The Cranberry, Ascend Hotel Collection

First and foremost I want to mention the excellent customer service I received from Alyssa, who helped me with several special requests efficiently and with a cheery attitude. The hotel is very clean, comfortable, and modern with a simple European look. The rooms are spacious, particularly the suites which are not much more money. I don't know if they are 100% ADA, but you can easily maneuver a wheelchair in a suite. I particularly liked the shower controls located opposite the shower head so you can adjust the water without getting wet. Showers are the doorless type with a very low step-over which again may be useful for the mobility impaired. The bathroom has a barn-style sliding door which is a bit heavy and may not be to everyone's taste. Many in-room amenities like a coffee maker and microwave. I particularly liked the illuminated refrigerator with a glass door so you can see if you left anything in there. Definitely worth the reasonable rates.

Stayed here on our way to DC. A quaint hotel and the rooms were clean and huge. The service and staff were decent. It was next to interstate but didn’t hear the noise of the traffic at all. A convenient place while for travelers.

This is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed with. The rooms are beautiful and I appreciate the layout and service. Room cleaning was wonderful and the food was yummy. My only suggestion is having breakfast available at 6am. Other than that, I will definitely stay here again if I am passing by.

Wow this hotel is really nice. You can tell it is new - the rooms are modern and spacious with high ceilings. It is very quiet - there was a band playing at the restaurant next door and lots of kids about and we couldn't hear a thing. The staff were amazing too, they were so kind and helpful. There is a bar in the lobby that was open until 10:30 pm (we stayed on a Saturday night) and breakfast for $5 in the morning. There is a restaurant right next door as well. Very close to Coopers Rock!

I absolutely loved this hotel! It was incredibly clean and every single staff member (even custodial staff!) were friendly and had a warm smile. The beds were not beds, but rather clouds that gently carried you into dream land. As we left, the owner was watering the flowers and personally thanked us for our stay. I recall seeing him helping out kitchen staff during breakfast too. Such a humble gentleman. You can absolutely tell that this hotel has a lot of love put into it. Will absolutely be back!

Beautiful hotel. Very clean and spacious. Bed was a little firm for my taste but not awful. Loved the walk in shower. It was a bit loud forst night due to music at restaurant next door but ended about 1130pm. We were on the restaurant side of hotel so highway noise was not an issue. Breakfast was good. Staff friendly. Would stay again for sure.

Awesome place. I love the restaurant that is located next to it. The rooms and bathroom was clean and spacious. The customer service was spectacular and the lady that made the breakfast for the occupants was a breath of fresh air. Housekeepers we're very attentive and friendly.

I am by far one if the pickiest people you will ever meet when it comes to staying anywhere, especially in a hotel. I have ocd and I’m a germaphobe and this hotel by far checked all of the boxes. Friendly staff, quiet room, the beds and pillows were extremely comfortable, the hotel and rooms were CLEAN, and very spacious for a couple and three toddlers. The breakfast was phenomenal and for only $5 per person (and kids under a certain age were free which was awesome). There is a bar next door for something to do if you wanted, and other hotels around so you don’t feel unsafe. Appreciate the comfortable stay Cranberry! We will be back!

This may very well be my favorite hotel ever [and I have stayed in many]. From the minute you are greeted as you walk through the door, you know you chose right !! Inviting, yet modern. So very clean. Check-in went smooth, room keys actually worked, and then you are greeted with the large, open, clean, slightly lemon scented [maybe their polish ??] smell of your room. Wow... was my first impression. Huge rooms with the highest hotel ceilings I have ever seen. It feels so spacious !!! Vacuum lines on the carpet, which was nice enough that I took my shoes off. Clean, white linens on the super comfy, pillow top Simmons Beauty rest beds. The bathrooms are very spa like, with lots of fluffy towels. Very nice. So clean.
Yes, I could hear the highway outside. Most hotels are off a highway, so to ME, that seems expected ?? And, to be honest, my husband snores louder, and I put ear plugs in to sleep near him anyway, so I guess they could have them in the rooms like their complementary toiletries and coffee for their guests to use if they wanted them, less complaints. Not everyone thinks to pack those. But to me, the hotel quality trumps the noise, and I would stay here regardless. As a matter of fact, I will probably stay here EVERY time we are near.

** Also, try the restaurant in the lot. Tropics. It was simply AMAZING as well.

My sister and I drove cross country and stayed at so many hotels and when I tell you.... this was the BEST hotel experience we had! We met the owner who is so humble, kind, and genuinely cares about the guest experience by the way he designed the hotel.

The rooms: Beautiful! Modern but homey, very classy taste. The carpets are PLUSH. The bed is so supportive but soft. The walk-in shower has a mixer that is placed in a way where you can adjust the temperature prior to stepping in without burning or chilling yourself. private toilet room.

Breakfast: The upcharge for the breakfast tickets are well worth it! The owner actually prepares breakfast himself, he makes delicious waffles, thick cut bacon, real eggs (not hotel bagged eggs), fresh fruit and pastries. SO GOOD!

We plan to return to the area just to go bake to the hotel!

This was an amazing experience. After driving 6 hours with 2 dogs and a 1 year old it was convenient to walk across the parking lot to have a nice meal and a glass of wine. The rooms were extremely plush and cozy. It's conveniently right off the highway and the staff is top notch.

This hotel is absolutely lovely. The rooms are extremely clean and the design is sleek and modern, but still warm and inviting. The attention to detail is what takes it from great to excellent—even the elevator looked freshly dusted! The staff was professional, knowledgeable, and very welcoming. Bathroom was sparkling, bed was so comfy, our room even has a little balcony where we can sit and enjoy our morning coffee. I hope to stay here again!

Our hotel stay was outstanding. The room with the balcony was refreshing. Large comfortable pillow top mattress with hugging pillows. Clean and constant air freshing smell throughout the entire hotel. Breakfast was convenient for only $5.00.
We will return soon.. Great restaurant "Tropics" right in the same parking lot. Many great state parks with awesome views in the area. A must see.

Scott the owner is ever present to make sure your stay is comfortable and that you can easily navigate the town. His staff are welcoming and lovely people. The hotel is clean and has a nice transitional style including both modern and traditional. The beds are comfortable and the towels are amazing! We will definitely stay here again.

We split the difference in our drive from Huntington, WV to Martinsburg, WV. We stayed here and it was the BEST hotel! We’ve stayed in lots of different places over the years because our son plays traveling baseball. The staff were so nice and the room itself is incredible. The mattress was comfy and the pillows were too. I definitely recommend!

Had a wonderful stay at The Cranberry Hotel. It is super clean and the staff is wonderful. Reasonably priced and convenient to the interstate and other area amenities. The hotel has its own bar area, but Tropics, is a full restaurant and bar that is located just across a small parking area (literally 20 feet).
