, what matters most is the staff. Kids care more about who they are with more than anything else. We have been going there for a short while now, but my daughter is so happy. I can already tell she is learning new movements, eating better, and desires to talk (babble :) ) more now. For a preschool that offers every thing necessary for my child's development, their prices were nicely competitive.

I can't praise Top of the World Private Preschool more!
They build character in the kids and treat them like adults (no baby talk) the kids are shown where the calendar and clock is and following along during the week is just a part of life. My son doesn't show up hoping to be entertained - he is engaged the day before.
They hire teachers with experience around the world. The kids love learning about other countries and enjoy the best of each culture! They use table manners and clean up after themselves. My son's handwriting improved dramatically in about 6 weeks.
The best part is the owner "Mr O". He is a retired engineer and loves bringing advanced concepts to the kids in a way they immediately use is. The kids draw blueprints to houses and then build them. Grow their own garden and study basic engineering and medical concepts.
It's such a pleasure to see my 4 year old come home explaining to me how colors work, how the lungs breathe and why every lever needs a fulcrum. He comes home with plans to make his own toys and can explain how they work. He's 4!!! It's far from the "buy them toys and set them in front of a screen" childhood that steals development and imagination from kids.
I am so thankful that we found Top of The World Private Preschool!

My kids have gone to Top of the World for 3.5 years and they love it! Mr. O has always been amazing to me and my children! He has been a great mentor for my now 10 year old and they have done tons of science projects together wish my son has enjoyed every minute of and continues to try to think of things to take back to Mr. O for their next project or to show him the things he's learned and impress him! This is a very family oriented environment and I couldn't ask for a better place to take care of my kids while I work!

This place is truly a great place. I am so happy I got to be apart of Top of the World Preschool. In every Preschool, you are going to find parents who hate or love the places they attend their children - you seriously have to experience it for yourself, and if you do, I can guarantee you won't regret it. The staff really love what they do. You are always greeted with a smile, from every staff member. Your child is their top priority, making sure they have fun and be safe while doing so. I recommend Top of the World to anyone I come across looking for childcare. Low ratios for more one on one time with each child. If you're looking for a facility who is going to truly love your child, and actually has the time to get to know them personally rather then just be a name on a roll sheet - this is the place for you and your children.

Top of the World Pre-School has been an important part of my family for almost 10 years now. Three of my children have enjoyed the activities, learning, and fun that Top of the World provides. I have enjoyed the security, classroom structure, educational emphasis, and genuine care that they Top of the World provides. Mr. O and the staff are professional as you would expect but also wonderfully personal. The food prepared there is excellent, the activities are varied and engaging, and my kids are safe. My kids are very very happy at Top of the World Pre-School, and so am I.

I have two children at totwps and they have been going there for over two years now. The youngest one being a preemie and my son having behavioral issues. My preemie has therapist that come in once a week to work with her and they go above and beyond to give the therapist the room and time to work. I get progress everyday and they love my child like their own. Then there is the owner, Mr.O, he took the time to sit down and talk to me and come up with solutions on to better things behaviorally with my son. He talks to him throughout the day and shows him he really cares. I don't feel like this is a daycare but more of a family.

This is a long review but its worth mentioning every single thing that this amazing school has done for our child.

I was a worried mom of a 5 year old, super bright adorable boy. Before joining Top of the world school, he attended Kiddie Academy of Mckinney and after about a month he developed very bad behaviors like hitting that he had never exhibited before. Although, the owners and staff at Kiddie Academy were very knowledgeable, they were not able to handle or help my son even after they said that they would not give up on him. We decided not to return after we took one month break from kiddie. Instead we found Top of The World. And Thank God we did. I cant tell you how blessed we feel !!

Prior to enrolling at Totw we showed our concern about his bad behavior, Mr. O assured us that our son will be in good experienced hands. Here are few things I wanted to mention:
1. if your child has behavioral issues- the owner Mr. O and the Director Ms. Stephanie--handle it so well- they respect the parent and not once did they judge us for our son's acting out. Instead they empathized with when they saw my flushed face with embarrassment. All schools should follow this policy but they dont.
2. TOTW ""DO" they say and they 'MEAN' what they say. we didn't know what triggered my son's acting out but at TOTW i had several-almost everyday short meetings where we tried to figure what possibly triggered him to be upset & we would reach a workable approach- and the teacher was to apply that approach if he acted out again.
Recently we got our son evaluated if he had any medical issues and was diagnosed with Asperger/ High Functioning Autism. It is because of this school that gave me peace of mind that he will be well taken care of. Ms. Stephanie and Mr. O are such amazing people- they love what they do- its clearly visible. Our son has improved so much with zero incident. One of the solutions that we reached at was to send him only 3x a week and pick him before nap because thats what he struggled the most. Now he stays home alternate days and we are enjoying our precious son.
3.Besides the above, i like the facility, its secure to get in with an assigned key. There is always someone at the front. The food is freshly prepared by this amazing sweet person Ms. Angelina, she has food handling certification which means our kids are served food thats handled safely. My son talks about how yummy Mac & Cheese with sliced hot dogs are. In regards to extracurricular activities within the school, My son is enrolled in Amazing Athletes that incorporates multiple sports, they also have soccer shots and dance. Outdoor play ground is well set with secured gates.
I can not emphasize enough on how amazing, nurturing and reliable school this is. Mr. O definitely has chosen amazing staff who share the same goal & love what they do. I will keep updating this review as I'm sure ill have so much more to say.

