Outer Bean Cafe

Delicious fresh food with a lot of vegan options. We ate five meals at Outer Bean in our one week stay. Tried smoothies, juices, sandwiches (hot and cold), salads, and everything was fantastic. Can't say enough good things about them. Definitely worth a visit, and an absolute must for vegans in OBX.

The Duck location was a bit stripped down for options (unsurprisingly—off season, covid, labor shortage), but Kitty Hawk had the full menu.

Best smoothies and fresh juices on the beach. They make it with fresh fruits and vegetables right in front of you. I also love their lunch, my favorite is their Mediterranean salad.

Amazing food! We went here twice during our beach week and had a wonderful breakfast both times. The service can be a tiny bit slow, so definitely recommend calling in your order ahead of time so that it's waiting for you once you get there. The owner and staff are incredibly kind and accommodating. Recommend trying the green granola bowl!

The cafe is cozy, the service is excellent, and the menu has things for meat lovers, vegans, and vegetarians. Tea, lattes, and special healthy beach themed mimosas. Heart soup, paninis, salads, and smoothies. Relaxing music and a clean, but homey feel. Can’t wait to eat here again when I return!

Delicious Granola Bowl and Matcha Latte. Both of these items were very unique to what im used to. The granola bowl is wet, similar to an acai bowl but with the emphasis being granola. Very tasty fruit! The matcha latte had more of an emphasis on cinnamon than it did the matcha, but it was very good! Want to try recreating it at home!

The outside seating is very comfortable and I would have loved to stay longer were it a little warmer outside. Inside is very nice as well, however at the time their inside dining is closed due to covid. Love the aesthetic of this place!

Truly enjoyed. It’s been a long time since having food this fresh and tasty. Reminded us of some of our favorite healthy spots in Los Angeles. Glad we happened upon it and hope to come back.

I’m always looking for locally soured food made with love. The Outer Bean Cafe delivered. My vegan panini was exceptional. And there were many options for the non veggie people in my family. The owner takes pride in her work and made us feel very welcome. We all enjoyed our experience!

Adorable eclectic coffee shop. Great food, coffee, and friendly staff! Local art work on the walls, big mugs. Enjoyed a lovely chicken wrap with avacodo, tomato, spinach. Great place to stop on your way out of town and support local business.

Best meal of the trip. I had a gluten free, vegan sandwich and felt like I could build a house after. They packed a lot on to this perfect sandwich: olive tapenade, sunflower seeds, apple, spinach - everything in proportion. My friend had a standard eggs, bacon and cheese (cheddar!) on a roll and loved it too. Iced coffee was delicious. Plus the service was great. Thank you!

The cafe is excellent. They give healthy food options. I ate the sandwich with Turkey. It was very light and delicious. We also drank two juices. They were the best. The girl who made the juices was very proficient. Loves them. We also are acai. We definitely recommend this cafe.

This adorable little family coffee shop is always my first stop arriving at OBX. Everything is homemade with whole ingredients and the coffee is amazing. I’ve always had the best service and friendly staff interactions. Highly recommend for a breakfast sandwich, smoothie, or coffee!

Cool specialty drinks and in and out in 10 minutes. Went here for coffee and breakfast and they were amazing! Great and friendly service :)

We go to Outer Bean every time we visit OBX. They have the best smoothies. Great sandwich place. They have plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. Everything is super flavorful. It's our favorite lunch stop. Seating is sparce - but we have always found a table. It's definitely a hole in the wall type place, but the food is excellent.

So good!!!! I wanted to eat everything on the menu. It is totally worth every dollar they charge. If we lived nearby we would eat here all the time!

One of the best coffee/breakfast places we've been to in a long time. This small business is definitely one to check out if you are visiting the area. Amazing coffee and outstanding food.
