Great shop for local authors, buy a book read a free before posted title, and so many more merch finds! A nice retreat away from the bustle of the shops! Good prices and nice collection of books, magazines, and novelty book items!

The owner was running the store and she was very helpful. Got the books I was looking for immediately and was very friendly. She shared alot of information with us about the area. Will definitely go there again if I need books

The store manager went out of her way to actually walk over the section of books I was inquiring about. She then read every book on the shelves to see if one book matched my criteria. That was extremely nice.

Amazing and wonderful experience. The staff was helpful and kind even despite some struggle on my end due to impaired eyesight because even without mention one person led me straight to the shelf I needed! I’d like to thank them for their helpfulness and will definitely be returning in the future! The selection was amazing and pricing was typical of bookstores and I couldn’t have been more eager to support a local bookstore!

Fantastic selection for all ages. My 3rd and 4th graders found a lot of options for themselves as did I. They even have a young adult section with all the latest releases. You can tell the owner has their pulse on what their customers want as each section is carefully curated to hold fantastic options for both adult and kids. Can’t say enough good things!

My daughter and I walked up to Island Bookstore and we really liked it. It was hard to just pick one book, I saw many that I was interested in, and so did my daughter. A lot of different subject areas to choose from, current events, history, kids, music, etc. They also had a small magazine selection, but there were some very cool magazines that I had never heard of that I was interested in. I didn't get to talk to the staff very much because they were dealing with some needier customers, but they seemed very helpful and knowledgeable. There is also a great staff picks section. I'm not an anti "big box store" person, but I do love a great small, local business. We'll definitely go back.

Small shop stuffed full of best sellers and an assortment of other popular titles! I was pleasantly surprised when I came in and ended up finding a book I'd been looking for for awhile! They only let 5 people in at a time due to Covid which is much appreciated considering how cramped the space is. I highly recommend if you're on vacation and need something to read!

Beautiful little book shop with lots of current titles as well as Outer Banks books. I was very happy to see some modern fiction and NYT best sellers, and the staff were so friendly and helpful!! Definitely will be back.

Thwy have great prices. The owner put recommendations everywhere like "if you liked so and so you might like so and so". If you buy atleast one book you get and early release copy of a book! Overall it was really nice small bookstore. We will be returning every year!

Great bookstore with a good variety of everything. Cashier was more than willing to help me find what I was looking for and was very knowledgeable about the books I was reading and made some suggestions for the future. I actually lost track of time just talking about different books we've read in the past. You don't find places like these anymore.
