My wife and I enjoyed this restaurant very much. The wait was about an hour so we sat at bar since it was just us 2. Our bartender, Karen, was amazing - professional and courteous with fantastic service. The cocktails were delish and the appetizer oysters were phenomenal.

We eat here regularly and are never disappointed! The food is fresh and presented beautifully with perfect combinations. Barry at the bar and is always knowledgeable and fun! For New Year’s Eve the menu was diverse and showcased local seafood. The Brussels sprouts are always a favorite and the kale salad is delightful with roasted red peppers and apricots! Definitely put it on your list!

Koren Beef Kimchi Egg Rolls were fantastic. Steak-Shrimp and Yukon mash was amazing.

After an extensive search for a local eatery I came upon The Pony and The Boat. From the start I knew that this was going an exceptional experience.. The Ambiance was perfect ..Our Server Tre was extremely friendly and attended our every need. His menu recommendation was spot on and the food was beyond delicious. The entire experience was surreal and I was left feeling valued and more than just a customer. Take my advice and give this establishment a try.. You'll thank me later.

The reviews are good, but our experience, even better! I have a few rules when ordering at a restaurant.

If there’s pot roast or Shepards Pie on a menu, I must order. They are specialty dishes and if Brave enough to add that to their menu, they are most likely, amazing.

On this night, I added Chicken Pot Pie. It was SOO GOOD!

From the greeting, to service, atmosphere, and of course the AMAZING food, what an experience.

We ate out for only one dinner while on this trip. It was important that we chose well. Letting the not so good reviews sway your opinion. That Would be a huge mistake!

We made reservations for our 1st visit here this week and it was super!! We had the Prime rib and the Jumbo Shrimp stuffed with Crab meat and both were on point!! We also enjoyed the creme brulée and Red Velvet cake for desserts and these were also very good! Overall great first visit and we both saw more menu items we wanted to try on future visits here. We will definitely be back!!
I do recommend the reservations as its did get busy during our time in the restaurant.

This place is phenomenal. We ate there 4 out of the 7 nights on vacation. The owner is amazing, the staff was fantastic and the food was out of this world. Not to mention the drinks are well worth the money. We tried something different every night and the daily specials were also outstanding. We will be coming back… too bad they can’t overnight dinners because if so I’d order dinner every night.

From the moment that we walked in, we were enchanted by this restaurant. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas.
The ambience was very festive.
We were greeted by the bartender, who informed us the hostess would be there to seat us shortly.
We were here in December, so we were seated immediately.
Karen, our server was very courteous and efficient. She made sure that what we ordered was served to our expectations.
The entrees were a bit expensive. But the quality of our food was beyond amazing. Portion size was very generous.
My son and I had the seafood Pasta.
It had generous amounts of shrimp, scallops, and crabmeat in it. Highly recommend it. It's definitely a dining experience-- not just a restaurant.

Tried this restaurant based on the positive reviews and can truly say this restaurant did not disappoint! Great atmosphere, clean, waitress was fantastic and the food was truly out of this world. Will make this a regular stop when we’re in NC. Definitely a restaurant that needs to be added to “ your to do list”.

Comfort foods with an upscale flair. The rib roast and fried chicken were the favorites of the table. The menu is a bit pricy but the portions are good sizes. We had a friendly waitress and overall a good experience!

Arrived later in the evening and didn't have to wait for a table. Nice atmosphere, clean restrooms. Food was hot and delicious. Shrimp were jumbo. Wanted dessert but ate too much of the awesome cornbread. Great service, thanks.

Lovely little restaurant with a great waitstaff. Food was glorious, home style, and delicious. We tried various different apps, sides and entrees. Everyone was courteous and attentive. This was the best experience we’d had our entire visit and highly recommend trying this place out when you’ve got some time to try something new.

A friend & I enjoyed dinner here last week. She hadn’t been before & was impressed with the atmosphere, food & service. We both had fried seafood..prepared perfectly with generous portions. The coleslaw was not your usual but absolutely delicious & the cornbread is to die for.
It’s one of my favorites. If you’re craving roast beef their pot roast is so good & be sure to join them for Sunday brunch in the off season. We both highly recommend this place

The description is 100% accurate. Delicious comfort food with a twist. We enjoyed the poutine as a starter with the crab stuffed jumbo shrimp and chicken mac n cheese as our entrees. Everything was delicious! Definitely recommend!

The only complaint I had was I think my dish was done before my husband's . It cooled done a little to much. Wasn't quite hot enough. Husband's was fried chicken and it was very good and hot.

The friendly staff made this establishment 5 stars- The hostess and the wait-staff, alike. The catch of the day was Rockfish, and it was prepared with risotto. The pork chops were tender and juicy. The Korean Egg Rolls were savory, hot, and large.

Wife and I went here for our 32nd anniversary. We were greeted warmly at the door and quick brought to our table, right under the boat. Food send to all be comfort food taken to the next level. We had an appetizer of breaded and fried ravioli with a delicious marinara sauce. We both had Macaroni and cheese for dinner. She opted for the vegetarian version (with veggies), while I had the house version that comes with bacon. You can also opt to add protein like shrimp or grilled chicken (the chicken was cooked perfectly). Warning it's a big portion of Mac and Cheese we both had to take some home. The house with bacon was outstanding, the best Mac and Cheese I've ever had. There were a tempting array of desserts, but I went light with the creme brulei. It's served in a wide buy shallow dish so you get more of the crunchy top with the right amount of the creamy custard below. Like the other places in the area we've eaten at service was excellent, or waitress was very pleasant and always kept my glass filled.

The food is amazing! My dad had the pork chops and said it was so good it was like cutting butter. I had the pot roast and it was amazing. My husband had the steak and loved it and my daughter got Shrimp and grits and it was the best we were had. We planned to come back the same week but decided we had too many left overs from the week to go out to eat.

We are planning to come back next year.

House cocktail came with a fly- was quickly replaced and was delicious.
Should note that in OBX there’s an excessive amount of flies, everywhere so just know it is inevitable.
