Compass Montessori School

I absolutely love this school. Our three grandchildren have all attended Compass Montessori. Our youngest grandson is attending currently and is always happy about going to school everyday. He really enjoys music, cooking class, learning his numbers and helping the younger and new students at the school. The staff is the BEST they always greet every student with a welcoming smile. I would highly recommend Compass Montessori to everyone.

Our daughter just finished her first year (preschool) at Compass Montessori and we are amazed at her growth and so pleased with each teacher there! We love and chose the Montessori method because she has the freedom to choose which activities she’d like to work on for the day. At the same time, the teachers are able to hone in on what she needs help with and guide/teach her in those areas. They are attentive and loving to each child, treat them as individuals and for this we are grateful!

The school is very organized and clean under the management of Mina Evers (school owner/director) she has high expectation for the teachers, and she loves the school and children. Everyday Mina is in school to greet parents and students. My daughter started this school at very young age (2.5) because I truly believes in Montessori education. After visiting all pre school in Brownspoint area, I chose Compass among other Montessori schools. My daughters loves the school, the teachers and her friends. She is happy and she is leaning. That is most important for me.

My daughter has attended compass for two years now. We are very pleased with her progress. Mrs. Evers is very attentive to all of my daughter’s needs. The staff knows how to encourage and continue to challenge my daughter. She always looks forward to going to school and asks to go to school even on Saturday.
The school is very clean as well. It does not look chaotic at all. I like how they post pictures and videos on their Facebook page during the day, that lets us see how she is doing.

We LOVE this school. Each of my children started at 2.5 years old. My oldest is at the beginning of her kindergarten year and learning to read (is EXCITED about reading), doing addition and multiplication tables (correctly!), writing her name legibly (and interested in improving her writing), and absorbing the weekly manners and courtesy lessons! My youngest - after just over a year at Compass - already phonetically recognizes most of the alphabet, has the proper pencil grip and is tracing lines, cuts with scissors and knives safely, and LOVES school.

All of this is possible because Mrs. Evers is passionate about her work. She hires teachers that believe in Montessori and support her philosophy. When I first toured the school, I was impressed by how calm the classroom of ~20 children was. The classrooms were CLEAN and ORGANIZED. They are still clean and organized!! Themes change monthly. Weekly there is a cooking project, music class, Spanish (2x)!!

Everyday pictures are posted to facebook of the classrooms in action. About once a week we get a text telling a story from our child's day or about their progress. We love this school!

After combing through the entire city for Montessori’s & Christian Preschools all ... this is the one we picked for our kids and know we picked the best in terms of Quality of attention & education for our twins with completely different personalities ! Ms Evers & her team of Dedicated multicultural teachers are Exceptional ! Exactly what we wanted in terms of education for our kids ! Highly recommend !
