What a place!! One of the best Indian foods I’ve ever eaten in my life! Definitely recommended, atmosphere’s great, service is excellent, super tasty food and 100% original. Place is super clean, and has a good location. Do visit here! They give you entree also with your order.

Amazing selection and very friendly staff, this is a must for Indian food fans. Everything was seasoned perfectly and the quality of ingredients was very evident. I had the triple pepper tangine chicken. Very hot (which I love) but tons of flavor. Very reasonable prices for such high quality offerings. Hats off to the chef and staff.

I was looking for Indian food in the Melbourne area and came across Taste of India. When I got there around 6:30-6:45, several tables were occupied, but I was seated right away. The restaurant is nice and quiet, with Indian music videos playing in the background.

I was presented with a menu and instantly overwhelmed; there were so many good options. Because of this, I suggest coming with friends and family, getting a whole bunch of items, and splitting them.

The server had a ton of patience as it took me a while to figure out what I wanted and made some great recommendations.

To start, you are given papadam, and there are three containers of toppings, including mint chutney, tamarind sauce, and some tomatoes.

I ordered two main entrees. I started with Chicken Kondapur, a spicy dish with creamy gravy and tender chicken. The dish came out super hot, and I nearly burned my mouth, but it was worth it. I paired it with garlic naan, which was light, crispy, and perfect for mopping up the chicken and gravy.

Although this was more than enough food, I still wanted to try something else, so I got Chicken Madras. This dish is similar to the other, a creamy chicken dish with different spices and less spiciness. Both were outstanding, and I don't think this place misses.

All of the staff were extremely friendly and attentive.

I highly recommend it if you like Indian food and are in the Melbourne area.

Taste of India, 606 N. Wickham Rd., Melbourne, FL 32935

4.5 Stars

I thought two things when the name Taste of India popped up on my random name generator. First, oh joy, I’m going OTB today and the second was, this has to be a chain. Do you know how many towns and cities in this country have a Taste of India restaurant? I assure you, it’s a lot. Alas, I couldn’t find hide nor hair of a corporate entity online. If you do, please let me know.

This location in Melbourne has been here since 2002, so they must be doing something right. Upon entering, I was seated and handed a menu while told my server would be with me shortly. It’s standard so far. John soon approached and introduced himself as our waiter for the meal. John was easily the WORST waitstaff person I have ever encountered in my 57 years. We were the first customers in the joint and this oxygen thief’s only table. This is a perfect example of why I don’t consider service when rating a place. Outstanding quality, execution and flavors are to be found here, but the service from John is so maddening. I finally got up and asked the owner if John was his brother-in-law or some other relation. He got visibly upset with me and asked why I thought that. I replied, “Why else would you hire someone so incompetent?” The funny thing about this exchange is that John was standing right there and had to have heard what I said, but he just stood there with a vacant look. It was all I could do to keep my inner comiconomenclaturist in check when addressing John, as the names were writing themselves in my head.

Why am I harping on poor John, you ask? I put in an order for five dishes along with tea and soda for me and my companion. After 20 minutes, John returned with the food. Well, some of it. I asked him when the other dishes were coming, and he said, “What other dishes?” I’ll let that sink in a second. Ole Lunkhead forgot to write down three of our orders, so we only got two out of the five entrees ordered. At least we got our drinks...

The entrees we did receive (Chicken Saag and Tandoori Chicken) were spectacularly executed and brimming with complex flavor combinations found only in cuisine from the Indian sub-continent. The Chicken Saag had a delicate balance between spice and cream, with fresh spinach holding them in check. The chicken was tender, juicy and perfectly cooked.

The Tandoori Chicken had to be some of the best I have yet had. This dish gained worldwide fame after being popularized by the Moti Bahal restaurant in New Delhi in the late 1940s. The chicken is marinated in yogurt and spices and then cooked in a tandoor, a cylindrical clay oven. Whoever was operating the tandoor today certainly knew what they were doing as, again, this was some of the best I have ever had. The chicken was superbly tender and flavorful, while the accompanying veggies were steamed to a delightful al dente. I also found the accompanying naan to be warm, delicious and superb on the palate.
While John garnered a zero tip as he forgot three dishes we ordered.

The Big Boy says, “If you got the Jones for some Indian grub, go to Taste of India in Melbourne; just avoid John’s section.”

Food was above average if not amazing .
There was this server (don't know his name , he was a bald man) who was very knowledgeable about the menu and customized the order per our taste and preference.

