Sanya Sushi Bar Japanese and Chinese Cuisine

Honestly the best sushi I’ve ever eaten, coming from some who who worked at a sushi restaurant before. The staff was so friendly and nice, very pretty clean restaurant and the sushi was out of this world.

Arrived just before 4pm on Saturday (7/16/22). We were seated right away. We ordered our drinks, Coke, Ginger Ale, Hot Green Tea, and Root Beer. All served quickly. The tea was delicious and the pot it was served in was so pretty! The ginger ale wasn’t my favorite, but I drank it.
We ordered Spring rolls and Crab Rangoon for appetizers. Both freshly made and delicious.
Dinners were Hibachi chicken & shrimp, Hibachi steak and shrimp, Hibachi steak, and a Teriyaki beef dinner. Salad and clear soup were served first. Delicious! All dinners were absolutely scrumptious. I don’t think anyone had anything left on their plates!
Service was excellent. They were quick to clean off the empty plates and refill drinks.
Prices of dinners were on the high end. Despite the pricey check, Sanya’s is highly recommended!

We have a rule not to eat anywhere twice with so many options and we're here for a year on work assignments. Well we broke the rule because this one is so delicious! Excellent service, food so tasty, good portions and decent prices. I'm sure we'll go again before leaving!

First time here despite vacationing in OBX for many years, typical sushi menu but quality of food was amazing, staff very friendly.

What a gem of a restaurant! It's easy to call Sanya the tastiest (and friendliest) Japanese and Chinese place around. The two chicken dishes we had were made with plump, high-quality meat. The sauces were thick and sticky in that delicious way that coats the back of your teeth and makes you want a little more. And there's lots of other things to choose from (check out numerous reviews praising the sushi, for example). Best of all, the staff is friendly and welcoming, we had a nice little talk with our server and we only had to wait just long enough to know they weren't rushing our dishes. Just check out number of pictures sent in by their customers and you'll see that this place has truly made a lot of people happy. We were looking for a change of pace from the countless seafood/meat grill places around OBX and Sanya absolutely delivered!

Stopped here during Happy Hour for the sushi deals. You have to buy a alcoholic beverage to get the food deals, so we spilt a bottle of plum wine (very good, very sweet). We ordered the Philly, California, Honolulu (not pictured), Spicy Salmon, Crab, and Shrimp rolls, the crab wontons, spring rolls, and miso soup; all of which were on HH; and the orange chicken with white rice and egg drop soup (not on Happy Hour, but looked so good in other reviews we had to try it). Everything was amazing! We loved the egg drop soup, all of the sushi was fresh, and the orange chicken was totally worth it. Definitely adding this to our list of restaurants to visit next time we're in the Outer Banks! So yummy, and not super busy like most places are down here.

This was the whole package! Great for date night. Just as fantastic for friends grabbing sushi. The place is clean and cozy feeling. The food is absolutely amazing. The lumpia were so crisp and edamame were great for sharing. The Miso soup was warm and tasty. The wonton soup broth was crystal clear. The sushi had fresh flavor. And the drinks were strong!

My wife and I absolutely loved the food. Their service is tops and the sushi is, well let's just say this, the best on the beach. Their Fire Dragon roll is one not to be missed.

Love this place! Great food, their orange chicken is my fav but the sushi is amazing as well. Service is awesome.

Food is great. Sushi is great. Prices on rhe sushi is good unless you are getting special rolls. Hibachi steak plates are 25 each and a little pricey but it is NY Strip so I guess it is worth it. Its good food.

Delicious food with reasonable prices. We went for a later lunch during the week of our family vacation and had no issue being seated. Service was good even though having the meal split into multiple checks was a bit more complicated than it should have been. Definitely not a deal breaker though. We will definitely be back during our next visit to OBX

Wonderful! We went for lunch. Lots to choose from - you can do sushi, hibachi or Chinese food. Service was very attentive without being intrusive. We each ordered a half bottle of wine and it was brought to us in some amazing decanters. Nice touch! Definitely recommend!

Absolutely best sushi place in OBX. Great quality sushi, fantastic service and a nice atmosphere. The restaurant is also very clean and spacious. I’d recommend trying the Christmas Roll as well as the Super Star Roll they are amazing!

Good quality sashimi, very fresh, we ordered orangr chicken, this is the first time I have white meat orange chicken, I know people here like it but my kids like it too, it taste so good as well.

Delicious sushi for a really great price. A large variety of options for anything you could want in sushi. Homemade pineapple sake was awesome.

We loved all the food. We will definitely go here when we are in OBX.
