Sweet escape right off of 52. I wasn't sure how to get in the woods from the gravel road, so I just followed some vehicle tracks and ultimately came upon trail markers. Lush trails. Cool to see the pilots in the air.

There is a lot of diversity in the park. The trails are kept so so but if you trust and keep trekking, you will see of Florida's amazing things. As always bring sunscreen (I do pack an umbrella, not too proud to admit that!). Good place.

Great hike, unfortunatly does get flooded in some parts and I had to go through a mile of swamp. Yes this was part of the trail.

My husband and I took a 1.5 hour hike through beautiful grasslands and marsh. We saw 2 armadillos, a raccoon and several bird species. There were additional hikes through woodlands,but we'll save that for another day.

My son and out friends had a hot time walking about the grounds checking out the various wildlife. It is a far cry different from Omaha NE and we made certain to stay out of the water.