Amazing food and service. Our waitress and the team was so sweet and attentive. Everything is absolutely delicious and the restaurant is clean, smells so good, and the food is fresh. I also did not feel out of place like some places have made me feel. I was very welcomed. I will definitely be back! I think this one is the best in Brevard.

My new go-to Indian restaurant! Everything was excellent during tonight’s dinner. Orders were taken right away and food was served in no time. I totally recommend the Kadai Chicken, Vindaloo, and Veggie Xacutti. Also, don’t forget the Naan - Garlic Naan is a must and Mango Lassi! The server was nice and attentive - constantly refills water and checks on your table. Will be back for sure!

I’ve probably been here four times now and it’s been great every time.
My wife and I always get different curries, which means I’ve probably had upwards of 8 different ones and enjoyed every one.
The garlic nan bread is especially good and everyone should try it.

Also, the service is notably quick and the servers all seem nice.

My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at Taste of India last night, and I must say it was an absolutely delightful experience. The food was beyond amazing; each dish was a burst of incredible flavors that left us thoroughly impressed. We're definitely looking forward to going back for more culinary delights. The service was equally outstanding, making our evening truly enjoyable. Highly recommend!

I've always wanted to come here. The service was exceptional and the food was amazing! It didn't look like a lot... until you started eating and realized you barely made a dent. I don't know how they make the simple looking rice so flavorful but even that as delicious. I normally avoid rice since it's so bland but not this. I don't usually eat leftovers but the Butter Chicken and Chicken Curry were just as good the next day, too. I can't wait to try so much more on their menu. Lovely little gem!

OMG the best place to enjoy the Indian. The service was awesome. The food was excellent with great flavor. If I had one complaint was the food portion size. Rice should been more. The server was so very sweet and soft spoken, he was very quick with the service and sweet to my grand baby he would actually play peekaboo with her. Our drinks never got low ever he kept them full at all times. All the staff were very friendly, very nice and very prompt and their services were great. This place is a definitely 10 out of 10 for me. Yes we’ll be back

Hands down best Indian food. Amazing flavor fresh ingredients. I have nevrr had a bad meal at this restaurant. The owners/staff are amazing and willingly able to answer any questions. Extremely professional, kind and treat you like family. The atmosphere is upbeat. It dark but very warm, welcoming and inviting. Everything is made to order and they are always busy so be prepared to wait. From the moment you walk in until you leave it is an amazing foodie experience.

I'm not a great judge of Indian cuisine, but I get the sense that these folks have resisted the temptation to cater to American tastes and instead cook authentic, OG Indian recipes. It seems the place is always packed, so they must be doing something right. I liked it both times I went. Good service by good people.

I was a little hesitant to try this place as I can’t do spicy and when I think of India food I think spicy. I was pleasantly surprised that they had many dishes that were not spicy. Everything I ate was amazingly delicious. Service was excellent! I will definitely be back.

I went here with my daughter and I must say this is the best customer service I have even gotten at a restaurant. The server was so attentive and calm. The atmosphere was so relaxing and the food was fantastic. It was our first time having Indian food so I asked the server what he recommended. He was so patient with us. The serving size is large so we had to take home some. I definitely will be visiting here again.

Family dinner. The wait was short because we went about an hour after opening for dinner.
The chips and chutney before dinner were lite and tasty , not just one type of dip but three different taste to preview the main course.
We had tandoori chicken which I thought was not as flavorful as I like but still taste good, the outside was crispy and the inside nice and juicy.
We had Phaal shrimp which we all thought was the best tasting with just enough pepper and spices, I mean really delicious.
Xacutti mutton was just as delicious with spices and pepper, with the rice (comes with the meal) or Garlic Naan for extra it was a taste buds frenzy in my mouth.
This is a place you will overeat, I definitely did and I took the left over home and indulge once more because the portions were large and easy to feed two adults.
Lastly we topped it off with Rasmalai which was not too sweet but just correctly sweetened to let you scrape the last drop.
Overall it was an amazing evening of delicious foods with good service and very nice setting, this is a restaurant that we will revisit and enjoy some good Taste of India. Price was around $20 per meal. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

Since we moved to Vero Beach, we were looking for a good Indian place. After northern VA, Vero is lacking anything Indian. Upon recommendation from foodies, we went for a lunch. Good things - food is great, service impeccable, menu selection broad and rich. Great place for vegans and vegetarian food lovers. Servings are on a large size- so be hungry or take food home. Pricing is on higher side, it is not a budget stuff yourself for a short money place. You pay for service and quality, but it is worthy! One small nitpick-if the staff was masked I would feel much more comfortable. Strongly recommended, and we will be back.
