Bay Local Eatery

Went to Bay Local to celebrate birthdays and it was a great experience. We had a large party so the projected wait was an hour but it actually was much less. The wait staff is very knowledgeable about the menu and suggestions were perfect. I ordered the OG margarita and added sorbet 10/10 along with the club sandwich on white bread and fruit. Due to my shellfish allergy I couldn’t order anything fried but I was still satisfied with my choices!

We got the suggestion to try Bay Local Eatery when we first got to VA Beach. We ended up going the last day of our visit to kill some time before our flight home. I’m glad we saved it for the last day. The food was awesome and service was great. Between the three of us, we ordered sorbet mimosas, Mac and cheese, grits, crab balls, chicken wings, French toast bites, 2 waffles with pecans and icing, bourbon French toast, and fresh-squeezed orange juice! All so yummy! Whoever was in charge of decor put some serious though into it. The bathrooms and dining room were very clean also. It seems to fill up quickly. There were plenty of seats when we arrived before noon but when we left, there was a wait. Worth the wait if there is one!

Food: delicious meals. The po’ boy wrap was absolutely delicious with the fried oysters which is their most popular filling. The aioli matched the wrap well and cut down the oil from the fried oysters. The cold-smoked salmon Benedict was good also with the hollandais sauce balanced and the Parmesan garlic tots to die for. Lastly, the key lime pie was on the upper scale of the better slices that we have had.

Service: the service crew was really friendly, and was always at the table at the right time we needed anything.

Atmosphere: we sat outside for brunch and it was a nice change. Inside was a little loud and could be busy, but outside had a nice breeze and the planters made it more secluded. Overall a nicely decorated place with nice beach-vibes.

Absolutely amazing service, Tuesday at 11:30am the place was full but no wait. Gluten free menu. Very customizable menu. Great drink specials (almost half off select drinks of the day). It’s in a strip mall but don’t judge by the cover. Got the crabcakes benni, lighthouse omelette, parm garlic tots, grits and fried biscuit. The crabcakes are phenomenal, tots have changed the game, fried biscuit is a heavenly donut and the grits are a cheesy delight. I will be back.

Bay Local Eatery is hands down one of the best restaurants in Virginia Beach! If you're looking for a local establish that dishes out consistency whenever you go out, look no further. Their menus hold up against the test of time and can be seen by example of their faded font. For me: it's "da club" or the "big country" that will do it for me.

Da Club is a GIANT club sandwhich with smoked turkey, VA ham, Applewood smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, Swiss and cheddar cheese with mayo and a spicy ground mustard. *my mouths watering just doing this write up!* The Big Country is a fried chicken breast, bacon, 2 eggs any style, and cheddar cheese on a buttermilk biscuit- served with a side of sausage gravy and your choice of tots or home fries. *please see attached picture*

In closing, bay local's relaxed vibes paired with their friendly attitude and delicious meals sounds like they are going to keep the locals happy for some time. Thanks for taking the time to read my review and have a great day! 👋🏻

Love this brunch spot when in Virginia Beach! The food is so seasoned and the drinks are very good. I’ve had 50% of the menu with no complaints!

Ate here sun morning, blueberry waffles, pork sausages, garlic parma tots, country fried chicken, biscuit, and gravy are delicious. The fresh orange juice is amazing.

Came around 11 am, had to wait for an hour, but it was worth it plus there’s comfortable couches/chairs to sit while you wait. The atmosphere is nice, parking is easy, do try this place!

We stopped at this place prior to one of my events and became an instant fan! The crab cake sandwich was excellent and I’m not a big fan of shrimp and grits but they made theirs to perfection and I would definitely order them again! The service was fast and great

Great service and fantastic food. The shrimp and grits were full of flavor, and they did not skimp on the shrimp. My bloody mary was a meal in itself so Get ready to spend all your calories here, but it will be worth it.

The breakfast here was amazing. First and foremost the fresh squeeze oj I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I had the chicken and waffles with parmesan tater tots to die for! The syrup they provide is amazing I usually have to bring my own. My mom's biscuit was beyond her expectations! Melt in your mouth. The chicken Cesar wrap was so fresh and the sauce for it reminded my bf of his mother's sauce. My bf told me the bathroom was so clean and spacious. I have 0 complaints! The only issue is now I can't have breakfast anywhere else because nothing comes close to this place. I'm in south Carolina right now and their food is making me sick. I'm ready to come back to this restaurant!

This is one of my favorite breakfast spots in Virginia Beach! The menu is insane. I’ve had a variety of things and am never disappointed. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, service is fantastic. You will not regret visiting this place!

I got the banging balls appetizer the chicken and French toast and a carmel coconut iced latte everything was perfectly seasoned service is amazing and it's the perfect atmosphere for relaxing

Amazing portion sizes and great prices! So many breakfast options to try. The shrimp and grits was amazing would recommend to anyone wanting breakfast in Virginia beach, I see why they’ve opened across VB

Their brunch is excellent!! Not a fan of the establishment charging a mandatory 18% tip included on the bill for everyone. Why not just pay your servers better? I like to leave a cash tip everytime I dine out. Couldn't do that here. I generally leave 20% for a tip and felt awkward handing the waitress a few bucks more. You also don't get to see your bill beforehand and their handheld machines are calculating the tip AFTER the 11% tax. Ugh. Again, the food is delicious but disappointed in their tip policy.

The staff is amazing and friendly, the atmosphere is just right and the food is totally worth writing home about! We had the French toast bites to share and the stuffed biscuits and gravy were sublime! You’ll love it here!

The best brunch place in the area. Lots of parking out front. Short wait and lots of seating. Mimosa was amazing. I recommend any of the inlets. The One Love was a great portion of food. The Kitchen Sink was a good portion as well. Amazing service. I definitely recommended eating here.

I love there Just Right Shrimp and grits with added scallops, and the the sorbet mimosas to wash it down. My beautiful cousins enjoyed the chicken and waffle and shrimp po boy. Everything was great the atmosphere was amazing and the staff and waitress was so friendly and fun. 10 out of 10 for brunch.

As you can tell from the pictures we starting eating before I remembered to take a picture. The tatcos (tater tot nachos) are a must have and we probably could have just got that and been full. We ordered the chicken Bennie and crab cake Bennie and loved them both. The drinks were and American mule and a bay mosa and they were both well made and delicious.

Was an amazing atmosphere with great and varied food choices. All very delicious. Accommodated my request for boiled eggs(although they were brought to the table UN-peeled). Overall, a great experiu that makes me want to return in order try other menu options....and SOON.
