Visiting from another state and Wow! We loved their friendliness and charm of the store. Such a great variety to choose from. It smelled so good we started gobbling the donuts up and talking about the fun people and food in McFarlands bakery before we realized we could rate them & share a pic of the yumminess. Thus the picture of eaten donuts 😄

Really wonderful bakery.....very diverse in their variety of baked goods. Well worth the wait to get in to order. Samantha st the counter was very helpful and friendly. I bought their pinwheel rye bread, cheese Danish, chocolate chunk cookies, and a cinnamon roll. All very tasty, and very reasonable priced. Highly recommend this bakery.

Mmmm mmm mmm!! We were referred here by Zip n Slip tubing and glad we listened! the line was kinda long but we got in and out pretty quickly. We missed the Apple fritters 😔 but the strudels, cinnamon rolls and cookies are sooo good! I think this is the BEST cinnamon roll I’ve had in my LIFE!! I will definitely be back the next time I’m in the area.

Traditional old school bakery that are hard to find these days. The pastries, cakes and cookies are top notch! Small area to look and choose your baked goods and little to no seating but seating is available outside.

I have come here since I was a young child!!! I always got to pick out a decorated cookie!!! It was always the highlight of the trip! I remember begging to get an elephant ear cookie. They were always soo big to me as a kid! I always wondered why the adults wanted the sweet rolls.😂 Now, I have graduated to sweet rolls myself, but I still enjoy a decorated cookie or an elephant ear cookie occasionally just because…we all are still a kid at heart! Go check them out when you are in the area! It won’t be a disappointment for sure! If you have kids along, let them make lifetime memories!!!

Great location, super friendly service, delicious baked goods! Absolutely loved this place. Bought a large variety of items because everything looked so good. They did not disappoint! Favorites were the cinnamon roll, cream cheese danish, blueberry cream cookie, and Scottish shortbread. Will definitely be going back on the next visit.

Always a pleasure to visit a real old-time bakery. The counter is a busy place and the staff have smiles and pleasantries for those they serve. The baked goods are second to none! A true delight is a visit to McFarland's Bake Shop in Hendersonville.

The ultimate bakery! I was drawn to it when I read that they make their treats from scratch. I have always loved desserts. Can’t walk by a bakery.

Went for Mardi Gras this month and picked up two king cakes. They were very good and hit the spot! Will definitely be going back when we are downtown Hendersonville. Highly recommend

Your classic serve over the counter only bakery. Classic pastries made to perfection. Large apple fritters, large bear claws, cookies, and much more. A must stop while visiting historic Hendersonville.

This place is a great place to stop if you are visiting Hendersonville, NC. The breads are very good!! The pastries are amazing!!

I came here on the recommendation of a friend while on vacation from Florida. All I can say is…wow. The apple fritter was the most incredible pastry I’ve ever eaten, and they had at least ten other things I wanted to try. Huge selection, great service, and very reasonable prices. I drove an hour from Black Mountain to check it out and it was absolutely worth it!

This place is amazing. The cookies, doughnuts, and pastries are so good. In my family's opinion, their doughnuts are better than Krispy Kreme. The line gets long and it's a small place but worth it. I wish they had a place for indoor seating. Get there early because they run out.

Some of the best donuts I've ever had in the country. Very nice staff members, always a pleasant experience. I do not live in Hendersonville but I always stop by when I am in town.

Sad there was no seating but the best glazed donut I've ever had. There were four of us and everyone enjoyed their picks. Chained up seating outside so we stood there on the sidewalk and ate

My mom and I came in Tuesday, 11/15, to buy sourdough bread. We do as often as socially acceptable, because it is delicious and very affordable for fresh made bread. A VERY rude customer came storming back into the bakery demanding to the very sweet sales clerks that she was given the wrong donut (which she was not and had clearly eaten half of). The front staff women handled her attitude with nothing short of loving grace and replaced the donut she had incorrectly ordered before she threw a ridiculous temper tantrum. The staff handing the situation wonderfully and just add even more reason to come back for our bread and treats. Thank you for your excellent customer service even when rude and entitled individuals do not appreciate it.

Family favorite!! We stop here every time we are are in NC. From bread to cookies, we always leave loaded up. Highly recommend this place. Guaranteed to have the cookie you wants. Not just a chocolate chip or peanut butter.

Absolutely delicious! Thank you McFarlans for generations of delicious bakery goods made the old fashioned way! McFarlans is one of only a tiny few bakeries that make things the old fashioned way. What a blessing for our town! Hendersonville NC!