My wife and I had the pleasure of being part of top of the world preschool, so we feel the responsibility to defend them with these ridiculous reviews from ex employees with no work ethics, I will say to what I know and witnessed with no false opinions, to the Hawkins family review, we actually meet Lauren and we're not impressed and I know she was not terminated just for attendance, top of the world has never forced teachers to be there sick, on the contrary they have very clear policies and procedures when it comes to sick kids and teachers , and I know for a fact all of the policies for attendance which is pretty much standard to all preschools. I wish these teachers were honest!!!!!! If you work anywhere and have attendance issues and showing up to work after doing drugs and telling other teachers you did drugs!!!! Yeah you think you will still have a job in a preschool !!!!!! Ahhh no!!!!! I'm glad top of the world management is on top of everything when it comes to teachers that are not worthy being around our kids !!!!! And to Lauren's Mom review get your stories straight and you might have to talk to your daughter about her work ethics !!!!!! Oh did I mention that several parents complained about Lauren's behavior her first week ! I'm glad Top of the worlds number one priority are the kids !!!!
It's pathetic that finally a school that is there for our kids, gets all this negative reviews from ex employees that take no ownership in their poor work ethics !!!!!
And to finalize this I saw on their page Ms. Nenita just celebrated 7 years at top of the world !!!! To all parents go talk to her and see what she says about Top of the world ! I guarantee her work ethics are exactly what we need for our kids !

And to Ms. Lauren they did not fire you we the parents did !!!!!

My two children go to Top of The World and I love it. They are nice and it’s clean. They are wonderful with my kid’s I feel at ease when my children are there. I can call any time and they take the time out to go see how my kids are doing and let me know. I LOVE all of the people up there and they do so much with the kids. And do so much for the kids. Mr.O is a loving person who has put his heart and soul in to this place and you can tell. They are amazing there. Couldn’t ask for more in a place..

My daughter was enrolled here for years due to my wife and I both starting careers. I cant thank them enough or possibly show my appreciation for what they do. They truly care about our most valuable possessions and will always be considered as part of our family! God Bless You Guys!!

Horrible!!!!!!!! Children are always sick and they never send those kids home. They hardly ever call those parents to let them know their kids are sick. They are always sending kids from one room to another. Even when there is an obvious age difference. The furniture is HORRIBLE! The cribs in the baby rooms are drop down cribs!!!!!!!!! If I'm not mistaken drop down cribs have been banned for awhile. The walls look disgusting and toys look so outdated! If you want your kid in a good preschool/ daycare DO NOT SEND THEM TO TOP OF THE WORLD PRESCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This place might be alright for your kids, but AVOID WORKING HERE AT ALL COSTS. And I'm quite sure the response to this review is going to be very back handed, passive aggressive, and denying any responsibility on their part as you can see has been the response in the past to the lower ranked reviews. My experience working here was not good. You get little pay and little support for the amount of work you do and they expect you to be a superhero on 12/hr. With the rising costs of rent, food, etc. it's a bit ridiculous. Beyond that, the way they talk to both current and past employees is one of the most unprofessional ways I've ever seen an establishment like this respond. I have recently been trying to get ahold of my W2 and they threatened me with police saying I was making threats despite ZERO threats being made. When I did work here, they made me very uncomfortable, put me on the spot, I became upset and they asked me what I "wanted to do." I was honest and said I wanted to go home for the day. They then told me I couldn't be on the property anymore as I was "abandoning my job" (I wasn't planning on quitting at that moment, I just wanted to go home as I didn't think I could handle 2 year olds while crying/upset) and I had to walk for a while to a Starbucks so I could wait to be picked up as I was not expecting to have to leave work at that time. But honestly, it was a blessing, because as I said, there was little pay and virtually no support. They tell you "ask for help any time you need it!" And then you ask for help and they tell you oh no, you can handle this. Well I'm telling you I'm overwhelmed, so no, I can't handle this by myself at this moment. Humans are support and community based creatures. It seems that this PRESCHOOL has forgotten that completely. Honestly sounds like they could use a rehaul of whoever manages this place. Just please don't work here, you will regret it completely. I know I do.

Edit: their response is exactly what I'm talking about. Backhanded, condescending, completely dodging accountability... All wrapped up to make it look like they're being "polite." Again, zero threats were EVER made. Unprofessional and ridiculous as hell. Also I don't have a husband and have never contacted them on the phone for this matter so who is really being inconsistent in their story here?
