Hurricane Mo's Beachside Bar And Grill

First time customer and everything was great. Had oysters “Mo”(their rendition of oysters rock) which were very delicious as well as a bowl of “she crab soup” (extremely flavorful and creamy with a hint of heat…yum). As a main course I had the fried seafood platter. Never was a fan of fried oysters but I found these very tasty along with the house tartar sauce.

Our waiter was great and attentive. We tried the She Crab soup. It was very delicious with a lot of crab meat. I tried the pasta with Shrimp and Scallops. It had plenty of seafood in it and had a very good taste. I would definitely get it again.
My mom had the pan seared scallops and loved them.
My uncle tried the seafood platter and said it was delicious.
We are going to try and go back for the happy hour menu.

Hurricane Mo’s is the place to go any day of the week. Be warned- everyone knows this! Happy Hour starts at 3 and ends at 5 pm. During this time, shrimp is $.25, wings are $.50 and tacos are just $1.00. A daily drink special is available as well. If you do not get there early, expect a wait - a wait such as an hour… if you are fortunate to hit MO’s at just the right time, you will likely be pleased with the speed of service, accuracy of orders, and food delivered. Waiting may be worth it! Staff is very pleasant and efficient. Unfortunately, being so popular, the noise level is too much. It was difficult to have a conversation without hearing neighboring tables yell their own conversations because of the high volume of noise. Sitting outside may not have this issue. Atmosphere would be better if less crowded and packed into the small area. Definitely recommend!

Had a great lunch with great service! We had a soft shell crab sandwich special, garden salad with seared fresh tuna, and the she crab soup. Excellent fries! Got seated right away (12 noon) before the tourists showed up. They have an ocean view bar upstairs, it was getting setup while we were there. Nice atmosphere and great Mo swag in tie dye colors. Enjoy!

Such a cool place to take a minute out of the heat and grab a bite to eat. Food was fresh and tasty. Server was quick and friendly. Drinks were always full. Worth stopping in to try.

Food was excellent! Highly recommended the crab dip.Quick, friendly service. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

We ordered take out. Are huge. Order was correct. We didn't have any problems or corrections to make. Everything was great. We went 2 different times and in total ordered ordered the pickles, the wings, the crab soup, quesadilla and the pan seared seafood platter. Kim, the manager, got all the sauces right the 1st time as well. It was extremely crowded every time we went there so make sure that you call ahead and give them plenty of time to make your order just in case For both our orders it only took about 15 to 25 minutes as they promised. Kids and adults welcomed, bar seating and saw they have availability for large parties. AWESOME JOB guys. You won't be disappointed. They really do have EXCELLENT FOOD!!!!

Excellent food and service. Best meal we had on our vacation. Happy hour is hard to beat for shrimp and wings

One of my favorite places to visit when I'm in the OBX. The Cat 5 bar is the best!! The food, drinks and staff are phenomenal.

I loved the atmosphere of this place with the tiki bar style decor and the floor to ceiling murals. The food was excellent! Happy hour tacos were bigger than expected and delicious with the added advantage of being cheap lol! Devon, our server was amazing and she was on point from beginning to end and had a really upbeat attitude. I had the pasta Primavera and it was very flavorful and my wife had the island grilled chicken. Will definitely be back to this place as their desserts sounded delicious but I was too full to get that far.

We went for the happy hour (3 - 6 pm) and had the $1 hard tacos. Everything was delicious. The staff was very friendly.

The pan seared seafood platter is so tasty! The crab cakes are hand shaped and cooked. Delicious! The coconut sticky rice is so good, you'll want to get a side to take home for dessert! Like fried okra? It was super tasty as well!

My bf who doesn't like any seafood always get a cheeseburger. This is the first restaurant of 6 that he spoke highly of the cheeseburger. He said it was not dry, and had a good flavor.

I WILL have to go back before I leave vacation! Highly recommend!

We arrived later after a day of travel and were trying to find somewhere local. Many of the restaurants in Kitty Hawk were not open but then I found Hurricane Mo's. They didn't disappoint! They were quiet when we arrived but more arrived later. Our service was very good (thank you Carolyn) and the food was great!

Overall a great casual dining place. My steamed shrimp were a little over cooked and hard to peel however everyone else’s food was delicious and we would definitely go back. Unique decor, friendly atmosphere.

Great dinner experience! We got there close to 6pm and didn't have to wait long for a party of 5. My husband devoured his she crab soup. I haven't had calamari this delicious in a very long time. The blackened crab cakes were the perfect breadcrumb to crab ratio, the fried okra wasn't a greasy mess, and the sticky coconut rice is divine! I highly recommend the spicy sauce that came with the crab cake meal. My kids enjoyed their pizzas as well and left with happy stomachs. Thanks to the staff for being so kind and wonderful. I hope to return some day!

Great service with really good food! Enjoyed taking my family here. Our server (Devon) was awesome!!! Stop here and eat if you’re visiting the OBX!!!

We went for Happy Hour 3-5 and man what a spread!!! .20 shrimp, .40 wings (naked or spicy( $1 Hard tacos or $2 soft) everything was soo good!! Wait staff was awesome, there was a bit of a wait but we had 11 people so we figured it would be. Can't wait to go back!!!

Tasty seafood eatery a block from the beach which was getting busy for lunch. It was a chilly Monday a little too cool for eating outside. The shrimp nachos on special and jumbo shrimp were both good. Service was good as well.

The one man band rocked!! Our family had the best time jamming out to him. We went after 6pm (happy hour) and we easily found seats for 3 people and quickly found a nook for our party of 8. Food and drinks were okay- like typical dive bar flavors. But yummy. Would def return!
